Which attractions are down most often?

Just curious. Not counting rehabs. I know weather impacts down status as well as mechanical issues.

What is your experience?

I don't know that anyone here (outside of CMs) could really say, as it's random. Most ride closures are caused by guests, not mechanical issues. Leaving weather out of the equation, I don't know I can single one ride out where I say "Man, that thing goes down a lot". PP mentioned Splash, but in our experience it's very rare that it's down. Not saying they don't experience it, or they're wrong, because they may have seen it a lot. But my point is that it's random. Same for Pirates. We actually got stuck on it once and had to be evac'd after sitting for 40 minutes...but that was one time out of dozens and dozens of times we've been on it.

If I absolutely HAD to pick one ride I notice most often it would be PeopleMover. But even that is sporadic and random. One trip, we saw it down over and over and over, but then others we never saw it down.

My completely unscientific assessment would say Splash Mountain and Test Track. This is 100% because they tend to close for bad weather.

We've seen Splash and PP go down multiple times on our trips and were often part of the frequent and long breakdowns that happened in Jan/Feb so my vote is for the two of them. That situation seems to have gotten better though so hopefully whatever bugaboo they were having with Splash after it's refurb has gotten worked out. FEA was bad when it first opened but has gotten better. TT is often down. I think easy WDW or Touring Plans said it was down something like 25% of time during the first hour of park opening. Some of that is indeed weather. TT shuts down in the rain where a lot of the other outdoor rides only shut down if the is lightning but there is a fair amount of mechanical and/or guest issues there too.

Well, we were there the first week of April.

On our first MK day, Pirates went down when we were in the standby line and we were escorted out through an emergency exit at the back of the building. That same day, BTMRR went down just after we got in the FP return line.

On our second Epcot day Test Track went down while we were on the ride (just before the part where you go outside) and we were eventually evacuated from our ride vehicles. It was sunny with clear calm skies and temps in the 70’s that morning ...

On our second MK day, we received an email letting us know that BTMRR was down as our return window opened. When it was back up and running, only one side was working.

So, to summarize: Pirates, BTMRR and Test Track get my votes. I would probably throw in Splash because that’s the ride that we have run into issues with on several previous trips ... but it was fine this trip.

Let's say you had a FP for Splash between 10-11 and it went done, what happens to the FP? Do they reschedule it for you? Is it like DL where you when can use your FP on any other ride with no real time frame?

You will get any anytime FP in your MDE account that can be used on any ride that day except Peter Pan or 7D Mine Train.

All I know is that I have been on Pirates when it has broken down multiple times. My daughter still talks about the time we were stuck on it for a really long time in the "scary part." (the dark lightening section). Unfortunately, that experience has made her apprehensive about the ride. I know that one time when we went to AK, Expedition Everest was down and the cast member told my husband that it often happened due to cold weather in the morning (it was December).

We got stuck on Splash, once on a hill and another time in the scene with the singing animals only they turned off the sound so there were these frogs (I think) next to us with their mouths moving and a weird creaking sound from the mechanical part but no voice or song. Anyways even my older boys found it extremely creepy. Here's hoping after the refurb we don't get stuck anymore.:thumbsup2

I would say Tower of Terror is down more often than the average attraction.

Often times only one drop shaft is down but they usually only let people with FPs in at that point. In my experience, they are pretty quick at getting everything operational again.

1. Frozen Ever After - Its been down more than half the times I've had FastPasses for it.
2. Splash Mountain - Recently it seems to go down a lot.
3. Test Track

We've been hear almost 10 days, and the only things we've seen down was Frozen (once) and Hall of Presidents (once). Seems very random to me which I assume is normal to be so many rides and so many hours each day for them.

I would say Pirates. I swear it's down 50% of the time I want to ride it. And, it's one of my absolute favorites!

Test Track has been down at least once on each of our trips.
Last trip, we got 3 anytime FPs in one day, all from Pooh. It just kept coming up, then back down. It was actually pretty funny.
