Wow! we could've used that...

Toilet paper because I seem to be allergic to the stuff that's in the hotel rooms. :scared1: I learned the hard way the first year and was very uncomfortable. I've never had a problem at any other hotel so I had no idea.

For those coming from the north where it's winter right now...don't forget your epipen if you're allergic to bees!!!

I can't even tell you how invaluable these tips have been. I read them before our first family trip Spring break 2009 and it really saved us (we used the disposable ponchos on our first day b/c of rain). I also LOVED the over the door shoe rack. We actually used it for shoes (we stayed at the family suites at ASMu so we had plenty of bathroom counter space). But a family of 5 has a LOT of shoes and this saved floor space.

We found that backpacks were our best park bag option. They carry a lot and have lots of nooks and crannys (just make sure to open every zipper before you get to the check ins at the entrances - saves time). Extra hats would have been helpful (son lost his first day).

Water bottles with crystal light or koolaide were also hugely helpful and will be must haves on our next trip.

I've found that one of the best options is to have a "Disney" box or bag that has everything saved from the last trip (including those $30 wizard hats the kids had to have) so that we can repack them for our next trip. Dollar store lighted necklaces, autograph books and pens, t-shirts, extra ponchos, etc. are all there and ready to go....just add a few "replacements"

:-)

Can't wait for MVMCP 2010!!!!!!!

For our last trip in 2007 (our first with kids), I got engraved ID tags made at a pet store (the machine at Walmart never works) for my kids who were 2 and 5. I put only their first names on the front and my and my husband's cell phone numbers on the back. They were shiny pink.

I worried that if they somehow were separated from the 4 adults following them around, the 5 yr old wouldn't have spoken even under threat of death, and, of course, the 2 year old couldn't have given a phone number.

The necklaces I put them on broke before we even got into WDW, and we bought stretchy hairbands to put them on.

We still have them and use them whenever we're going to be a really crowded public situation.

The writing is also small enough that a stranger couldn't read it at a reasonable distance and lure the kids by calling their name.

wet feet = unhappy people

It has been my understanding you can no longer buy the palmolive dishwipes. At least in my area.

But if you take papertowels and wet them, put dishsoap on and let dry...it works. Personally...I just take a 4 oz bottle of dishsoap and use the hotel washclothes.
- You use hotel washclothes to wash dishes YUCK. After finding a hair from a private part on a clean hotel washcloth I can not bring myself to use the hotel washcloth. I bring my own washcloth. I just can imagine using a hotel washcloth that has touched another persons body as a way to wash dishes.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but its worth mentioning again:

The best tip I ever got from these boards is to bring an over the door shoe organizer. We stay in the values without much counter space. Its great and holds just about everything. And I'm sure housekeeping appreciates it too.

This is one of the best tips. We have done it for the last five trips and it makes things so much easier and less cluttered.

When we stay at the All Stars we have to bring an inflatible twin mattress. The boys are getting too big to share every night.

Water mix-ins (crystal Light, kool aid etc)

Power strip - too many electronic items to charge each night.

Where are you guys finding inexpensive over the door shoe holders?

FYI - My local Dollar Tree had jumbo Disney pens when I was there today. Good for those character autographs.

We found one at our local Dollar Tree store. It only worked for 2 trips (the stitching kept coming out of the pockets) but it was well worth it and for the price it wouldn't be bad to replace every couple of years.

I got my over the door shoe organizer at Wal-mart for $12.00.

Water shoes!

We didnt think we would need them but we did!

Lots of camera and video memory cards! I had ours burned at Epcot and they lost a bunch!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is extra hangers. There is never enough in the hotel closet, and not enough room in the drawers for all of our clothes. We usually stay 10+ days, so I pack a lot of clothes. The best hangers I have found are Huggable Hangers. They are slim and light, for packing. I have used them for our last 3 trips. They have been very useful.

Also I have a 2 yr. old, so I always pack disposable bibs, disposable stick on place mats, and disposable plastic toddler utensils and sippy cups.

One last tip: Our last 2 trips I have shipped a box to our resort full of snacks, water, paper towels and other odds and ends that we will use up before the end of our trip.

Love this thread! We'll be in WDW in March and I need to start making my lists in order to make sure all is bought, packed, shipped, etc.
I kept reading all the tips about the over-the-door-organizer, not believing that we would really need this. However, the more posts I read stating how much it was used, I'm thinking of getting my tail over to the Dollar Tree for one of these. A family of 5 (3 being adults) surely would use it, right?
