Earthquake just woke me up!

My niece who goes to Centre college in Danville, Ky; their dorn was evacuated this am due to the earthquake. Old buildings.

This morning dh gets on the computer and says "It was an earthquake last night!"
I had no idea what he was talking about. He said, "Don't you remember?" Apparently Maggie woke us up growling and then the room started shaking. Dh kept laughing as he's telling the story because he had said "What is that shaking?" and I had replied "It's all shaking" and went right back to sleep!
I do kinda remember this after his reminding me.

I felt it this morning in mid-Michigan. I was sitting on the couch when it began shaking. I thought I just had a touch of vertigo because I'd taken my allergy medicine before eating breakfast--since DH had already left for work, I didn't have anyone to ask if they'd felt it, too. :lmao: I was glad to know it wasn't just me when I heard them talking about it on the news later.

Hope everyone is okay down where it was stronger.

I missed this thread and started my own. Ooops. We're in Indy. It was quite strong here - I thought something really big had fallen onto the roof and was running around up there. :p Freaked out the dogs pretty well too!

Ft Wayne felt it as well. I work up, but not because of feeling anything. The dog lost her mind. Whinning and jumped up on the bed, landing in the middle of my stomach, which is what work me up. One of the other girls in the office, work up because her bed was a moving.

OMG, I am OK. I was just waking up and could feel my bed shake a little. I thought something was wrong with me:rotfl: . Then I thought earth quake. Then I thought I live in Michigan no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good to know that at least it wasn't me.......... Susan

Western Chicago Suburbs...I WAS UP getting ready for the gym and did not feel a thing..but some metal popped out of the road on the Eden's here and is shut it down (at least it was)

I felt it too, the bed shook a little bit, I just thought I was waking up from a dream! My bird was totally freaking out! And my dog was going a little crazy in his cage too!

My mom lives in Indianapolis and said her bed was shaking back and forth.

Pretty cool experience for us Illinoisans!!!! We never get that kind of thing here!

KC felt it. I was in the shower and wasn't awake enough to feel anything but the newscasters said they noticed it and so did a lot of other people. My cat has been freaked out all morning.

Hope everyone's alright! Not the way Nana wants to get awaken for sure!!! :scared1:

Apparently it was centered about 120 miles east of here in Illinios;
Weird, I assummed it was the New Madrid as well. It woke up DH and DS7. I felt it, but was still sleeping. DH was concerned and woke me up. We turned on the news and nothing was reported at the time. I should have come here! What was I thinking! :lmao:

I think DH felt it (he was up). He talked to DD this a.m. before school but I didn't talk to him to hear if he actually felt it here outside Knoxville or not. I slept through it.

He's doing the Ironman in Louisville in August. I hope everything stays quiet and this isn't some sort of pre-quake rumbling.

Hope all are safe!!!

Woke me up here in Tinley Park, IL, south of Chicago. I thought the puppy was jumping on the bed! Very weird.

I felt it also!
I woke up cuz my window and house made a weird noise. It felt strange! The 1st thing I thought that it was an earthquake and then I was like no way! Then I looked at the time and went back to sleep. When I woke up and turned on the news I was was right! I woke up my dh to tell him and of course he actually could sleep through an earthquake!

We thought it was New Madrid too until we saw the news this morning.

Central Indiana here, Indianapolis actually...

It didn't actually wake us up (we didn't think), but it disturbed our animals.

We were all sleeping soundly when our oldest German Shepherd got up and started to pace around the house (out of character for her). Then the puppy started whining in her crate. Next the cat began to meow. DH and I just thought that the oldest dog stirring had woken everyone up and he scolded her about it, telling her to go back and lay down because she woke everyone up.:guilty: I happened to look at the clock when this all occurred and it said 5:38 a.m.

When we got up at 6:15 a.m. and turned on the news, sure enough, the earthquake had happened right at that time.

Kentucky here....we woke up to what we thought was the wind shaking the windows. My husband shot up out of the bed. I had no idea what was going on.
