Let's track the EB PC cruise here

That is beautiful!!!

Did you see the sunrise? I didn't but DH was always up early. These are from PC day.

I didn't notice the double rainbow until I enlarged the picture to post here!

I know that he has a few more with rainbows but not sure which day they were.

The lower clouds look like the outline of a ship in this one.

Here's another rainbow to end the day after that horrible storm.

I agree!! My kids knew from an early age that if we told them not to go in such and such area of the ship and they did then they would spend the rest of the cruise looking at the 4 walls of the stateroom. They are older now and still respect those rules.

Hi Laura, Elizabeth and Bobby were great. How are they doing? While we were on CC, Elizabeth and some kids were sitting there talking, she asked me several times if they were bothering us and if they should move.

They say that the adult areas on the new ships, well at least the adult pool will have card access. That will be nice.

Yes, we all caught the sunrise on PC day -- beautiful. Although our youngest didn't appreciate being up so early so he just slept on Deck 10! We also saw and have a picture of the morning rainbow, but not the afternoon one. I'd love to post more pictures, but I only have just a few at work. I'll be posting more this weekend to a photosharing site.

Loving all the pictures everyone has been posting here and on the picture site. They make me smile and wish I had seen so many of them in action. This trip was an awesome and wonderful vacation, let us all remember the fun we had finally meeting up. I hate that Stace's thread about the good on our trip was closed because it turned ugly---let that be the only one for us.:sad2:

We are all going to have different perspectives on the "happenings" on the ship, either because we witnessed it in person or had others tell us about them. Some folks were in hallways that the kids stayed out of--some were not so lucky. Cheryl and K (Thank you!) volunteered to take on the huge task of the dining, there is no way that everyone can be satisfied with their rotations, eating times or where their tables are located. People's choices about the clothing or bathing suits they were--are just that. That's why there are so many selections when it comes to clothing in the stores. We are all different and have our own personalities--we shouldn't "bash" others.

Just please don't change the facts to make something someone else's fault---and let upsets and misunderstandings be what they are---in the big picture they are little things. Everyone one of us was treated to 15 nights --some 20:goodvibes of not having to clean or cook and having the cm of DCL try their best to make this a MAGICal vacation for all.

I have been sitting here this morning watching the memorial ceremonies for September 11, 2001 and watching the path of hurricane Ike. Prayers are going out for all those who are effected. I sure hope our Texas and LA folks will be okay. This is something to be sad or angry about--not your vacation.

Very well said Paula - thanks for the reminder.

Did anybody else see the "ship" in the clouds one day? We were out on the verandah, and there were clouds in the almost perfect shape of a ship, complete with funnels! If not, I'll see if I can get Tony to find it and post the photo. I've been loving all the pics. here.

I've also enjoyed the GORGEOUS photos posted!
I'd love to see your cloud photo too. :)

I don’t normally put in my two cents but in the case I felt the need to.

First of all, the adult pool is just that. ADULT!! The sign outside the pool area says “This area is restricted to guests over the age of 18”. Therefore, if you are an adult, then you have the right to use the pool. The sign does not say that the pool is restricted to those who wish to not be splashed or to sit on the edge of the pool and read a book or sip their chamomile tea. It doesn’t say that you can’t do those things but neither does it say that you can’t have fun in the pool. There is no sign telling people to not have a good time or to enjoy playing around in the pool. I am sorry, if you don’t want to be splashed. Don’t get in the pool. There is water there. There are people swimming. The ship rocks. There will be waves. You might get wet. If you don’t want to get splashed, you don’t ride on Splash Mountain, same thing applies here. If you don’t want to get splashed don’t go in the pool. There is a warning sign on Splash Mountain, maybe the DCL people thought everyone was smart enough to realize a pool had water in it.

Just because the pool is an adult pool does not mandate that it is QUIET. I don’t see the people who were having fun and enjoying the games and play at the pool complaining about those who didn’t participate. I was at the pool every sea days from as early as I could get there to as late as I could stay before dinner. I never participated in any of the group activities, but I didn’t feel threatened or insulted by those who chose to engage. I even managed to read my book in the pool. I did make sure it was a book that I wasn’t concerned about getting wet, because I knew ahead a time that if I chose to read in the pool area, I might get splashed. If DCL didn’t want people to have a great time at the adult pool they wouldn’t have organized pool games and they also wouldn’t have a fully stocked bar in the pool area. They would serve tea and crumpets and play opera music only. Maybe some of the activities of others in the pool were too much for you. That is really too bad that you couldn’t realize how great it was that so many people who had never met before this cruise could have such a great time enjoying each other’s company. I found that wonderful and a great blessing.

In fact, what better place to let loose and allow your inner child to come out and play than on a DISNEY vacation. Wasn’t it Walt Disney himself that said "Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either."

As to the pool attire of some of the guest, so what? You have to remember that DCL is open to anyone. There are people from countries that have completely different views on clothing not to mention pool wear or lack of. What some may see as “too much skin” maybe normal to others? What gives anyone the right to question what others see as normal? I might not always like what I see but I don’t feel the need to assume that those people don’t have as much right to use the adult pool as I do. I noticed that some who found the women wearing thongs objectionable didn’t seem to mind and actually found it amusing that there was a Speedo parade of men around Palo’s. This by the way is not a strictly adult area. You can’t have it both ways.

