September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

ShhhQ: Once again, great job! (Even if it isn't Disney!;))

For all of those contemplating post Disney babies, good luck to you! :goodvibes

My daughter is expecting another girl Sept 7th and her 4 year old wants them to name her Bullseye!:rotfl: They have been referring to her as Bullseye for so long, I hope they can remember to call her by name!:rolleyes1

Just informed my daughter's school of her missing a week of school, waiting on a reply  - really hope they don't go negative on me - I know it won't hurt her - she's a smart kid - and its only in the first few weeks (when they do a lot of review)... I also asked for the work for that week to do with her... fingers crossed... keep your fingers crossed for me :wizard:

Thought I'd check in from the craziness really quick, and I am caught up on the last two pages. :thumbsup2 Looks like lots of post-Disney babies on the horizon!:cloud9: I was bedridden with placenta previa with my first DD, and placenta abruptia with the second, so my dreams of four went out the window. I had a hysterectomy about six years ago (right after my 27th birthday), so the baby factory is officially kaput. Now I just love everyone else's babies.:grouphug:I'm so excited for those of you in the single digits; I can't wait until it's me! Back to the no power and downed trees, ugh!

So... I'm going to have to start another thread soon!!! :dance3: Once we got on 246 pages then I will make a new one. I think the limit is 250?! I will link it here and on the first post once I do.

So, I just ordered myself the Purple(my fav color) Disney Sketch crossbody bag from Disneyshopping :cool1:...It was already marked down and with the 25% off theme park merchandise and free shipping I just couldn't pass it up, LOL

I'm excited! I have a medium Disney sketch bag and I have always wanted a crossbody bag....think it will make a terrific park bag! I don't like to bring too much in my purse and DH will have a backpack for all the other stuff we need. So just keeping my fingers crossed that the placement isn't horrible :wizard: but I'll probably keep it either way.

Also, just a heads up-Walgreens is starting to get some of their Halloween merchandise in and yesterday I picked up some Disney Halloween window clings for our room at Pop, small disney light up toys, and some halloween mickey/minnie lawn signs :yay: They also had (which I did not purchase):Mickey/Minnie scarecrows, Disney porch greeters, singing Mickey plush, Mickey halloween bowl, Mickey yard blow-up. Sorry...no pics. I'm not really tech savvy and I have to get DH to download the pics to the computer and he'll get to it eventually I'm sure :) I'm going to check back again in a few days to see if Walgreens gets anything else in that I might be interested in!

Yeah for a new Dooney!!!! I am going to get a 40th while we are there...but I am also eyeing the balloon print ones! They only have black, and I feel like I'd like the white better. But 25% off is such a good deal....decisions...decisions!!!!

I am tempted to run over to Walgreens right now too! Ha!

Us too! My girls are almost exactly 3 years apart and for us it has been the perfect age difference between kids! I needed a little time between kids because I don't think I could have handled two toddlers at once :upsidedow

Sometimes I think about having a third child but I get severe hyperemesis with my pregnancies :sad1: and last time I needed a PICC line that stayed in my arm for 6 months with home health nursing care, a Zofran pump, DH changing my IV bags, and I did not eat or drink for 6 months because the vomiting did not stop/it was 24 hours a day. I lost a lot of weight, was pretty much bed bound, it was a looong 9 months. If it wasn't for me being close to death just to bring a child into this world I would love to have another one :sad2: But I am so blessed to have my two girls

Good luck to those of you getting ready to try for another, or your first! :goodvibes

Oh man your hyperemesis story is identical to mine!!! The thought of having to go through that again scares me to death. My husband was always the one who would change my IV bags, and one day it ran out while he was at work. I wasn't too sure what I was doing....and I got a bubble in my line. Long story short when I restarted I send that bubble through the line into my heart! Thank God I was on the phone with a friend at the time because had she not called 911 I would have died. I was so sick when the nurse would come I barely paid attention to the instructions because my husband took care of it. So scary!

I would love to have a boy, and I know my husband would too....but it is just way too scary for me.

Is this possible and/or a good idea? I was planning on having water delivered to us from Garden Grocer, but after looking it up... holy $$$$, batman! Their water is insanely priced, PLUS the delivery fee is nuts. We won't have a car in WDW either. So, I was thinking of taking a few reusable water bottles and filling them up in the food court in the mornings before we go, when we come back for our nap in the afternoons, and at night when we come back. Is this a reasonable idea or should I just fork out the cash for Garden Grocer?

FYI - Disney store has 25% off all Disney Park merchandise including Mickey Ears... think we are gonna order them ahead of time & have delivered to resort...

Ooooooh!!!! This is a fantastic idea!!! Will they hold it until we arrive? How does this work? Also, what address do you use? Can you give me details? :rotfl: Thank you!!!

