DDA Chapter 6

Well, I've been to the grocery store this morning. I'm almost $400 poorer. I was stocking our camper for the summer so ended up buying a lot of extra stuff.

My desk is cleared off, and the papers are filed or shredded. The problem is now my back is so sore I can't move! :rotfl2: I need to dust and vacuum in the dining room, then I need to tackle that bathroom.

Vicki - You win on the biggest grocery bill! :scared1: I need to go grocery shopping, too, but that will probably be tomorrow.

Chanon - Sorry you had to work today!

The yard work is done and now I hear a bubble bath calling my name. . . .
I only suffered two ant bites so that's not too bad.

Deb - I looked at the bag on Disney shopping and I love it but it is too small, I found one at Target that will work for $39.99 so I'll probably go with that.

Jen - Sounds like you need to go back to bed and take it easy.

Happy Saturday, DDA!

Sounds like everyone is being productive! I am giving myself another 30 mins. of computer time (waiting for a call back from the GF Bakery, which they have promised at 2 p.m. their time), and then I'll be trying to work on packing and things. Jonathan and I are also going to a Jimmy Buffett concert tonight, so that should be interesting!

Yes, my brother is going to join my mom and me for the first 2 days of our trip. I haven't seen him since late June of last year, so I do think it will be good to see him. He seems to be doing fairly well in Florida, and has been sober, so that is good. But - the 3 of us in close proximity for a few days....needless to say, I'm counting on the Disney magic to really work here.

When my mom decided to come with me on this trip, she thought that we should take a day and drive down to visit my DB (he lives about 3.5 hrs. from Orlando now). I had actually been thinking of seeing if he wanted to come up for a day as an early Mother's Day surprise - we have some rain checks from our soggy MNSSHP last year, giving a day's admission to the MK, which I thought he could use. So, that surprise was ruined, but at least I didn't have to give a day up at Disney! ;)

Well, somehow, 1 day turned into 2 days. He just got his FL driver's license yesterday, so he'll be able to get a 1-day PH for a significantly cheaper price than regular guests.

I have also been dealing the last few days in trying to order a special Mother's Day surprise cake for my mom to be delivered to our room. Needless to say, it is not proving very easy, and I'm really disappointed that they don't seem to have a lot of creativity. You know it's there - they do all those great wedding cakes! And I'm not asking them to do it for a pittance, either - I'm willing to pay for a nice cake. We'll see what the latest call this afternoon produces.

For those of you looking for a bag for your laptops - I actually looked and looked, and didn't find one I liked, as computer bags were a bit restrictive. What I ended up doing was buying a padded sleeve for my laptop, and then I just slip that in any bag I'm carrying.

we did almost $300 worth and we don't have a camper to stock:rotfl2:

I looked at the size wrong and got Cassidy a WAY too big of Crocs for $14.88...we gotta return em.:headache: I hate going grocery shopping on Saturday mornings but Jim is going into work at 2 instead of 4....Rockies must have scored more than 7 runs last night:rotfl: Jim is working a second job at Taco Bell.

Lindsay - I hope you can get a nice cake!

I am finished (mostly) with the dining room. I have the tablecloth in the washer. I almost killed the vacuum cleaner. I got the corner of the dustrag and the vacuum tried to devour the whole rag! :scared: DH had to help me do a little vacuum maintenance after that but I think it is OK now. :rolleyes1 Who knew the dining room would be ALMOST as dangerous as the kitchen?

I've been picking up extra stuff for months. I kept tossing it in the camper as I knew that it would be pricey to do it all at once. I still have a lot to buy, but I'm better than usual for this time of year.

We managed to untap the entire orchard in about 2 hours :cool1: I am so glad to have that behind us. It usually takes much longer so I guess we had pixie dust behind us today :cool1:

I came home and searched online for a nice race scanner for Chris. That will be his father's day/birthday present. Last year he borrowed one, but since the race here is a week before the Daytona Race that he is attending, all his buddies will be needing them here. Oh well he will have them for future years too. I made sure to order a scanner with 2 headsets in case I go again :rolleyes1

Chris has gone with my Dad to pick up a tractor that Dad bought at an auction. It is an old farm tractor. I guess he plans to use it at camp to haul wood out :confused3 Chris also had a call from the Lacrosse Program that the boys are playing in. They asked him to be an assistant coach :cool1:  He was so happy when I left. He had been disappointed earlier when they said they didn't need him.

