I read that gas prices should start coming down. We budgeted for gas to be $4.50 per gallon back when it was climbing each day. I am hoping for $3.50 by then, heck, I would love $3.00 but that's wishful thinking.[/QUOTE]
We are driving too. It's about a 6 to 6 1/2 hours for us.
Heard on news today that gas should slowly start coming down over next few weeks but will be a slow drop. Never goes down as quickly as the price goes up!

June 24th-July 9th (squeeeee!)
June 24th: Arrive at MCO around noon (me, DH won't arrive until about 10:30 PM); go to POR for the weekend. I don't know where I'll spend this day.
June 25th: Cape May (B); Coral Reef (L); Whispering Canyon (D); we'll be spending to day at Epcot.
Julne 26th: 1900 Park Fare (B); Tony's Town Square (L); California Grill (D); we'll spending today at the Magic Kingdom. We'll also have to move over to the Hilton in DTD.
June 27th: 'Ohana (D); I don't know where I'm spending today.
June 28th: Whispering Canyon Cafe (L); DTD with DH during the evening after his conference is over that day.
June 29th: DH is going home. I just found this out the other day and we haven't changed my reservation yet so that I have a place to stay. I also don't know what I'm doing yet today.
June 30th: Yak and Yeti (D); I think I may be spending today at Epcot; I'll be spending tonight and the next night at the Beach Club. I'll probably end up there for the 29th too.
July 1st: Captain's Grill (D); spending today at DHS. There's no Fantasmic! so I'll be going to Characterpalooza.
July 2nd: Cape May (B); Via Napoli (L); Le Cellier (D); I'll be moving back to POR and DH will be coming back in time for lunch. We'll spend today at Epcot.
July 3rd: Ankershus (B); Le Cellier (L); CRT (D); at Epcot for most of the day but back to MK for the evening to see their July 4th Wishes.
July 4th: Crystal Palace (B); Liberty Tree Tavern (L); Garden Grill (D); we're doing MK during the day and back to Epcot at night so that we can see the July 4th Illuminations.
July 5th: Hollywood and Vine (B); Mama Melrose's (F! Dining Package); we'll be at DHS riding Star Tours and Toy Story Mania as many times as possible.
July 6th: Tusker House (B); Tusker House (Nemo Dining Package); Tony's Town Square (D); Wishes Dessert Party; we'll be at AK today. DH has never been and I'm excited for us to be here together. EMH in the morning today and our breakfast is after the park opens to everyone else.

Oh yeah I hope you are able to avoid the slow poke trucks!! We will be going down through Montgomery and into GA, also going through Lake City, FL. Hopefully with very few stops. We live in north/central AL so we can hit 65 easily and go straight down.
We are from Alabama also. We live about 45 minutes from I-10. But we live in the southeast corner of the state. Only a 6 1/2 hour drive for us. Drive safely and have fun, IT"S ALMOST HERE!!

1) If you only had one day, would you rather MK or Epcot?

2) If you wanted to see most of the main characters at a character meal would you rather Chef Mickey or Tusker House?

Hmmm, I like the theme of WL better, but the location of GF would be awesome... I think I'd try GF
4) If you could only stay at one of these hotels would you rather Carribbean Beach Resort or POP?

5) Mickey Ice Cream Bar or Mickey Shaped Rice Krispie Treat?

fly - we live too far away for driving!

Wilderness Lodge - Really want to try onsite on our next trip and this is the one that holds the most immediate appeal. Kind of crazy, since I live in the woods, but there you have it.
4) If you could only stay at one of these hotels would you rather Carribbean Beach Resort or POP?
Caribbean Beach - But I might be heavily influenced by the Caribbean thing since we've been watching the Pirates movies
5) Mickey Ice Cream Bar or Mickey Shaped Rice Krispie Treat?
Mickey Ice Cream Bar - Do the Rice Krispie Treats taste like homemade? I hate the store bought ones.
6) If money was not an issue, would you rather fly or drive?
Fly - I've driven that many miles and more with my kids on our Rt. 66 trip, and even though that was fun, I can't imagine that as the start and finish of our vacation.

MNSSHP - I love dressing up. We're doing the Pirate's league for sure. I think we might do face painting, and I'm even considering putting hairwraps in for myself and my little cousin since I know how to do them from my summer camp counselor days.
