Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

So, our typical life update first: Grammy is doing so much better!!! She is awake, and they have finally taken the breathing tube out of her so she can talk again! She is already whining that she has been in the hospital for far too long. She's not out of the woods yet, and she'll still be in critical care for a few days, but she is doing much, much better. Unfortunately, she is going to have to make some life changes (she now needs to wear a mask for oxygen sometimes and they have to install one of those power chairs to get her up the stairs), but that's fine as long as it keeps her healthy. I'm really hoping I can go home in early June to see them. Being away from everyone has been pretty difficult for me.

Also, it's the end of the semester and it's kicking my butt. I can't believe I am almost done with my graduate coursework!

Honeymoon Day 7, Part 3

We woke up and changed for dinner, and I realized it was time to throw out the bouquet. She was dying, and had been for a few days, but it was pretty bad.

DSCN0546.jpg

I ended up unceremoniously throwing her away on the crosswalk between BLT and the CR. I was sad, but she had a good run!

We took the monorail over to Citrico's, and I had the darndest time remembering what last name the reservation was made under. We had booked this one at the front desk, and finally realized that it was under "White Dunn," which has never been my last name. This whole name-changing stuff is a PIA!

It appears as though I didn't take any pictures of the restaurant. Have you noticed that, as time goes on, you take fewer pictures? I have to remember not to do that anymore.

We were seated fairly quickly, and our hostess asked us if we were married at Disney. We replied yes, and she asked where--- and I thanked her for not asking us "Were you married at the wedding pavilion?" This was probably my least favorite question to be asked on our honeymoon! I think it's because my grammy kept telling people it wasn't a real disney wedding because it wasn't at the pavilion (and she was convinced the only reason it wasn't at the WP was for budgetary reasons. Um, I paid $700 to play a joke on our wedding guests; I could have sprung for the WP), but I was so irritated by this question. She laughed, and she knew where SBP was! She was basically my new favorite person ever.

Our server came over right away with free champagne because we were on our honeymoon! This was shaping up to be a great night! We sipped our champagne, and we waited for our server to return.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

After forty minutes, another server came by and noticed our pins, and congratulated us. He asked us how we were doing, and we told him not so well: our server had been ignoring us for almost an hour. We hadn't even placed our drink orders yet! He seemed surprised (we had seen our server going to other tables, but not coming near ours), and went over to get him. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We were hungry, and annoyed.

Thankfully, the service did get better, but it was just awkward after that. Our server's name was Lonzy by the way, and we kept saying "Oh Lonzy" the whole time and just giggling. We talked about how Two Drink Tony never would have let us gone thirsty.

The redeeming quality about Citrico's was the food. Chris had the filet with mashed potatoes, and he said it was the second best steak he had on the trip. I tried a bite and I could even appreciate it, even though I don't really like beef.

DSCN0551.jpg

I had the pork two ways (with what looks like root veggies?), and had my first introduction to pork belly.

DSCN0552.jpg

It was love at first bite. It's like bacon, only tastier and fancier. I was a bad wife and didn't even let Chris have a bite--- I was being selfish.

According to my notes, I ended the meal with a piece of cake, but all it says in regards to the cake is "not good." I don't know what this cake was, but apparently I didn't like it. Darn me and my laziness about pictures.

Even though the food was good, we were happy to be done with dinner. I'm not really sure if we'll go back to Citrico's anytime soon. I'd like to think the service was a fluke, but you never know. Our meal was around $100, but we experienced much better service at places where our bill was half of that.

I have, however, been spoiled to death by signatures. Citrico's, again, had very few screaming children and had a more upscale feel. Chris and I don't go out to eat a lot at home (maybe once a week, sometimes less), and when I am on vacation I like to spoil myself with good food and good shopping. My favorite thing about Disney is that my Disney experience can grow as I grow up.

Anyway, after dinner, we stopped at Outer Rim for some drinks. We had talked about going to Epcot for some Night Time World Showcase silliness, but we decided to save it for tomorrow instead. Tomorrow, after all, was our last full day. :(

Jackie,

I haven't really posted on your PJ/Tr but have been following along. I must say, I thoroughly enjoy your writing style. You make me laugh so much!!! :goodvibes I love all the details!

Glad your grandmother is doing better.

Glad to read your Grammy is feeling better.

Looking forward to seeing what silliness you got up to at Epcot.

so glad your grandma is feeling better and I am so glad that you are doing this TR you are giving me some good tips to remember.

