What is the Origin of Your DIS Screen Name?

Mine is from another website so I won't mention it..... :sad2:

......... but you can imagine it if you drop the "er" !

From Alice in Wonderland's story of the Curious Little Oysters or The Walrus and the Carpenter as told by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

Mine actually came for one of the big bosses at work. He thinks we have some kind of crazy Disney addiction;). He started calling my DH Mickey Mouse and I am Mrs. Mickey or Minnie Mouse, so those are kind of like our nicknames at work. I thought that would be a cool DIS name.

SD = San Diego (a familiar place, home, where I was born)
33 = Club 33 (a place shrouded in mystery to me, that I will most likely never see in person, but hope that I someday do)

I have always been a die hard DL fan. When I married for a second time I decided it was my duty to indoctrinate my dh to the likes of DL. Well dh is a engineer and well engineers are you know are practical, methodical people who really don't think of frivolous flowery (his words not mine lol) things like DL. Well I finally convinced him to go and well I literally had to drag him to the airport to fly to DL. Hence my username drag n' fly lol.:lmao:

my favorite story so far!! i love it! i, too, thought you must love dragon flies! :confused3

mine is boring....my name is shelly, and i love the mouse!! but i wish i would have taken more time to be creative with it.... oh well

I had a softball coach who started to call me Goldie in the 7th grade. It stuck, because I don't think anyone on my HS, college or women's travelling team ever even new my real name. So I put that and my DH and my 5 kids together. Man I feel exposed here, my name is Kim

OK, while I totally find the humor in that, as an engineer myself, I'm slightly offended (;)not really). But that does give me a nice segue.

In my family, I'm the DL nut. Most of the time I live up to the engineer reputation; but on the inside I'm still a kid who refuses to grow up. Hook is one of my all time favorite movies and every time I watch it I say "that's me, I'm Peter Banning". The rest, as they say, is history.

Well when I joined the Dis I joined with the intention to just ask some questions about my upcoming Disney World wedding. Hence the "Bride". And I loved Tinkerbell before she was all popular and everywhere. So Tink.

Now almost 5 years later - I am no longer a Bride and I have moved on from my love for Tinkerbell. Now I am back to my roots, my original faves, and classic Disney duo.......Chip and Dale. I prefer Chip (dont tell Dale!).

But since my original plan was to get some questions answered and not stick around I never thought about the longevity of my name.......but what can I say - the Dis hooked me.

Ok I'll chime in as I have been a long time lurker and have thoroughly enjoyed reading about your names. (dangermouse I thought was a guy...funball love your posts, black jack delta so much info, sherrie like a friend I grew up with...) I had originally posted about 4 years ago with some questions about an upcoming trip. However I could not remember my cute and clever name again after a few years. So I made up a new one Ordisneyfans kind of boring but easy to remember... We are from Oregon and have become disney fanatics! Since convincing DH that the AP was such a great bargain we have been 2x and planning a third visit in one year! (hubby hates lines, crowds, heat etc... you get the picture:scared1:) This time onsite DLH first two nights and then PPH concierge for five nights! Leaving in one week! I have been kinda of a dis board fanatic since planning this trip! :cool1:

JoShan1719
Josh (my husband's name)
Shannon (my name)
17 (my age when we started dating)
19 (his age when we started dating)

It's not super fancy, but I like it :)

The first movie I ever saw at a theater was "The Aristocats" around 1970 when I was 5. I loved the movie and it was really special for me because one of the main characters shared my name:cloud9: :cloud9: (and it wasn't Thomas O'Malley;))

Great thread Hydroguy!

I am a huge fan of the TV show Lost. The Orchid is the DHARMA station that is involved in time travel research. Well, around the time The Orchid was introduced in the show, I found my first love on MySpace. We dated when she was stationed in my state while in the Navy...then she had to go home. We lost touch for 12 years and when we met again, we fell in love and continued where we left off. It felt like I had gone back in time...so I chose The Orchid for that reason. :lovestruc

Honey, I had no idea that is why you decided on your screen name. I wish I would have only been so thoughtful. I love you with all my heart.

Funny, how true it is that we picked up right where we left off. It was like time stood still all those years. Love you!
