6/13/2009 Western on Magic

For us, the location on deck 2 forward is good. DS will be on the same floor for ocean quest, and the forward elevators take you straight up to the quiet cove and adult pool, where I'll be. DD will hopefully be allowed in the stack. (she'll be a few months shy but she looks older and is very mature.) I would have loved to have a split bath with the 3 of us in the room, but I can always take my showers in the gym (heard the water pressure there is really good!). And if we do go to Nassau, I am prob going to stay on the ship and enjoy some more spa services! I've never been to Atlantis, but I think I would rather enjoy the (hopefully) empty ship.

I got 6th deck too, besides the fact that they're no windows- I like the location. It's right by some elevators, and below the lab- I hope it's not to loud- but we always bring a noise machine anyway.

Yeah!! where are you all, then. I wonder if you all are right near us.
My mom stayed last time in the one right next to the elevators and no problem with any noise at all.
It is a Great place to be for cat 11's!!
and we are even more lucky that we have all 4 rooms right in a row!!

We got 2518 and 2520 connecting Cat 9 on deck 2. DH called to tell me, so I haven't seen where they are. Most excited for connecting. Now DH and I don't have to split up at night! Thanks, DCL!

We are Deck 5, 5135 and 5137, cat. 11. I am happy with that.

I think those are GREAT rooms!! Cat 9!! You saved even more money!!

Or is that at the other ports it will be easier for you? I thought being on Deck 1 did have the pro to that either on all ports or CC?

I am not sure. I guess we will just have to wait and see. The split bath is nice and the fact that they both sleep 4 will make DD Brooklyn happy to sleep on the top bunk. It was a gamble, I took it and now I just have to accept it. My daughters ABA therapist is here right now laughing at me bc I am crying over this!

I just realized I had my passporter in my trunk. Wow! We get the big port hole window and are right below Diversions which should be quiet. Now I am really excited. DCL is smart. I am sure we will want an outside room every time now and spend more $. Now I can order the room decorations for the kids' b'day. And we will only be doing on FE for both staterooms.

I went ahead and reserved rooms at Comfort Suites jic.

Rate is kind of hi so wondering if people have started booking in anticipation.

I know it's stupid, but I am upset about our assignment, too, so I know how you feel. I really, really wanted a Cat 9 or a Cat 11 Deck 7 aft and my TA made a mistake and now I am the one who has to "pay" for it, not her.

5505, right next to Diane's, 5501... Trouble is that our TA crossed-referenced our cabins which was supposed to be for DINNER seating and it messed us up as far as ressies go. DCL thought they were being nice by giving us side-by-side cabins but we think it may have hindered our ability to get the coveted Cat 9's. Our TA should have held off on linking until assignments were made, IMO, which is what is really upsetting me (more than the stinky cabin).

I suppose if you aren't happy you could ask at the port what is available. I think the entertainers often stay on deck 1-maybe you'll be next to one of them. At least the rooms are together. did you check to see what is still avaiable after the rooms were given out today? Sounds like deck 2 is the Dis floor!!

Deck 6 is a great location in my opinion- I always take the stairs so from 6 it is only 3 flights up to the pool and 2 or 3 down to dinner.

Now I am feeling I should have done more for the FE if everyone has a cabin and child gift-uh oh

Ok so now that I am done sobbing! (not literally but close enough, LOL)

We got upgraded in DCL minds, just not my mind! LOL We got side by side cabins (which I am thankful for), they are CAT 10 (which I am also thankful for) but they are on DECK 1!!! UGH!

So thank you DCL for my *upgrade* ... Now can you please return my money to my checking account for switching my rooms to CAT 12's so I can fully enjoy this *upgrade* LOL

Can't wait to be cruising!!!!!

I am sorry you are disappointed. How much would it cost to upgrade at the port? Or "downgrade" to a 11?

I got category 9 rooms 2536 and 2538. Reports say they are noisy, but I can sleep thru anything... (I have twins, believe me I learned to sleep when I could!)

looks like 2538 & 2540 are connecting... wish we would have gotten that,... But I'm not complaining...

Ok, dumb question...I think I got an upgrade but how do I know what category it is? Cabin #2032

We are all right together!

Just checked and we were upgraded to a cat 9 on deck 2. We are in 2556 and my parents are in 2558. Check your reservations they are starting to assign!

We are 18 cabins apart!

Just checked our rooms. No upgrade. Got #2013 and #2015 which are cat 12's so 2 def claimed for. No upgrade but we're sailing DCL at a big discount! I'm happy!
Though we may upgrade at port! W'ell see!

can't the TA do anything? I guess when you are linked they figure you want to be near each other.