Overall I guess It's been a good day. I need to go shopping later, but I'll wait for Chris to come home to watch the boys. It will be much nicer going by myself.

I've heard you guys talking about the diver at Coral Reef holding up signs. I'm thinking that might be fun as an early anniversary suprise for Chris. How would I go about trying to do that? I may order a cake at some point too. My nephews birthday is the first whole day that we are there, but we don't have a TS meal planned that day. I may pick a different day and have one delivered. Maybe at WCC. Who would I contact to get a cake delivered there?

Here you go, Deb! All the information you could want about cakes and more...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219

I don't know if the information for the diver/sign is in that thread or not. It's been a while since I read it.

I need to decide whether to get a cake for Laura. The diver with the sign, and the personalized menu at Coral Reef sound great, but I know that neither of my younger two would be overly happy with the menu there.

Make the adr...

then call the coral reef 407-560-6784 and tell them you want a diver...they will tell you if that time slot is open...after that they will give you an email address....(I have a better email that goes directly to a manager...so if you get to that point...let me know

Karen, thanks for the Kansas City contact. I haven't done too much more on that trip yet. I did book rooms at Yellowstone for three nights, so Monday or Tuesday I will get some more dates in line.

Well, I have our La Nouba tickets for June 11th at 6pm. We also got Crystal Palace when we wanted it. I had to move some things around to get the times I wanted for WCC and Tusker House. I'm not sure I like the way it looks now.

Those darn mid-day parades are a pain to fit in with a break at the resort. We all definitely need the down time. We are not go-go-go people.

Please review and let me know what you think.

Friday arrive MCO at 11:30am, resort by 1pm, MK parade at 3pm, Spectro 9, Wishes 10, MK EMH so open to 2am

Saturday HS at opening, Star Wars Parade at 11:30, leave for resort by 1, head back to HS when rested and stay to closing (8), take boat to Epcot for Illuminations at 9, take monorail to MK just for the ride and a shorter line for buses back to OKW

Sunday CRT at 8:10, MK til 12:30, rest and get to AK parade for 4pm, stay until closing (8), go to MK for EMH if desired

Monday Typhoon Lagoon at opening until 12:30 or 1pm, WCC at 5pm, FW Fire 6:30, Sing-along 7:00, Movie 7:40, EWP 9:45

Tuesday AK for opening, Tusker House 10:15, resort by 1:30pm, rest and on to Epcot to eat around the world, Epcot has EMH to 12

Wednesday Epcot at opening, Resort by 1:30, rest and head to DTD, Cirque at 6pm, hang out at DTD or head to HS with EMH to 1am

Thursday BB EM at 8am, Resort by 12:30, Katrina & Becky leave, HS Parade by 3, HS Fantasmic 7, boat to Epcot, hang out at Epcot EMH until 12

Friday MK at opening, Crystal Palace at 1:05, resort by 3, leave open - maybe head to DTD Disney Quest or MK for EMH until 2am

Saturday - Chuck & I leave, Sister, Niece, Nephew and Mom move to Pop for the night, they can do whatever they want to go back and see

I think I'm trying to do too much. I want to make sure we do the important things but get the rest we need so that they aren't worn out by the end.

You will love La Nouba! Where are you eating dinner that night?

The parades are a pain. I don't like the current MK one, so that makes it easier! :rotfl2: We have seen the AK one, but I still like it. And at 4 PM it might be a little easier to see if you take an early break or get a late start. I do want to see that Block Party Bash this summer. I think it runs more than once, doesn't it?

Chuck, I & the girls have done LaNouba and absolutely loved it. My niece really wants to see it so mom is treating all of us.

We will do counter service for LaNouba night. We will probably do Earl of Sandwich and/or Wolfgang Puck Express. That has been the other interesting thing about this trip. I'm trying to keep it as inexpensive as I can for my sister but get some things in there that will be fun for the kids and save character lines.

We are doing CRT breakfast, Crystal Palace lunch, WCC dinner and Tusker House breakfast. We do have DDE so that will save some money.

I know there isn't really a bad seat for LaNouba but now that I've booked and got our seats, I'm second guessing myself. We got section 205 GG 7-14. We were in section 202 BB (closest to the 203 section) on the last trip and they were awesome seats.
