The "Why I didn't speak to my sister for a week" trip report *** Now Complete :)

I am so sorry you crashed and burned at work. I can SO feel your pain. I fell UP the stairs at work in front of a cute guy a couple of weeks ago. We are so much alike, it's scary.:lmao:

You fell UP the stairs ?? How do you do that ? I can only fall DOWN. Oh wait - don't tell me how. The last thing I need to learn another way to fall.

Don't know if you've ever watched Survival or any of the other American made reality shows, but really, it's way past time to vote your sister off the island!

LOL nope never watched Survival. The thing is, I didn't want to vote her off. I was thrilled about taking her along and wanted her to have fun :( The craziest thing is if you ask her now, she'll tell you she had a great time ! :confused3

You know, I don't think SO many people have ever felt SO bad about enjoying a TR. (myself included) :lmao:

It looks like a lot of people feel that way :lmao:
Don't worry. Jess & I actually get along great these days, I spend hours on the phone with her every single day (thank goodness for free nights & weekends).

How did you like CSR? I have to ask, were the rooms clean enough? We are staying there this october and our last 2 trips have been to Poly so I'm worried I might not like CSR. Though the pics look beautiful.

We LOVED CSR. While it's not the Poly, it's still a great resort. Our rooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly. It's a big resort but we enjoyed ou walks around the lake. The pool was great. I agree that Pepper Market is confusing at first though. When we first went there and all we wanted to do was buy mugs, it took us forever to find them and figure out what those papers they gave us were for. But after that we got it & managed fine. I think you'll have a great time !

second... I wish I could take a girls only trip with you to disney! I think we would get along so well and have a great time (to make up for your trip this time).

third .... Ok, I swear I'm a normal, fun, regular girl when I say this.. but if my husband and I happened to take a vacation to Paris... would you be interested in hanging out? I don't even know if we ARE going to France, but we've been talking about taking a big trip early next year to get away from our horrible winters here in New York and my husband wants to take me to France (he's been a few times).... It would be great to meet up with a local person who could show us around and tip us off to the places more locals go. While I do want to go to The Lourve and all the tourist areas.. I also want to get a feel for more "real" France. You can private message me.. or maybe I should have private messaged you!

I would LOVE to do that !!! Grumpy & I love escorting people around Paris (some of our American and Canadian friends have come to visit). Definitely PM me and we can plan something. There's a lot more to Paris than the touristy places. Maybe we can visit you in New York too ! We're total tourists in NY

Your man....oh no, no, no!!!!!!! My Man

MINE, MINE, MINE !

Those marshmallows look soooooo yummypopcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: I am definately gonna try one when we go, I don't know if you noticed but there is a Disney periodic table (I work in a lab so kind of know what the real thing is like) instead of the elements there are Disney characters like Goofonium or something, I wish I could have a poster of that at home :lovestruc

Did you ask them if you could buy one ? When we go (IN 10 DAYS!!!) I will go and ask. This way if they say yes I can mail it over.

Marina - Loving your TR !!!!
The title caught my eye b/c I hate to travel with my sister, I have stupidly booked a family trip to the world in Oct for 9 people !!! What was I thinking????? Thank God for Food & Wine Festival, I only have to be completely sober on MK day. :lmao: You can bet that one wil end at EPCOT:drinking1

PS Jon Bon Jovi is at the TOP of my "list of 5" :cloud9:

MMMMMMMMM Food & Wine festival... yum yum !! Maybe you can sneak in a sample or two on your MK day, just in case.

So, who's your top 5 ?? Here's mine :

1. Jon Bon Jovi
2. Jon Bon Jovi
3. Jon Bon Jovi
4. Jon Bon Jovi
5. Matthew McConaughey (he's friends with Jon).

thought about you and Grumpy today. We went to our zoo and there was a family there from France who is spending a month here in the states. They were definitely having a sisterless trip. :rotfl2:

Lucky them, a whole month !!

I know how defeating it can be to have planned for the entire group, hoping that everyone will absolutely be over the moon with happiness, only to have them poop out on you . . . . I planned a family reunion for my parents 35th anniversary, where I brought in 35 family members (paid for all events/dining/accomodations myself and most of their travel too :guilty:) and most of them b*tched the entire time. Then, just cuz apparently I'm stupid like that, I planned a family reunion cruise. Oh yeah, that was fun . . . . it was hard not to pitch certain people overboard when I thought no one was watching . . . .

OMG this is way worse than our trip. And it must have cost you a bundle, too. Why can't people be appreciative or at least wait until they're back home to vent ???

