TV Commercials You Cant Stand

I take it. I know how they pay for those ads. A three month supply is $2,000. Insurance only pays $1,200, so $800 out of pocket.
I just discovered this week that my insurance is now limiting what they will allow for Tougeo (my insulin) . The letter apologizes for not filling it as my doctor ordered because they believe no one needs more than 50 units a day. Super because I’m on 104!

I agree about what I call those 'pathetic dog' commercials. I read somewhere that 95% of what you donate is used to pay their employees and run the business. I think the laws should be modified so many of these so-called non-profits actually give the majority of what they collect to the cause they claim to represent. Otherwise you are just paying the salaries of those running of a business that hides behind being a tax sheltered enterprise. Virtually none of what you donate goes to help homeless dogs. If you want the money to actually do some good, donate in person to your local vet/animal shelter.

There are similar commercials about saving some animals in Africa. If you read the fine print, it says you are actually donating to their 'general fund' and not specifically helping the animals they are advertising about.

One size does not fit all in the world of Medicine and Diabetes. A friend was a severe Type I Diabetic her entire life, longer than any patient her Doctors had. When she had to be hospitalized her family always had to make sure there was a family member with her to monitor what insulin she was given and when. They knew if her blood sugar went below 140, she would go into a coma. Hospitalists and Nurses always wanted to get her down to 100 which would have killed her.

I have hypoglycemic symptoms at 70 even though 70 is considered to be “normal “ so I guess I’m abnormal! 🤣

Yeah, I had a rare reaction to a common blood pressure medicine. Messed with my kidneys but I have been off this medicine for a year and everything has stabilized. But with everything else that was going on I was seeing a couple of other specialists who had never heard of my situation, and thought maybe I misunderstood what other Doctors and tests and found........until.......they looked at my chart, blood tests and biopsy results.

Any holiday commercial where a new car is given/received as a gift.
At our house we joke about the ONLY appropriate gifts for women being cars, phones, diamonds and perfume.
"Do not take xyzDrug if you are allergic to xyzDrug".
Some people are a special kind of stupid.
I’m tired of cartoon bears waving their butts in the air. It’s just soooo wrong.
Agree, and I'm confused about that new cartoon bear toilet paper about the fancy "tear pattern" on toilet paper. Who'd care about that?

Weird. That's not normal.

The commercials I hate most: perfume commercials. So weird. I mean, lately we've been seeing one with Johnny Depp in the dessert -- is he digging holes? Who wants to smell like a smelly man doing manual labor in the heat?

We have a lawyer that uses kids in his ads. He starts out that sometimes life doesn’t go your way. And then kids mess up their lines and acting all stupid about it. Yea real creditable ad. I’d sure hire him. Not

His catchphrase is one call that’s all. He must spend a ton on ads. He’s always flapping his jaws

Maybe it is a play on words. "Butt sheets for a bare butts.

If they were whipping butts it would be obscene. Wiping is just gross.

In all fairness the side effects are mentions because it is required by law.

I have always hated the Liberty commercials they have ever had with Emu and Dug, except that one. That on made me laugh.

I have to agree with that because is says Don't take if you are allergic and I have to wonder who would take a drug that they knew they were allergic too. I have lost a lot of faith in the intellect of people over the last few years, but would anyone be that stupid and how would then know if they never took it before. If they put as much care into producing the drug as they do in thinking about the wording I know I wouldn't take it under any circumstance.
Except for the fact that it’s Doug:smooth:

The drug commercials - such happy and smiley scenes as the narrator tells the possible side effects, one of which is death.
The Liberty Mutual Insurance ads - emu and friend are just stupidly annoying.
Any commercial featuring celebrities - like I need them to tell me what to buy.
Seriously, it’s sad that there are so few clever, creative commercials. Makes me wonder why the ad companies can’t find any talent.

Thank goodness for the mute button on the remote.

Yes, the one for metastatic Breast Cancer, naming side effects "Which can lead to death" Well, lady, metastatic Breast Cancer can lead to death too, I'd probably take my chance with a pill.

Maybe but you never know. If you have few options I’d give it a chance