1. Have a little journal to take notes
2. take pictures the whole trip
3. Make sure to take pictures in your outfits that always seems to help keep track

That really stinks about the citrico's service I have never been there but it does not seem like a place I would like so I have not made plans to go there.

Can't wait to read about your last days

Teresa

I am SO happy to hear that your Grandmother is doing well. I hope the transition back home is an easy one!

Hahahaha "Oh, Lonzy." You guys are too funny!

"My favorite thing about Disney is that my Disney experience can grow as I grow up."

I could not have put this better myself. While a lot of going to Disney for me is getting to feel like a kid again, I don't think many people realize that the experiences you have there CAN grow with you. Honestly, I often feel like I can appreciate Disney so much more as an adult. I get to act like a kid again if I want but then I can go do fancy (or not so fancy!) adult things that kids usually just can't appreciate. Very well said!

SO happy that your grammy's doing better! :thumbsup2

Holy moly, 40 minutes without service? Did you write to Disney and complain? While Citrico's so far hasn't intrigued me, menu-wise, you do have me really interested in doing a signature dining at some point. (Granted we are doing Le Cellier at dinner time after the wedding, but I'd like to do one with just Doug and I.)

Noooo! It can't be nearly at the end already!

I'm all caught up! I keep forgetting to come over here and check for updates!

I love the interactions between you and Chris...it reminds me of me and Ben! I literally laughed out loud all by myself when he had a few too many drinks!

You guys ate at some great places....the food at Citricos looks awesome! We will definitely be going to California Grill...and I was trying to decide between Narcoosee's and Citricos and you've made my decision even harder!!!!

Honeymoon Update...we will definitely be there the week of July 23!! Possibly staying as long as August 1 or 2....3 or 4th if I can push it LOL! We are thinking of staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a Royal Room for most of the trip and then moving to AKL for two or three nights! We've always had free dining though, and the summer room discounts are not saving me nearly as much $$$ as I'm used to!

Ahh, so the DIS wouldn't let me log on for a few days so I wasn't able to comment! But now I'm on :)
* Aww, poor bouquet. But at least it brightened up your room for most of the week!
* 40 minutes is ridiculous to wait without even ordering drinks! I don't know if I would have been that patient.
* The food at Citricos looks pretty good. Nothing on their menu really strikes me though, so it's not one I plan to check out soon.
* Aw, can't wait to hear about your last full day! I'm sad the TR is ending though. Hurry up and get back to Disney so you can write another one! ;)

And, I have... sort of had Pepe's pizza. Where in CT are you going? I've been to the one at Mohegan Sun, but never the original one in New Haven. I think it's okayyyy. I like NY style pizza better.

We'll be around New Haven (I'm from Trumbull, but none of my family lives there anymore). I've been to the original in New Haven and the one in Fairfield. I've heard about the original being the best because of the age of ovens or something, but I haven't noticed. I prefer NY style as well, but Rob is crazy about Pepe's. His Dad is coming with us and Rob really wants him to experience Pepe's (they are from VA).

I'm so glad your Grammy is doing better. I'll still be thinking of her as she recovers! Throwing out your bouquet is so sad. At least you had one last walk with her to that trash can - I left mine in the trash can in our room on our last day. :( Sorry about the crummy services at Citrico's. I've never been, but your food looks yummy!

Hello lovey!!! I'm trying to stay caught up, so here we go!!

-I'm debating on the APs. I really am!! Charley is supposed to be playing at WWS in a softball tournament at the end of Sept, if all goes well. If I don't have an AP, I'll have to buy tickets for the 4 days we would be there. So that means I'll get to go down for 4 days less than 2 wks after our anniversary trip!! WooHoo!! I hope they get to go!!! BUT, it will be my 1st time going to the parks by myself. I'm kind of scared but VERY excited at the same time.
-It's like 34 days now.. in case you were wondering!!
-I would just die if I saw a gator out there. I feel like I would try to be all Crocodile Hunter!
-We do not have basements in Georgia.

-I'm glad to hear your Grammy is doing better!! DISbride pixie dust works wonders!!!

HM 7:3
-Don't look so sad about your bouquet. You should've jacked a vase from The Attic! I'm telling you. My flowers lived the entire stay, plus about a week at home. And yes, we changed resorts and everything with me carrying around that damn vase of flowers.
-On top of all the names you're already called.. you give yourself "White Dunn". Good going!
-I'm tired of your no pic taking self! You better do better on the next trip. We will be comparing TR!
-I'm so glad that the hostess knew about our wedding venue! That makes me so proud of her. It seemed to me if you didn't say the WP, they were like "Nope, that's not it!" I don't think so buddy. I'm like you.. we could've gotten married there. We chose SBP, because we loved it!!!
-Yay for free stuff! We never got free alcohol. Maybe because most of our meals were character dining?!
-I'm so mad you had to wait! I would've punched them for you!
-That food looks yummy to me.. but I'm a little iffy about eating anything that has the word "belly" in it!
-BUT I do LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE bacon!!!!
-I'm going to drink an alcoholic drink for my bday. I'm going to do it!!
-I'm so sad it's almost over. :(

I CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR TRIP!!!! I can't wait to meet you ladies!! It's going to be sooooo weird.. but in a good way!! ;)

I love looking at all of your pictures! :goodvibes I didn't know that you had seen a wedding at Shipwreck Beach before--that's awesome! We've never seen a wedding there before, but we picked it because it's one of our favorite spots in WDW. I'm surprised there aren't more weddings there.

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour sounds so neat! We will have to do it sometime! I've never been able to find the Mickey pretzel cart, but I'm determined to next month. :)

I'm so glad your grandma is doing a lot better!

Thank you so much for popping in! I'm glad you've been reading along, and I am glad I can make you laugh! Sometimes, I feel like I'm just laughing at myself. :lmao:

Glad to read your Grammy is feeling better.

Looking forward to seeing what silliness you got up to at Epcot.

Thank you!!! :D

Yes, a journal is CRUCIAL--- especially because you'll be there for so long. It's now my goal to try every Signature Restaurant--- on the whole, I like them so much better than the non.

I am SO happy to hear that your Grandmother is doing well. I hope the transition back home is an easy one!

I COMPLETELY agree with you! I appreciate Disney so much more as an adult than I did as a child. I loved it as a child, but it's kinda-sorta my whole world now. I love feeling like a little girl, but I also loving dressing up and feeling like an adult too!

SO happy that your grammy's doing better! :thumbsup2

Holy moly, 40 minutes without service? Did you write to Disney and complain? Noooo! It can't be nearly at the end already!

I actually didn't write to Disney and complain! Lonzy did get better, so we didn't want to press the issue. We're really easy going too--- but now we're just a little bitter. And YES! Do some Siggies. :D

I'm all caught up! I keep forgetting to come over here and check for updates!

I love the interactions between you and Chris...it reminds me of me and Ben! I literally laughed out loud all by myself when he had a few too many drinks!

Oh, Drunk Chris. He is SO charming. I debated between Narcoosee's and Citrico's for awhile too! We don't like seafood though, so Citrico's had more options for us. And WOW that's a long honeymoon: go you! We're going to stay in a Royal Room in December. :D And I firmly believe that the room discounts are better than free dining. I hate the dining plan. Go get yourself an AP and buy the Tables in Wonderland card--- it's a much better deal.

Ahh, so the DIS wouldn't let me log on for a few days so I wasn't able to comment! But now I'm on :)

The DIS was being awful! I'm glad it seems to have been fixed (for the most part...) And don't worry, I'll be back to Disney in 33 days. (33 days!!!)

We'll be around New Haven (I'm from Trumbull, but none of my family lives there anymore). I've been to the original in New Haven and the one in Fairfield. Ohhh I'm sure the ovens make all the difference. Mmmm. You're making me hungry! (I should go start dinner soon.) And it was very sad to get rid of the bouquet, wasn't it?! My grammy preserved hers and still has it--- they've been married for 51 years!

Hello lovey!!! I'm trying to stay caught up, so here we go!!

-33 days now!
-And sweetie, I love you, but your cute little butt would get eaten by a gator.
-Jennifer, we didn't have vases!!! We had different centerpieces, remember?!?!
-Ohhh a TR competition. Are you doing a PTR?
-I was SO proud of the hostess. I <3ed her. I wish she had been our waitress!
-I was scared of pork belly too, but Richelle told me it was amazing. It's REALLY good. If you love bacon, you would love this even MORE.
-Where are you going for your bday? I can probably suggest a drink that isn't too strong!
-I'm so sad it's almost over too. :(

I am too! Shipwreck Beach is such a pretty spot. Maybe people don't because they're worried about the elements? I know I definitely wouldn't have a 2:30 reception there! It might have been something I would have considered had our wedding not been in the winter! And YES! MICKEY PRETZELS NEXT MONTH OR BUSTTTTT

Glad to hear your grandmother is feeling better. Here's more pixie dust for her pixiedust:

Loved your update as usual. Can't wait to hear more.

Honeymoon, Day 8 Part 1: Last day!!! :(

I started the last day of our honeymoon by calling Disney Reservations to make a hotel ressie for May! Chris and I had talked about it, and we had decided we could swing a Memorial Day trip. I talked to a lovely woman named Serenity, who was just oh-so-excited to hear I had gotten married in WDW. She told me I had made her day! We booked a pirate room at CBR, and then Serenity and I started saying "ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!" As this was going on, Chris was singing "Imaginationnnnnn" at the top of his lungs. It was crazy, but the fun kind.

Of course, these plans have all changed. My grandparents are graciously putting me up in a Savannah view studio at AKL-Kidani, but I do hope to stay in a pirate room some day!

After our silly morning, Chris and I headed over to DHS. We had wanted to make it there in time for rope drop, but it just didn't happen. It wasn't really a big deal--- we just didn't get to do TSMM again. We grabbed fastpasses for Rock'n Rollercoaster (the line was only 25 minutes, but it was outside and it was COLD!!!), and headed over to TOT.

We had time to kill after TOT, so we took some pics.

31856900259.jpg

31856900263.jpg

and did some shopping.

Chris bought this amazing t-shirt.

I went over and stared at the Dooneys for awhile and fell in love with the red comic satchel. Chris bullied me into buying it!

397088_834780820623_24206629_39326827_580441721_n.jpg

(Taken later in the day at Epcot, but whatever. I was just so happy to have a husband who enables my designer purse obsession!)

Chris, the Dooney, and I then headed over to RnR. Nothing terribly exciting to report about that! From there, we went back to Star Tours--- we had the JarJar sequence again. I always get the same ones!

We were done with DHS at that point, but we decided to walk out slowly so we could say goodbye. I always get sad when I'm leaving a Disney Park for awhile. Well, except for AK. (Sorry Jenny Boo Boo)

DSCN0553.jpg

Farewell, Ugly Stage in Front of the Hat!

We had a reservation at Via Napoli for lunch, so we took the boat over to Epcot.

DSCN0554.jpg

I was SO excited to see Sea Breeze Point again. I still really couldn't believe I had gotten married there a mere 8 days ago!!

DSCN0557.jpg

And, of course, we had to point out The Attic's patio too.

DSCN0558.jpg

The boat ride from DHS to Epcot is pretty, but that thing takes FOREVER!!! When we arrived in Epcot, we had to hustle it to our reservation. And, let me tell you, it was our twelfth day in Disney. Our legs were not in a position to hustle ANYWHERE.

Somehow, we survived our walk from the boat to Italy and, thankfully, we were quickly seated. We were hungry and wanted some pizza, gosh darnit!

Chris, exciting as usual, ordered a plain ol' cheese.

DSCN0560.jpg

I ordered the Italian ham this time.

DSCN0559.jpg

Just looking at them is making me salivate!

This is the first time I have visited the same restaurant twice in one trip--- and, I can assure you, it won't be the last. We got this reservation at the last minute: I had been browsing lunch ressies on the 13th just for fun, and it popped up. Chris yelled "BOOK IT!!!!" when he saw it. This is some of the best pizza I have had, ever. Period. Finito.

The service was good, we both ordered some drinks, and then it was time to get silly again in World Showcase--- just like it's time for me to go watch Once Upon a Time now!

Ahhh see, now this is where I screwed up! We went in January and I fully intended to upgrade to APs to be ready for our honeymoon. BUT, then I was changing jobs and was unsure about whether we would even be able to go on a honeymoon right after our wedding. So, I decided not to chance wasting the money and didn't upgrade. Now, of course, we ARE planning to go and it is too late for the APs. I just can't justify getting them now because I fully intend not to go again until 2014 at the earliest (easier said than done, but that is what my rational side is planning...I'm sure my irrational side will have something else to say about that!).

So, there lies my problem. Oh well, once we pay it off, I won't think about it again and will just proceed to have an amazing time!! We DO like the dining plan, simply for the fact that we never have to think about how much we are spending on food while we are actually there!

Now, on to your update! Very cute Dooney! Gotta love a man who appreciates a good purse! :thumbsup2

Ugh, that stage in front of the hat is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!

Have you ever been to Jelly Rolls? I think we will check it out in July....

That pizza looks amazing! I have been trying to figure out how to fit Via Napoli into our plans! I think we are going to do Teppan Edo and Le Cellier though. There are so many choices in EPCOT!

