And, Ken. He's definitely a "regular"!!
Yeah... like 30 years a regular!!! It wouldn't be T.E. without Ken!!

I was thinking today, if the Fort were sort of like a DVC where you could actually buy a site, would you? how much would you pay? i think i definitely would. it would be your site and you could rent it out. sort of like an ownership resort.
I've been here since August, 1997. At this point, I'm pretty sure I'm a regular!
Now, let's get this thead back on topic! We're talking about the Trail's End. We've always enjoyed it. It's gone through quite a few changes over the years, but it always has that homey feeling that everyone likes. And, Ken. He's definitely a "regular"!! It's always nice to walk in and see him and get his cheerful greeting!
The food has changed -- like with most places. But, we'll keep going. It's tradition.
You are darn tootin I would buy DVC if they included the Fort! We opted to buy a motorhome instead of the DVC so we had more options.
Now, on topic here (yes Rhonda) After reading several articles, including Jim Hill's I referenced earlier, I know that Disney has to make cutbacks and such because of the economy, but I sure wish they would have left TE alone. It was sure fine the way it was. I am not commenting about the pizza, the buffet.
As far as the cuts go due to economic issues, I would think Disney would try to build more value into the experience rather than take it away. All things being equal, if times are tough, I will make MORE of an effort to go if there are new or improved things to do. If there are things being taken away and or cheapened and times are tough I am more inclined to wait it out and postpone a trip. Trails end is a good example, due to cuts in the quantity and quality of items we go much less often, now I am only one person but I do know that others have noticed it and also go less frequently

We all love Ken. Ken can't control the food though!
I only hope that Ken doesn't "up and retire" on us anytime soon. Rumor has it that "Mean Gene" is retiring this month. (I heard this from a reliable Pwincess! )Ken is definintely one of the best things that TE has going for it.
OMG...what a visual of the 14 year old and eating an entire plate of bacon. Sounds like something one of mine would do. Yikes, I'm sure that was misery.
Debbie,
give me a description of Mean Gene...I'm trying to put a face on him.
And,,,I agree with TE breakfast being the way to go as opposed to dinner..
I heard he was retiring this month. He may already be gone.Thanks. I am going to look for him and see if I can pick him out based on your description.
