DDA Chapter 5

free dining has not even been announced! and people are booking ADRs right and left in case they can get it for the August and September trips... Many of them have every intention of canceling said ADRs is they don't get free dining. :sad2: What that means is that I will have to take what I can get tomorrow and then start calling back on a daily basis closer to our travel dates.

I have all my ADR for Sept. I'm hoping for free dining, but I'm not planning on it. Everything we have, we would have done anyway. I even had trouble getting a couple that I wanted. And figured I can watch as people cancel or change plans. But I had forgotten about the people that already had signed up for free dining last September. We were let in on THAT offer, which is a bit iritating. I never could have taken it as work won't approve vacations for us until Feb.

I've pain in the back and over to the side. It makes sleeping really difficult.
Looking back, I wonder if I've had this before. Everyone is the family suffered over Xmas and NY with the nasty virus. I got it and the stomach cramps just got worse after being ill. I was sleeping on a heating pad, or trying to. I finally took a darvocet and a few days later felt okay. Now I'm wondering..... It's the same uncomfortable feeling in the back where I can't or lay in anyway comfortable.

If they can do something about them, I wonder why they keep my friend Deb suffering all the time. Like I said, she always ends up in the hospital with them. Perhaps she passes them before they can?

I did read they can cause high blood pressure, and the Dr. gave me water pills becuase mine was elevated. And it's usually not an issue. I read to, that inactivity can be a cause. I've been active again the last 6 months, but before that I had a Jones fracture and the Surgeon wouldn't put a pin in it, I had to stay in a non weight baring cast for 7 months. Most of it in a wheelchair.

"They" made me suffer with my gall bladder for almost 2 years before they'd take it out.

I think I'm convinced!! lol! I wonder if something shows up in the blood and urine tests? I just have to make it through Wednesday!! the man of my dreams, Jeff Gordon, is going to be in Atlantic City and I'm trying to get off work early to see him!! They can carry me in on a stretcher!! I will be there to see that man!!

If it doesn't get better, I'd see about getting an ultrasound to see!

Costco cakes are delicious! My department head used to order one for every English teacher's birthday. Yum!!!

Yes they are! ::yes::

Thank you all for the hugs concerning my friend. Sadly her sister passed away this morning :sad1: She was only 47 years old :guilty:

I'm so sorry to hear this!

It was very slow at work tonight. Thankfully I was the cocktail waitress. I just washed glasses and did some bar tending and lots of chit chatting. It was fun being behind the bar again.

My mother saw Hunter's room and isn't thrilled with the color choices. I don't really care since Hunter loves it, but couldn't the woman give out a compliment once in a while :confused3 She has Hunter convinced that we are only redoing the house because she told us that we needed too :confused3 I wonder what color the sky is in her world?

I think what you posted seems like it will be perfect for a kids room. If you and Hunter like it, no worries! Still, you're right -- it wouldn't have killed your mom to keep her opinion to herself :)

So DH The Enabler has been telling me I should buy a laptop. :rolleyes1
I usually don't pay that much attention when you guys talk about your laptop woes because I wasn't planning to buy one. So, if you wouldn't mind recapping them for me that would be great! I know there have been lots of keyboard issues, and some other things that needed to be fixed by the warranty. I know Jen is ready to pull her hair out. Please tell me the manufacturers of these lovely machines, tell me what sort of extended service plan you have, where you bought it, etc. We looked at Bast Buy today and I decided the dang things are too expensive! By the time you add all the crap to make it work even the CHEAP one was going to cost over $900!

Thanks! :)

I have had awful experiences, personally, with Toshibas and not so great experiences with gateway notebooks. I had to get a new laptop every year or two through high school and college because I had such trouble with them. I think those I paid between $1000 and $1200.

My Macs have been practically flawless, and we are just getting ready to replace ours in the next year or so after almost 4 years, simply because we want one with a larger capacity. When we got this one new, it was closer to $2000 but was SO worth it, even when we could barely afford it! As for extended service, we don't it with Macs. If you have an Apple store nearby, there is a "Genius Bar" that takes appointments or walk-ins and fixes just about anything, warranty or not (you just, of course, have to pay for the parts of it's out of its initially warranty). The service alone (in store or by phone) would have made the Apple products worthwhile for us, and then the product has been phenomenal as well.

Anyone have a goulash recipe? I have my mom's and I love it but I want to add a couple of spices maybe for Chuck. Mom's is basic - hamburger, tomatoes (or tomato juice), macaroni, onion & garlic powder.

