:lmao: :lmao: Well, if the shoe fits...

*****

On a completely different and terribly sad note, Scot, my dh, just witnessed a pedestrian being struck by an SUV near the Old City of Jerusalem. Mass chaos broke out as people tried to flee the scene due to the awful accident that happened the other night. Scot said he never saw a body so mangled. :sad1: The woman was still moving...

Scot came home from his meeting completely shaken up. He said he didn't understand why because he worked in a max security PA state prison and saw lots of violence. But he just said it was awful.

Praying that the woman and the driver are okay. It was a UN car...and praying that all the witnesses can forget what they saw.:sad2:

I don't want to put a damper on the festivities. Just thought I'd share with my fellow snowbirds since you are becoming like friends.:goodvibes

That is horrible Peaches!! Please let you hubby know he's in my thoughts and prayers and that is not something that is pleasant to deal with!!!

Jenjolt~
You are a genius!!!! I have found that the older I get the more I loooove Science! I think life has a lot to do with it. That & the fact that I had the most BORING Science teachers ever created!!!!!! I really started to love it in college in the A & P classes. I would love to go back & take those again. My kids think I am nerdy anyway-----I am an unashamed bookworm and love Science and Algebra. So, I guess I am an official book-nerd!! And proud of it!!

Trixie~
I know!!! I thought about it when I saw my ticker!! After today, no more 4!!

Guys stop you're making me turn red all over!!! I just have a love for science and math and I'm with you I'm officially a book-nerd...heck let's be honest I'm just a nerd!!

However I'm so envious of trixie who can form a perfect sentence! Oh to be able to embrace the rules of grammar and to actually know what a prepositional phrase is instead of just a really big English word that makes me sound smart!!

Yup, they still have the computer labs. I enjoy it just fine most of the time. Yesterday, I wasn't really in the mood for it, because we had a test on Monday, so my brain was at overload level. Last night I had some chill time though. I got on here and went to bed early, so I don't feel as overwhelmed anymore.

That is so awesome!! I must say I miss K-State campus its such a beautiful place!! I spent a lot of time obviously in Akert, King, and the Chemistry/Biochemistry Building..man going upstairs was kind of scary in those buildings!!

.........got it.... found this cute little snowbird today.....

Love it! We should all wear these along with our LGMHs. :cool1:

I'm getting such a kick out of the old photos. My dad has all the ones from my first WDW trips (1972-1976)...on slides! Yep, I'm that old :rotfl: I'll see what I can dig up here. In 1987, two friends and I went to WDW after HS graduation, and I was chosen to participate in the Hoop-De-Doo...as a can-can dancer! :lmao: (I've always been a shy, quiet one, so way out of character for me! Good photo op, though!)

Did you ever go downstairs in the Vet/Med building? They have old surgical tools down there, it's creepy.

The campus isn't as pretty as it used to be. I don't know if you heard about the tornado that came through a few months ago. It annihilated a lot of the beautiful trees. All the gorgeous oak trees behind Waters and Cardwell are gone. It did some damage to some buildings as well. We still have construction crews repairing the damage.

We have been to WDW several times and we got married there in 2000. This will be out first Jan trip, we usually visit anytime from Sept to Dec. We are spending a few nights at SSR then of to a villa then back to the GF for our last few nights! This will be our DD first trip she will be 10mths! Our DS (3) has been a few times!:)

Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and prayers. Scot is okay, but I found out he nearly passed out at our friend's house. :sad2: I'm going to search the news to see if I can find out what happened to the poor woman.

Please let me add my condolences to the list  So sorry your poor DH had such a rough day! You all are so brave and wonderful to be over there doing what you do! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! Hopefully your DH will not be TOO affected by what he saw today - I will pray that he sleeps well tonite! :goodvibes

January 13th: Boma, 7 p.m.
January 14th: Ohana's, 10:15 a.m.
January 15th: Sci-Fi Dine In, 5 p.m.
January 16th......we go home

Today's dilemma that DH and I are struggling with.....the budgeting has gone much better than planned :cheer2: and we can now afford to stay at AKL or WL. Is is worth the extra $$'s from POR :confused3 ? Any wise words from the rest of you Snowbirds is much appreciated!!!!

I would normally say AKL is well worth the extra money if you can afford it, however the sunset savannahs is closed from Jan. 15th to April 15th.
If you can get a room on one other savannahs it is totally worth the money!:thumbsup2:
POR is a beautiful resort, but AKL is on a whole new level of awesome! I would also say if you don't plan on being in the hotel much, it may not be worth the money b/c AKL is an attraction in itself.

Actually I have to give my dad some props here. He was the one who insisted that we not end sentences with prepositions! The first time I wrote the sentence it was something like...Does anybody know who is in charge of which smileys we get to choose from? So I backspaced away and fixed it and sounded like a snob. :snooty:

That last sentence was a run-on. Does that make you feel better? :rotfl2:

I'm impressed with Becca's spelling! Wow, I wouldn't have been able to come up with annihilated on my own. She did spell it right; I looked it up. Talk about a nerd! :sad2:

Where's the nerd smiley???

I'm actually considering POFQ for my next trip to Disney (yes I said next trip)! I hoping to go the first week of December so I can see the world at Christmas. This time I think I might bring my mom along..although after looking at the Wilderness Lodge site it might be time to splurge!!

Soleil, I want to see a ton of pics when you get back so I can make this tough decision!!! LOL!!!:rotfl:

Hi Jen,

I think POFQ is a beautiful resort - we stayed there LOTS of times. It's very lush and compact. It only has one pool, but if you go in December, then it won't matter much, since I'm guessing you would use a lot of down time to tour other resorts. The WL looks fantastic for a Christmas decoration stay!

I was in the Spelling Bee in fourth grade.
Actually, annihilated is one of my favorite words. However, that instance of use I used spell check.

Yeah my dad was a first responder over in Chapman. My parents still live off of Milford Lake so I got a lot of pictures. I was saddened to hear about a lot of the damage to the K-State Campus!! GO Wildcats!!

Well I just have to say ......... My Goodness, you all have been a chatty bunch for the last 98 mins. I left to go for a walk on this lovely fall day and come back to find 2 MORE PAGES! If you keep this up we'll reach 250 by midnight tonite! :thumbsup2

QOTD - since it has been almost 15 yrs since I was last at Disney, and even then it wasn't me in charge of the planning, this is a whole new ball game for me! I have been fair obsessed with planning the perfect Disney trip since just after our wedding! That was more than 9 years ago! I have read almost evey book there is to read, checked out almost ALL of the websites devoted to Disney, and subscribed to UG! I figure that between all that and chatting with "those that have gone before me" I have More than enough information to plan a wonderful trip for my family! :)

 There are not words Trixie!! I just love you!! You are amazing and always bring a smile to my face!!! Let's not even go over my spelling, grammar is a big enough issue to deal with!! Although we could have an entire therapy session on my excessive compulsive need to use the exclamation point! Where is distherapy?? I might need a couch session!:rotfl:
