DDA Chapter 3

Vicki - I thought of you today when I was looking at one of the smiley websites. Let me see if this works on here. Yep! It is a background of some sort. Not sure how you can use it but it made me think of you.

I'm going to have to find a use for that!

You all were chatty all evening. Now here I am and everyone is gone, except Elin and Vicki, sporadically.

I should be tired, but I'm not. So, I am here. Maybe we will see our Board turn into a pumpkin and have to turn it back into a shiny new carriage!

I'm trying to plan my Disney trip and make sure I have everything. I got the suitcase up and put the stuff from the Disney box into the suitcase. I need to print our checklist and see what we need to buy before we go.

have you got a spreadsheet? ;)

have you got a spreadsheet? ;)

Of course! It isn't exactly a color code matrix of fun like others have. I do have the red, yellow, green TGM days colored. The spreadsheet is laid out with the general idea of which parks which days and all of our ADR's. It also has our flight info, Disney #'s, etc.

We then have a packing list in spreadsheet form. There is one for the family stuff and another personal one. I'm responsible for the family stuff. This includes the over-the-door shoe hanger, generic meds, first aid kit, etc.

Well, I think I'm off for the night. I need to spend some time with Chuck. He is feeling neglected because I'm not giving him an undivided attention. He has been very sweet to me the last couple of days and I need to make sure he knows how much I appreciate him. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Of course, I'll be looking for the new thread because I'm sure we'll pass 3750 tonight. Whoever posts the last one on here, I'd say create the new thread with chapter 4 and copy the stuff from Deb's first post on this thread to the first one on the new one. And if you know how, create a link to the new one from the last one on here.

I figured you did! :goodvibes

will do, Vicki. Good night!

Hi guys,

I'm going to ask for lots of prayers and PD, and anything else you can throw this way.

I think I told you about my SIL, he has a deformity in his kidney that has caused a blockage, and consequently caused damage. He had a stint put in right after Thanksgiving, and had a renal scan done after six weeks. After viewing the results his doctor told him that he could repair the kidney and the surgery was set up for February 19th.

Through some very poor decisions on their part, my SIL has no insurance, and after paying what they can they are now totally broke. SIL's mother got it into her head that this surgery was too dangerous and they had to find someone who could do it laproscopically, well she found a doctor at Tulane University that could do it. After seeing him he told them that he would do what he could on the finance end, and the surgery was scheduled for the
13th. Well Tulane called yesterday and told them that they would have to have the fee $27,000.00 the day he entered the hospital, they don't have it, and have no idea how they could possibly get it. The mom, who insisted that he do this, made the comment, I knew that was going to happen, DON'T MAKE ME GO THERE!!!!!!!

So now my DD is a wreck, my SIL is having a lot of pain and doesn't have any idea what he is going to do. I told her that they needed to contact his original doctor and explain the circumstances, I just can't see him letting him continue to suffer. We can help them some, but not to the tune of $27,000.00.

Please add them to your prayer lists,

Debbie

Have them go to the hospitals billing office and request a Needed Services application (or a variation there of) that will assess their financial need and should adjust their charges to what they can afford or will actually write off the entire thing. Have them do it ASAP and they should be able to have the surgery pre qualified under it. It should also reduce or remove and previous debt. I used to work for a Hospital billing office and I handled these.

Bernadette - 7 of my outfits were still clean when we came home. Which must mean I packed about 25 outfits for myself. I don't think DS wore all of his stuff, either. DH doesn't have as many outfits as DS & I do, so SOMEBODY will have to do his laundry at WDW. Or I will have to buy him more clothes.:rolleyes1
Yes, my mail service is quite stellar. How did you guess?

We went for 23 days and took 9 outfits. Laundry isn't a big deal and really isn't time consuming. You can do it while hanging out at the resort pool. There is no way that anyone needs 32 pairs of anything at WDW.

Jen, I loved the blog and info on the "twins". I'm so excited for you two. Continue to demand the care you need and deserve! You are your best advocate. I can't wait to hear about the sex of our two new DDA babies when you are ready to tell us. :cloud9:

Should I return the cute little pink "I'm a little miracle" outfits?

Chuck is driving me crazy. He is watching Lost on his computer catching up on the epsiodes that he missed. However, what he really wants is some personal attention from me. He keeps looking over at me and blowing kisses.

EEEEeeeewwwww, but it might get rid of the headache:lmao:

Today. I chopped 5 inches off my hair 2 weeks ago (it was all one length and below my shoulders). I'm still not used to it.

You both look phenominal. So slim :thumbsup2

Ok, those that have gotten them what are the fastpasses that you get when you do the DVC tour. Our guide said that we could come to the tour when we were there in March and get the fastpasses. I'm trying to plan and can't remember what the fastpasses were good for. Can someone remind me? Thanks.

You get a little credit card type thing that gives you 2 immediate fastpasses per person for any FP attraction. That is 2 per park, but you only have 48 hours (if I remember correctly) to use them. They gave us a card for 5 people :thumbsup2 Definitely worth it's weight in gold.

I had an interesting conversation with one of my "dads" today following his daughters' recital. He came up and asked me if he could ask me a Disney question. I figured they were planning a Disney vacation. Nope! He wanted to know if I knew who Deb Wills was. When I said, yes, that I knew who she was and had met her a few time, he said he figured that was the case. He just wanted to let me know that he hosts her website!

How did I not know this before now?!?

how cool!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

We are in the midst of another snow storm. We could have a foot on the ground before all is said and done. Work was suprisingly busy for about 2 hours, dead at opening and again at 8:20. I was hostess tonight so I didn't care if we were busy or not as I was getting paid hourly :hippie:

Poor Terra  and yes the price of drugs is ridiculous. :sad2:

Thankfully, the doctor called it in with time to spare so we are good. Plus, we have a grocery pharmacy that does free prescriptions on 6 top antibiotics, so it was free. The kicker to it all...the pharmacist hands it to me saying that there are several flavors. It is pink so I assume bubble gum (the offending flavor), nope she says....strawberry banana! WHAT?!?! That is what we were trying to avoid in the first place. Argh! At least we are set now. Terra's still now a fan, but she says that it is better than the bubble gum. So, we have a chart set up and $10 in disney dollars awaiting her upon completion of the medicine.

I hope Terra adds the $10 in DDollars to her bank in about 7 days! (or is it 10?)

Tia, I'm glad that you were able to get a more cost-effective solution for Terra. I hope that it clears up quickly so that she doesn't have to have the "yucky" meds for too long. Don't you love what we do for our kids?

I figure that I "wore" so much of the meds last year, that I'd go to great lengths to avoid the sticky baths this time. ;) Really, she did fine after the 3rd or 4th dose last year, but still talks about the yucky bubble gum medicine. That's the first thing she always asks if I think she seems to be coming down with something.

If you all want the snow then I hope you get it, Deb! :goodvibes
