DDA Chapter 17

I just went and made one ;) May 15-23 at CBR

I love that ticker! You'll be there for my birthday and Miles' birthday, too! I haven't stayed at CBR, since September, 1990 when I was pregnant with Matthew. We really liked it then, and it looks even better now. What a great time to look forward to!

With all the peanut butter recalls are you still eating PB from the jar? Right now theres no recall on the jars, just in cookies, bars, etc but I am concerned as Sophie eats a ton of PB.

No we are not, I told John no PB of any kind until they get this mess cleaned up.

That's great!!!!

Thanks, everyone! :hyper: :cheer2:

Finally caught up. Let's see what I remember.

Amy - Poor Alyssa! I hope the second antibiotic works for her.

Tammi - what a stressful day. Glad it ended well.

Becky - I'm so glad you're mom is home! I'll continue to pray that all will be well with her.

Deb - I hope you start to feel better soon! How is Hunter? Those bumps on the head can be awfully scary.

Tom - have a fabulous trip! I can't wait to hear all about it and see the pictures.

Stephanie - I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip! I'll just cross my fingers that you can schedule another one in it's place.

Anne Marie - I haven't worried too much about the peanut butter in jars. Perhaps I should, but I won't unless there's a recall.

Beth - I think Laura made a good call on the calendar. Sounds to me like a bunch of teenage girls who want to show off their bodies to the boys. I'm sure that's who will be receiving the calendars. Especially since it's not sanctioned by the school. Kind of fishy!

Kelli - Congrats on your May trip! I can't wait to hear all about your plans.

Well, things here are a bit wonky! Timothy is not doing so well. He's got terrible stomach pain, and I think he's a bit constipated. He was awake ALL night last night, just screaming. He would relax when we massaged his tummy, and I actually got him to sleep for a half an hour by walking the length of the house over and over with him. Consequently, I didn't sleep at all last night either. Top that off with Mary coming to our room around 1:00 to tell us that her ears hurt. She was crying and couldn't sleep. Alan dealt with her while I dealt with Timothy. I was able to get her to the doctor this morning, and she has a raging double ear infection. We got her antibiotic, gave her the first dose, and 45 minutes later, she threw up. I think most of the antibiotic was absorbed since her barf wasn't pink, so hopefully she'll start to feel better soon.

Anyway, that's where we are. I'm planning on napping some this afternoon, but don't know how much sleep I'll get. Wish me luck!

Yes, we are still eating jars of peanut butter....if you are worried about any PB product just call the 1-800 number on the package and they can tell you if their product is part of the recall.

It does seem to be just paste products.

We're still eating peanut butter from the jar. Matthew and Laura eat peanut butter sandwiches every day for lunch. So far no jarred peanut butter has turned up on a recall list.

I haven't fed anyone the peanut granola bars that we have, though. I haven't seen Nature Valley granola bars on a recall list. Has anyone else? I'm still uncertain on them, though, and would rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks, Glynis! So far my children have been pretty sensible, but I still hold my breath sometimes.

I sure hope that you get your nap and that Timothy and Mary feel better! I am so glad that we are all done with liquid medicines here.

There have been a few things recalled that have peanut ingredients other than the paste, but most are things made with peanut paste. Good idea about calling the toll-free number. I may make a call to General Mills to double check the Nature Valley granola bars.

ETA: I checked General Mills website, and Nature Valley bars are not on the recall list.

Oh no Stephanie, sorry. :grouphug:

Stephanie, I hope you can reschedule!

I just by chance got the stupid video to pop up on the $1 hotel deal, my timer had just a little over a minute. So no go here :sad2:

My heart was racing for a minute though :rotfl:

I am really eager to hear how these ressies turn out when people actually get to the hotels.

Anne Marie - your Funny of the Day was hysterical!

Deb - I was hoping to hear that you felt better this morning. And now I am worried about Hunter! :grouphug:

Anne Marie - That was funny!

Deb - Feel better!

YAY!!

With all the peanut butter recalls are you still eating PB from the jar? Right now theres no recall on the jars, just in cookies, bars, etc but I am concerned as Sophie eats a ton of PB.

We are still eating our jarred PB. I am pretty sure that plant they are looking at does not make peanut butter in jars.

Poor Timothy, Mary and mom!!:grouphug:

Glynis, I hope things are improving!

Honestly, we're even eating the granola bars, etc. The first thing we heard about was Austin PB crackers and we had eaten one of the package without issue, so we keep eating those, too. If we have issues that look like salmonella, we'll stop. If I had a very small child (toddler) I might worry because they can get dehydrated so easily, but salmonella is not going to kill us as healthy adults! ;)

We've eaten several flavors of ice cream that have been recalled just as we've finished them off. So far, no problems here. Salmonella really isn't fun and not something I ever wish to experience again, but I'm also not too worried about it. Of course, I am also the one that finished off an open container of Peter Pan peanut butter during that recall since the first quarter of the jar hadn't hurt us any.

I am being extremely vigilant at the preschool, though. Those are little kids that could get really ill, and one is immunocompromised following a liver transplant. Plus there is that whole liability issue, but I am more concerned with their health than my liability.

Hope both Timothy and Mary feel better soon and that the others don't get sick. pixiedust: :grouphug: pixiedust: :grouphug:

I was a sickly baby/child and not much better as an adult, I take no chances no matter how irrational. :upsidedow