I am sorry if some feel that your children would be scarred forever from seeing such things. Hmmm. My kids have certainly seen bottoms before. In fact, on an excursion in Aruba, while on a boating trip, similar to Jolly Pirates, there was a catamaran of people that pulled alongside us. They were all very friendly and all very naked. What could we do? Complain to guest services? Demand our money back? Not hardly. We can’t control everything and neither can they. It certainly would be a boring world if we all thought and acted the exact same way.

I guess it could be requested that DCL put up more signs that tell people to be quiet at the pool and to not wear Speedo’s or Thongs. Or post security to make sure people are not having too much fun, but then I think maybe we should also have signs posted outside of the Walt Disney Theater asking parents to not bring in their young children who might possible kick the chair in front of them or laugh to loud, or talk during a performance. Maybe they need security roaming the aisles looking for the adults who aren’t monitoring their noisy children well enough. Maybe they need officers controlling the lines for photo opportunities for those who feel that they can cut in line or take 50 pictures of their kids and care less about the 100 or more people still waiting to get a picture taken before they rush off to dinner or a show. How about having an officer standing outside of Animator’s Palette, Lumiere’s and Parrot Cay telling those that think it is okay to wear shorts and printed t-shirts to find a place at Topsiders or one of the other choices on Deck 9, to eat instead, since it clearly states in the Navigator that proper attire is required and no shorts, please. Or maybe the overweight people should be told not to take so much food from the buffets , since I am sure there are some that might find them offensive too. Seriously, how far do you want to take it? I am just thrilled that there is a place where we can go and have a great time and actually enjoy the differences of others and learn about other cultures.

Let the Church say AMEN!!

Great Post Laura!! Thank you for putting into words exactly how I felt about our most wonderful cruise. I know how hard we worked to get there, and we had an awesome time. I thought it was great that most people were on the ship long enough to get the stick out:goodvibes I had a great time at the pool with the DCL Sponsored Pool Games and the others. It was nice of them to recognize that Adults need a little recreation too. There were plenty of places on the ship for everyone. If I wanted tranquility I went to the rainforest room or deck 4. I met a great bunch of people and we didnt know anyone before we embarked.

Todd and Melissa are 2 of the most wonderful people we have ever met. Always welcoming, never "cliquish" or excluding. I didnt know them from Adam but we had a great time and Melissa made it a point to take time out of her fun to say hello everytime she saw us.:wizard:

We all worked and waited so long for this vacation and I felt everyone had a right to enjoy it the way they wanted. If that meant laying around in a Speedo all day, so be it. Mine was spent at the spa, the pool and RBD!
How often do any of us get to be away for 15 nights or more so it made me happy to be part of such a blessed group.

And I agree with how different cultures view nudity. We went to Eagle Beach in Aruba and it was topless. Didnt know it, didnt have the inclination to go anywhere else so we explained to the kids that not all cultures view nudity as a bad thing and not to worry, I assured them Momma wasnt going topless and we had a great time at the beach and Im glad we stayed. I think my kids learned something and it wasnt "nasty" or "seedy" :wizard:

That's why we travel. To be exposed to new things. Not all of it will fit into our mold.

"A Traveler does not know where they're going and a Tourist does not where they've been" ---cant think of his name right now.:goodvibes

I am just thrilled that there is a place where we can go and have a great time and actually enjoy the differences of others and learn about other cultures.

pirate: BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!pirate:

I saw a few bare bottoms on our excursion in Aruba, too.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When our kids were younger, a taxi driver accidentally took us to a naked beach in St Martin. I think I was more scarred than my kids were. Now every time I see that cell phone commercial about the family stumbling onto the naked beach, I can't help but chuckle and relate!

P.S. I wasn't really scarred.

Did anybody else see the "ship" in the clouds one day? We were out on the verandah, and there were clouds in the almost perfect shape of a ship, complete with funnels! If not, I'll see if I can get Tony to find it and post the photo. I've been loving all the pics. here.

We saw that, too. Wasn't it amazing?

I wonder what people would think if they realized that there is a nudist colony VERY close to WDW. My friends and I used to go there for the art show because visitors can wear their clothes at that event. Tons of nudity and not too many hard bodies...a thong is tame by comparison! I saw the thong at the adult pool and the only thing that disturbed me about it was imagining how it would drive me nuts when it went up my butt. :rotfl:

Considerably more disturbing was the number of men who really needed to be wearing bras. Seriously, a woman would be arrested for indecent exposure but there were plenty of "man ****s" that had to be at least a B cup, if not a C. Ugh!

I dunno about anyone else, but I had a blast at that cruise and didn't find the antics at the adult pool to be detrimental to my enjoyment. Maybe I need to develop a thinner skin. ;)

I knew about that place...I used to have relatives that lived there.

I had a blast too and would love to do it again in a heartbeat!