I LOVE Once Upon a Time...I always watch the next day though so I can watch Amazing Race at 8 on Sundays!

* Haha I can just imagine you on the phone with someone making pirate noises and Chris singing Imagination... sounds hilarious!
* Love the Dooney! So glad Chris bullied you into buying it ;)
* Mmm, Via Napoli. That pizza looks SO amazing! I think that one is a definite must for our next trip. I was planning on it anyway, but your photos have convinced me!
* I recently found out that Jason's great aunt has DVC. She hasn't offered it to us but she has been having some health issues recently so it is probably the last thing on her mind. We are thinking about asking her about it though, because I know she personally doesn't go anymore... I'm guessing her children go but I didn't get the idea that they were super big Disney fans so we are going to at least ask her about it at some point. I don't think they go that often and I hope the points aren't going to waste! Even if she just sells us the points at a decent rate that would be awesome. Fingers crossed that means Disney will be something we can do more often in the future!
* adfalkjdf;alkjf Once Upon a Time! Haha I am obsessed! I'm always so excited and surprised by everything even though I know pretty much all of the theories of what can happen. And I'm excited by the preview for next week's episode too!

Ah!!! Another Dooney! You're a girl after my own heart.

I will definitely need to try Via Napoli asap. Especially if you think it's worthy of 2 visits!

Fun post as always!

Hi there gal pal! I'm trying to be a good girl and keep up with this!

-If the finances allow it, we'll def be getting the APs. I just don't know yet.
-I think I could outrun a gator!!!
-I know you didn't have vases!! That's not the ones I was talking about. (Even though that would've made more sense) He gave us a vase out of 1 of the little nook and cranny shelves by the door!! Like right here in this pic..
Untitled.jpg

-I don't know if I'll do a PTR. You know how bad I am at updating. Plus you'll probably win the competition anyway. I only had like 5 ppl reading my PJ and TR!! LOL
-Girl, we're eating at Crystal Palace for my bday!! I looovvveee Pooh and Eeyore! After that we're going to Epcot though for EMH. I'll probably get the Grand Marnier Orange Slush. You made it sound sooo yummy! What would you recommend though?
-I'M SO FREAKIN READY FOR OUR TRIP!!!

HM 8:1
-BOO for the last day!
-Yay for making new ressies, even though they changed.
-The pirate thing makes me laugh.
-Woohoo!!! Best rides at HS!!
-CUUUUUTTTEEE pics!!!
-I LOVE the Duck Tales shirt! That was 1 of my fav shows!!
-I'm so jealous of your Dooneys. I'm not even going to lie!! I think I might get a wristlet while we're there for my bday. I want something small for the parks. Charley tells me to get 1 every time we go, but I always walk away.
-I'm so glad the Dooney was able to ride RnR. What a wonderful way to start your life with your new owner!!
-I HATE leaving Disney. This is the reason we must move down there together. But I must say.. How DARE you lady?! HOW DARE you?! AK isn't the most wonderful place on Earth.. and it doesn't have that pretty castle, or those fancy princesses.. but did you see the baby gorilla's face?! I DID!!! AND it was sooooo beautiful! I just wanted to hug him and squeeze him and love him for his life!! Just sayin... Sorry.. Sometimes I think I have issues.
-Why didn't you take a pic when you were leaving that makes it look like Chris is wearing that giant *** hat??
-That freakin boat is just ridiculous! We sat in that back seat, and I swear I got burnt it took so long!!!!
-SBP is sooooo beautiful. I would really like to take anniversary pics there, but I don't want to use that as a location. lol I think we might go there after we leave Regina... maybe we can find someone to take a few pics for us!! Or maybe I could ask her to swing in really fast to snap a few?!? LOL
-Is it crazy that I want to cry looking at that pic? I am seriously, SERIOUSLY having wedding withdrawals. I kid you not!! I keep thinking it's getting better, but it's not.
-I love the Attic too!!! It's like I want to use those same places for our VR, but I want somewhere different too! Like the MK!!!!! I'm so pitiful.. Help me little baby Jesus!
-Can I tell you something?! Well I'm going to anyway! I made us reservations for the Memorial weekend for lunch at Via Napoli. You've raved about it so much and posted those yummy pics.. I just had to try it!! If it's not good, I blame you. I hope you know that!

YAY for Once Upon A Time!!! It was good this week. What pissed me off though?! There wasn't a new episode of HIMYM! This makes me so angry.

I heart you lady and can't wait until the end of May... actually the time can fly by AFTER my bday trip. Sorry. I just don't want that to go fast!!!