I feel your pain. In April I went to Puerto Rico with DSis, DMom & 2 other ladies. DSis drove us crazy. The last day of the trip, she & I walked to the beach. I returned without her. The others asked, "Where is Dsis?" I said, "I DROWNED her & YOU ALL OWE ME!"

Not one of them batted an eyelash. They just reached into their pockets & asked, "How much?" :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Maybe Marina is busy playing with the hot guy from works hose.:rolleyes1 I was paying attention.:goodvibes

Nah. It turned out, all he's got for himself is his hose, and that ain't enough.

I had to sympathize with your "carding" issue - my sad story is I went to the liquor store on New Years Eve and bought a bottle of wine. As I was heading for the exit, the couple behind me got carded. They kind of made a big deal about it and the cashier says "I card anyone that looks under 45". Which wouldn't be THAT big of deal -- except I was ONLY 44~(obviously a bit touchy on that age thing)!!

Okay, I would have gone back to the counter and DEMANDED to be carded.
The nerves!!!!

I'm not a psychiatrist or a psychologist, but I have been treated for depression - your sister seems to have major symptoms of it! I hope she's getting help.
I was just wondering, if maybe your DSis has a problem with her thyroid. That would account for her always being tired.

It's my opinion that there is something physically wrong with her. I thought depression too (Grumpy went through that several years ago - I see the signs in Jessi that I used to see in her). But last year when she wanted to go through gastric bypass surgery, she had to go through a battery of physical and psychological tests. They found nothing wrong with her except her kidney problem, which we already knew about.
I still think there's more to it than laziness, but then I have her on the phone and talk about jobs and moving, and she tells me she's doing just fine thank-you-very-much and has no intention of working any time soon.

Are you nuts? A before park opening ADR AND P&PP after hours? Yup, you must be nuts! :rotfl2:

In my defense we were supposed to leave AK early and rest for the afternoon. Grumpy & I have done worse.. but yeah now that I think of it, it was silly and completly unrealistic. I should have scratched those plans after a couple days.

I'm so glad you got to eat at Spoodles and see Fantasmic! At least this time Jess had a reason for going back to bed!

I don't think it was silly OR unrealistic. You planned your trip the best you could, using plans that have worked for you in the past. You even allowed time for rest in between. You are a very thoughtful and caring sister!:cloud9:

As for the psych tests before surgery - I don't think they're really looking for depression. More for unrealistic expectations of the surgery - at least that's the tests they give bariatric surgery candidates here in the States - a cursory battery to be sure the candidate doesn't believe that all of their problems will be solved by the surgery. They don't really test for anything beyond that. Of course, medicine is very different here, so I shouldn't assume anything!

Regardless, it's a GREAT thing that your sister has you to talk to everyday!

Yay for a double update. Sorry about the migraine, but I'm so glad you got to meet your friend Wayne!

The next day doesn't look so good. Hopefully it turns out allright:thumbsup2

You have not read every days report, have you? Of course it is not going to turn out all right. Things would have been better had she taken Charles Manson.

Now I feel bad - I've had migraines, and I can't imagine anything more horrible than that feeling.

I'v also been there done that with migraines. Hope she was feeling better the next day. So glad to hear about your great dinner with Grumpy and Wayne. What awsome Fantasmic pictures you got. Wish mine had turn out that good.

Can't wait to hear about your AK experence.

Okay I can cut Jess slack on the migraine, I suffer from them too. Too bad about the gardener. But there are better, hotter guys.:goodvibes Keep up the trip report and remember that I for one will buy your book if you decide to write one.

OMG your trip report is AWESOME!! I have been there and done that with people who have NO desire to get up and get going...or who get Disney. I have been told it's probably more fun to spend the day with a Nazi General than to go to Disney with me!

I have really enjoyed your trip report so far and I'm sorry your pain has brought me so much pleasure.
BTW I would hold your hand on ToT ;)

If you ever want to do a sister trip again, my sister and I will gladly stand in as your surrogates and meet you down there. She and I have been to WDW four times together and she's one of my favorite traveling companions.

Migraines are absolutely miserable. I was officially diagnosed with them 15 yrs ago at the age of 18 but I know they started several years before that. I had one a few weeks ago that forced me to push my DH and my DS out of the door for piece and quiet. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! Hopefully I won't get one on vacation any time soon!

I want to know how you get such great Fantasmic photos? Is it because you've been able to sit close? I've wanted to take good pictures but they never come out just right. They're usually really dark.

Can't wait for the next installment!