We are ordering through wegoshop.com... they shop where you tell them to (Walmart/Grocery store) and deliver it for a fee... we are getting cereal, snacks & milk - stuff like that - if its just water you are getting though may not be best option - heard of others ordering through sams club or costco for delivery to resort - not sure on fee there... We looked at Garden Grocer too at first and we appalled at the prices of their items... some were almost double the price anywhere else...

Bring your water containers from home or buy a couple of bottles of water initially. Then you can fill your water containers with ice at your resort and be ready for the day. Also, you can get free ice water at most of the cs places as well as some of the vendors. As many times as you need. Hope this helps.:good vibes

ETA: Thanks for keeping up with the thread and the need to start another one!:lovestruc

yeh - they will hold if if you ship it like 2 weeks before you trip... you have it shipped to your resort hotel's address - which one are you staying at? I think it was Pop right but not 100%? As far as I understand you put your name, arrival date & possibly your res # as part of your shipping info... then you pick it up when you check in...

No problem - the autograph books will also be 25% off - we love those for the kids - just pick up a thicker pen for the characters to sign with... easier for them to hold... there is a nice 40th anniversary one out or just the standard one - good for multiple future trips... you guys are gonna have such a blast - can't wait to hear all about it...

I went to Walgreens, and I got two sets of Mickey window clings! I had to search forever because the stuff was out, but it was on top of the shelves....ALL over the store! :rotfl: But I searched and found them! Thanks for the heads up!!!! :thumbsup2

You all amaze me, seriously! Now I will be heading to Walgreens either tonight or tomorrow. :yay:

I am a big water drinker, and I have handled this a couple of different ways...both worked fine. One time, I ordered a case of water from Costco (I did not have a membership, was able to do it without a membership) and had it delivered to Pop Century a few days before we checked in there. That was several years ago, so not sure if Costco still does this, but it worked great for me. Since then, I have always brought reusable water bottles and filled them with water from the counter service locations. That worked great as well! DD does not like plain water, so I brought along those little mix in packets of Propel and Crystal Light for her water bottle. This trip we will have a rental car, so will likely get water at a store before check in.

HTH!

I had very similar experiences with my pregancies (and had several miscarriages). It was devastating. And partly why we have one biological child and two adopted children (wouldn't trade what we have though :goodvibes). I feel for you.

I couldn't even imagine! It's amazing how some people have easy-breezy pregnancies and others--uh, not so much! Especially in situations like those, it really makes you appreciate what a blessing it is to be able to bring a child into the world!

I have mixed feelings about having more children. If we had unlimited funds, I would have more. But, with twins on both sides of the family, we could try for one more and end up with multiples!, or you never know what medical interventions may be necessary during the pregnancy or after. We're just so happy and content with 2, and we love being able to do so many things as a family of 4 (it's weird how restaurant booths, amusement rides, hotel rooms, everything is made for a family of 4. Once you hit 5, things get tricky!) :rotfl:

Sometimes I feel it would be nice to be pregnant just "one more time." But then I remember my other 2 pregnancies and deliveries, and change my mind! Even so, I feel that if we ever really wanted another and it was too late to have our own, there are so many amazing kids in foster care or ready for adoption that need a good home. So I just live in the moment and enjoy every single wingle minute with the family I have now!

Sorry for going off the topic of Disney....I'll get us back on.....we leave in TWO days!!

I think it's so interesting too how some people can go for a couple of months without even knowing they're pregnant and then others of us start throwing up at conception, lol Crazy! I definitely do enjoy having the 'average' family of 4, and I can see how things would get a little hairy if you have 5 or more. Even though I probably won't have anymore of my own I do love playing with my little neices so that helps! :)

That is just awful. I wasn't that sick, but was on Zofran for the entire time and pretty much laid on the couch. At least I was able to eat some. I can understand you being worried about being that sick again.

I feel for you! Being sick like that no matter how severe really can take its toll anyone. Maybe you won't be as sick the next go around and get a baby girl too :wizard:

Ohh, I've been eyeing those 40th bags too! I need to stay away from the Disney Dooney's when we go on our trip ;)

Wow Basketkat, I'm so surprised that your story is so similar to mine! When I was going through it I felt so alone, like nobody else could understand. That is so scary about the bubble in the line :scared1: I am so glad that you were ok! I can definitely understand your fears, not to mention the chance of infection/sepsis from the Picc line!

I went to Walgreens, and I got two sets of Mickey window clings! I had to search forever because the stuff was out, but it was on top of the shelves....ALL over the store! :rotfl: But I searched and found them! Thanks for the heads up!!!! :thumbsup2

Glad you found them! I had to do the same thing and look up high on shelves for the Halloween stuff :rotfl:

 So many of us have shared experiences but we can all count our blessings with the families we do have :goodvibes