We're back from the in-laws! It was a decent visit. My MIL and SIL certainly still drive me bonkers, and totally get under my skin... but it went quickly, smoothly, and we had plenty to do to keep us all occupied with basketball on. The shower was somewhat chaotic because it was all families (including dads and kids) bringing it to like 35+ people in a really small house, but it was good company (and lots of family we hadn't seen in a while!) and we ended up with some lovely things! :goodvibes

We're just hanging out at home now, watching the tournament, putting toys together (the one of us anyway, that is the most like a big kid ;)), etc. I'm absolutely DREADING my return to work tomorrow after the drama with the audit, but I'm just trying to remember that I have 25 working days there at best/worst. I can do anything that long! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful afternoon, DDA!

Well, six hours after the problem was called in they are still out there digging the hole, the repair hasn't even been started. I think we'll take a ride if we have to use the facilities as we can't flush with no water.

This is the view out of my window, if you look closely you can see a guy in the hole, his head is barely above ground.

Robyn - all I did with the fabric softener is put it in a sparay bottle, I used the wallpaper tool that scrathes holes in it and sprayed it with the softener. Let it sit for a while and it should come off fairly easily, mine was in the bathroom and I had put a second border on top of one and it gave me quite a problem in some areas.

Janet - Great news about Olivia!

I didn't have any problem getting the ADR's I wanted during free dining last year, but we did all character buffets since it was Brandon's trip.

Kristine - We've done the three day Wonder but we didn't do Palo, it was hard enough to get DH to dress for dinner in the dining room. :rotfl:

I know!!! Time is going fast now...I just booked my shore excursions....which was totally confusing to me

I talked with Stephanie and we are going to want to visit Atlantis and not much else but a little shopping. As for Palo, we are going to do the Brunch on the day at sea coming back. We will do the Parasailing while at Castaway Cay. Depending on the spa offerings, I might be spending a lot of free time there.

Oh my goodness! I'm sorry the repair seems like it will take quite a while! :(

How about adding bell peppers and onions?

Glad it wasn't too bad.:thumbsup2

That RV one sounds really great!!!!!

Kristine - Good luck deciding on your excursions!

Vicki - Sounds like your picnic will be a lot of fun!

Debbie - Yikes! Sorry they haven't fixed the water yet! :scared:

I talked to my mom for about an hour and a half. I told her she needs to pull out her cancer insurance and read EXACTLY what it says, she needs to make a list of the documents she needs to have drawn up, and she needs to make a list of questions for the oncologist. She was calling to ask me what we want to do next weekend. I told her it doesn't matter. We aren't going to be there very long! She has to work on Friday so we won't be doing anything until about 3 PM when she finishes. She wants us to come to the school where she works but I think we might just meet her back at her apartment. She wanted us to go see all these other family members but she needs to keep in mind that DS wants to see HER, not a bunch of cousins, etc.

I hope everyone has had a good Sunday! :goodvibes

I spent a long time uploading photos from as long ago as 2003 into my photobucket account. I forgot that I had CDs of these photos and wanted to get them on a site that I could access readily online. How fun to look at all those WDW photos as well as other milestones like HS graduation and NYC trips and family reunion trips. I have really enjoyed myself!

Well the good news is we now have water, the bad news is they left a huge open hole across the street, and that yellow caution tape certainly isn't going to keep the kids away.

We have managed to get the laundry almost finished, and I cleaned the fish tank so today hasn't been a total loss.

Load #6 is in the washer, the first 3 are put away, the 4th is folded and the 5th in the dryer. I would like to do the bath rugs as 1 last load but those are easy.

This shirt is done. The shoulders were a bit trickier than I anticipated but overall it was VERY easy. Too bad is WAY too short. I had some "help" from a cranky sales clerk at JoAnn last night. I don't think she liked me looking at the pattern pieces in the store.:confused3 The pattern only gave requirements for making an entire outfit instead of just a shirt. I knew I wanted to add an inch to the shirt's legnth and she told me 3/4 yard would be more than enough. It wasn't more than 1/2" extra for making it as sized. I figured I would just make it and see how it came out. I was thinking the fabric was $7.99 but it must have been on sale because I only paid $4.?? for it. If I knew it was on sale I think I would have bought more but I don't know if I would have added more than an inch to the pattern. Looking at this on Emma I'm thinking of adding 3 or 4 inches to the next one. Anyone think I should use a contrast for the lining or back? I saw a cute racing checkers or rte 66 fabric on the boutique thread but I didn't see any at JoAnns.

So...here it is:
