Well drat! You might just give the other swabbies the same idea! :lmao: :lmao: Wenches, we will have to regroup to come up with another way to get this done. ;) :rotfl2:

Keep reading Lisa . . .
3 words - stealth vow renewal

I do hope you're right... but who really knows. They don't guarantee that we'll have the room nearby and we may not know what rooms we have until after we've already paid!

I'm sure I'm not the one with this dilemna, positive I'm not!
(but I'm the one that jumped on Kristina's offer. :rotfl: :confused3 :rolleyes1 )

And I wonder.... if someone here is still waiting on a room that would love to have the cat 11.

I just want to jump in here for a moment... (is it jumping in when the conversation happened a few days ago??) there is one thing you are not thinking of and that is what if, for some emergency, etc, one of you can't go. Say Kristinahas to bail for whatever reason (please no!!) You would then be stuck without a place for your DD. If you were really going to concider this, I would wait until we were A LOT closer to the cruise date. JMHO.:goodvibes

Thanks Lil' Grumpy, now you have me tearing up, what a day this has been.

One of the nurses at CHOP told my wife and I, if it hadn't been for us making daily visits to be with BJ, she most likely would have died weeks sooner. The nurse truly believes that BJ was fighting for us, more than for herself. The nurse also shared with us, that everytime we walked into the NICU and started talking to BJ, her vital signs would improve.

Here is a picture that is glued into the inside cover of my Bible, of me holding BJ the night before she passed. Her little body had swelled from the medication she was on.

Oh Andy.
I'm so touched that you would share this with us, I feel truly blessed to know you. A picture says a thousand words- and that one says millions. The love you felt for each other exudes from that picture- in leaps and bounds. and she was so beautiful...

Trying to catch up here.

Bib, sending prayers to you and your DH. I hope that he has a speedy recovery and that there isn't any work loss. Please know you are in our thoughts.
thank you!

Thank you...that's a relief. I kept thinking of the movie where the kid says "I see dead people"......for me it would be "I say stupid stuff". :lmao:
:lmao:

HIYA BIP...........Is Texas warming up at all ???? Was 37 here today....feels like a Flippin heat wave after last couple weeks !!!!

Mark
Actually it was up to 73 just awhile ago! :confused3
That old saying about Texas weather- if you don't like the weather, wait a minute- is SO TRUE.
:rolleyes1

DH was able to replace my power jack. The part was about $14, but the replacement job requires taking the computer apart & doing a little soldering. If you have an independant computer repair place near you, they should be able to do the job for you.

I'm leery of the big-chain computer service places. Best Buy's repair place always seemed to manage to skim the most expensive parts off of my laptop, replace it with cheaper stuff and claim it was the way I sent it to them. :scared1:

I'm telling ya - Stealth Vow Renewals! They'll never know what hit 'em!

Prayers and pixie dust for BIP's DH and for the PO's families and especially the children.

Thank you!
It's still hurting him real bad. I couldn't get thru the dr's office today because they were closed (ugh) and although he was supposed to be off today... they called him in to work at 5pm.

Definitely something to consider.
I'm running a few scenarios by my TA and trying to find out prices of the various scenarios but you bring up a good point. It might be wise to consider one of the scenarios I had thought of- which was leaving the Cat 6 with me and Ruby, adding the 2 youngest to the cat 6, but LEAVING Jeff on the cat 11 and just adding Brack/spouse to the cat 11 with him- but ofcourse Jeff wouldn't actually stay in the cat 11... by "name" only, yanno? That would at the very least have us "legal" according to the roster, even if K couldn't go (God forbid that happening! )... definitely something to think about.

Shelley, has your DH been to see a chiropractor yet? I was sceptical at first but am living proof that the right one can work miracles when it comes to neck & back pain.

Well said.....and I couldn't agree more!

Am I too late to post about kids with medical issues?

But I have happy endings...

DS #1 was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkins in 2001. He was in 8th grade at the time. He spent most of the year enduring chemo and radiation treatments. Just this weekend, we watched him swim in the finals as a freshman in the D3 Metropolitans at Rutgers! We are keeping him out of the CC rugby game as he had an unfortunate rugby accident as a junior that required ACL grafting surgery last year

DS #2 was having issues with his knees in the beginning of 8th grade. Ended up needing surgery and was diagnosed with arthritis. Took almost two years, but we were finally able to get his medicine adjusted and he is now swimming on the HS team and made varsity this year. He also has a hole in his heart, but it is a very small one and just needs minor monitoring.

DS #3 is halfway through 8th grade and has had no medical issues yet! We are just watching him as he is very large for his age (6' 3") and will eventually need to have his heart monitored.

It breaks my heart every time I read about kids who have medical issues since I have had the opportunity to spend so much time around really ill children. My boys were very lucky; they were able to go back to their regular lives, but there are so many who can't.

We are all very lucky even when we are being driven nuts!

So nice to balance today's sorrowful stories with some happy endings as well! Thanks for sharing...

Has your DS#3 been diagnosis with Marfan's syndrome? My DB has it - he is 34 and is now over 7' tall and keeps growing. It comes from my mom's family - my grandfather had it, my greatgrandmother had it (we don't know about her siblings but assume some of them did as well), my aunt has it, and two of my cousins. My brother also has the heart condition that tends to develop and at some point will probably have to have either a full heart transplant or some kind of reconstructive surgery on the valves in his heart - as he has other health issues this neither of these may be an option for him. If Marfan's is diagnosised early they can begin doing immediate tests for the underlying medical issues that go along with it so they can monitor them and do proactive intervention before they become full blown medical problems like my brothers.
