Are there any rumors or speculation about what construction may be occurring this summer? There's the vague advisory from Disney. Wondering if anyone has more insight, even if unverified. Any real chance that, during the summer, it's something that might materially impact plans, like a pool or monorail/dock refurb? I can't imagine they would wait until the busy summer months to tackle this type of project...right?

Just an FYI...

I have noticed that, for the past couple of months, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian has not been listed on the "Add-on" page of the DVC website. All other DVC properties are listed, even VGC

I talked to my guide today and confirmed that VGF is completely sold out and that they (DVC) have no VGF direct points to sell, with no indication on if/when that may change.

The last direct price was $230, but I would think if they get enough points from ROFR and/or defaults to start selling again, that price will be a good bit higher.

Also, the longer it stays unavailable, the more likely we may see resale prices go up.

Just some thoughts...

Have a great day, everyone!

Yup. My guide called last week. Said she has no VGF points to sell me.

I was thinking you may see resale go down slightly if people start to sell what they bought direct during the good spring/summer incentives. Prices Jan 2023 compared to Jan 2024 seem very similar. It’s just difficult to find a variety of resale GVF contracts.

I actually had my guide call and sell me some VGC points…. but she confirmed that VGF was not available.

I fear that when they eventually go back on sale it will be at a higher price and smaller resale could adjust up unless a large supply of contracts comes on the market.

I would like to buy another at least 50 points from disney, but sadly that just isn't an option right now.... Most of my points are direct, so I would like to keep as many of them that way... But that may just prove to not be possible.

Good point. My VGF points are direct. I’m debating if I want to add resale and spoil all direct points in that contract.

I have an April UY which is tough to find. I had my eye on a small contract but would like to stay at VGF before buying. Sadly, I don’t think we’re going to make our April trip there. Worst part is now I’m in the dreaded holding period. Argh. Long story but my daughter’s ear tube came out. She has fluid in her ear and I don’t know if I can morally put her on a plane.

The only thing left to refurbish are parts of the main lobby. Summer is actually one of the lightest time for crowds at the GF, so I wouldn't be surprised to find the refurbish happening at some point this summer.

What do you mean by "add resale and spoil all direct points in that contract." We have both a direct VGF contract and a resale and there isn't anything spoiled. They are actually treated as separate sub contracts.

Same. I just have to be careful if I want to use my points at Riviera which has only been once so far as I prefer VGF to RR.

When I think of my VGF points I know I can use them at RIV. If I add resale VGF then those won’t be usable at RIV. I have resale BLT, direct VGF and direct BWV across different use years with different owners. I know many members are good at managing this. I’m not so good at it and can’t add another layer of difference. Hurts my brain.

Thanks! I don't have a crystal ball, but I can assure you lobby refurb is going to happen the three nights we are at VGF in June :-/ That's just our luck. We'll still enjoy it anyways, we're super excited to be staying there for the first time.

I am hopeful, but not convinced, that they’ll be done w/ GF refurbs by our late Dec. ‘24/early Jan. ‘25 visit, it feels like they’ve been refurbing the GF forever & that the Poly tower will be done so we don’t have to cross the street to get to Captain Cooks for lunch. & while I’m wishing - could there finally be no more construction walls at Epcot? I’m so done w/ winding my way through construction wall tunnels.
