Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

Aww, Jackie! I don't want it to be over. :worried:

Everything was so beautiful. I'm really going to miss your updates.

But, as I said before, at least I can FaceBook-stalk you. :rotfl2:

Hello, hello! Do you want to know a secret?! IT'S MAY NOW!!!!!

-Yes, those vases!!! Like I said though, a vase from one of the tables would've been more logical.
-I'm still debating about what I want to buy. I'm not really sold on the wristlet now. Plus I just spent $200 on a new lens for the camera! AND I'm pretty sure Charley bought me something else.. even though he said the camera was my gift, along with the Disney trip!
-You really should've went to see the baby gorilla. I shall pull at your heart strings with a pic of my own.

I'm pretty sure I love him, and he's mine.
-Yes, your VR ideas sound perfect. The more I think about it though.. I'm leaning more towards a different venue. Maybe in Epcot. Who knows?! I still have a few yrs to work that out! lol Charley did ask a buddy of ours if him and his wife were going to make it to our 5 or 10 yr VR. So.. here's hoping it's 5!!! That would be a whole bunch of OT and saving!!
-I def planned on the pizza!
-Our trip is so close, it's ridiculous!!! BUT 48 hrs from now, I'll be in Orlando!!!

Now, moving on.

I'm so sad that your TR is over and the last line broke my heart. How are you doing sweet SIL?

I'm still chugging along with your PJ and I'm going to try to get all my thoughts and comments together soon (like tomorrow). There is so much great stuff I want to comment on, I don't know where to start! You weren't supposed to get finished before I got caught up! Geez! But, anyway, I'm loving everything!

Jackie,
I am so sad that it is over I really enjoyed your TR and the wedding planning. It is a shocker that the trip ends and then so suddenly you hit the chapter in your life that changed it forever. You are an incredibly strong girl and I adore you for your courage in life, your strength and your incredible energy. Thank you for everything you have given all of us. You are definitely your father's daughter. From what I have read he was an incredible man full of laughter and encouragement. You have always encouraged all of us and you are always here for us and I think all of us are grateful for that.

Continue to be strong

we love you

Teresa

Jackie,

Wow, what an amazing PJ and TR. I am sad it's over. I have to admit that I really did laugh and cry while on this journey with you. You are a doll! Such a strong girl, and hilarious too. Your writing is great. Love it. I enjoyed all of your pictures and wedding updates so much. The character pictures are just wonderful, too bad you couldn't keep them all to yourself. I mean "hello!" it's your wedding and they were your characters. I especially love the picture of you and your daddy when he is kissing you to give you away...it's really a great shot and your face says it all.

And although this is late, I am also very very sad to hear about your daddy. Nothing I can say will ease any pain you have but I, and all of us here on the DISBoards, are here for you, and are rooting for you. I think you're daddy would be SO happy that you continued your report, made funny comments about him, and were happy about your wedding. I am glad you shared the serial killer face with us. Lord knows he's in heaven right now making that exact face...in his sweatpants.

I look forward to other TR and continuing to watch you grow as a person and wife.

Jackie! So I officially must be the WORST disbride friend on the planet. I certainly never meant to be MIA for the past 5 months, but for some reason, I just couldn’t bring myself to come back! Wow, one certainly misses a lot when they fall off the face of the disPlanet don’t they?! So, there is NO WAY I can get caught up with my comments, so I’ll just have to hit some highlights! I am starting with Day 1 and just plugging along. I hope that it doesn’t get too confusing! LOL!

*That pic of Cindy all strapped in on the plane is AWESOME!!!

*on a side note, I’m so glad that Lacey took your dad’s dog in. Very sweet.

*I want that princess hoodie SO bad!! Every time we are in Disney, Joey says, let’s get it next trip. And the next trip comes and goes....grr.

*I LOVE the Osbourne lights. I just stood in awe for like 10 minutes. So cool.

*All this yummy food porn is making me SO hungry.

*Joey won’t ride Figment with me anymore, because all I do is complain and whine about how stupid it is now, and how it was so much better before. On a side note, I do that with Test Track too. I HATE it. First off, it’s loud and ugly, and the line is sooo long (sans fastpasses of course) and the ride is just so-so for me. Horizons was my favorite ride when I was a kid, cause I’m a dork like that. And I am still bitter about Test Track taking it’s place. Drives Joey crazy, especially since Test Track is one of his favorites.

*Belle better get over Gaston, she doesn’t want to make Beast angry!

*I have that signed Dotson SBP print too! Yay!

*So I just got to the cupcake meet and greet and your mom’s text message. What the French Toast?!? That makes me so mad and upset for you. I can’t even imagine. Ugh. Awful, awful, awful. Sounds like you handled it well, though. Much better than I would have!

*Lady Tremaine is amazing! I have never met her, and I love her now.

*Backstreet Boys!? Oh, I’m so upset! I’m an nsync girl all the way! Sigh...I guess I can forgive you.

*I love the pic of the guys running at the birds. Too funny! In case you were wondering, in Daytona, it’s ILLEGAL to scatter the birds, running or otherwise. It’s considered “molesting the wildlife” We saw someone get pulled over by beach patrol one day for running through a flock of seagulls. It was rather ridiculous.

*I’m loving all the getting ready pics and the guys too. What a good looking group you guys are!

Ok...so I’m going to stop here for now. I know I am SOOO far behind, so I hope you don’t mind my past due comments. I am loving everything so far! More comments coming soon! I only have like 20 pages left!! :lmao:

Just caught up with two installments. I cry too when we leave the park for the last time.

* That wallet is really cute! I may have to get that one... we just spent a lot of money on vacation so I'm going to wait a bit before buying anything, but I will probably end up getting it!
* I love your pics from Cinderella's. I also really appreciate your commentary and hearing about the conversations that you have with the characters! You think of such clever things to say ;)
* It is totally lame that they never fixed your door. That's pretty unacceptable. Boo on them.
* So sad your TR is over :( I know it's not too long til the next one though!

I'm so sad that it's over (well, almost over...). I am still so sadden by your loss and I cannot imagine how hard it must continue to be for you. Sending lots of virtual hugs your way as usual. So glad that you have your next trip so soon! Make sure you do a trip report!

Wow, I didn't realize I had so many comments! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. :)

Oh, no! Don't let your TR end! I'm pretty sure I cry or at least tear up EVERY time I leave MK so I'm glad I'm not the only one. That walk back down Main Street towards the exit always gets me. DF understands and tries to make me feel better but there's probably a small part of him that thinks I'm crazy!

I am so sorry you had to come home from your amazing trip to such tragic news but I hope you have been able to find some peace in the time that has passed. You are amazing for being able to write such a great, fun trip report when you are going through something so incredibly difficult. I really hope it has helped you in some way. I know I have really enjoyed it! Can't wait to read the rest!

Thank you so much, especially for your kind words. Writing this TR really did help me a lot--- although, it was difficult at times. I'll explain better in my conclusion post!

Wow the end snuck up on me!!! I didn't realize you were so close to finishing!

I LOVE that little kid with all his different character clothes! That just screams Disney World to me! So much fun!

Ha! I know. He was adorable.

Nooooo! It can't be over! *pouts* You're just gonna have to go Disney more often. ;) I've loved reading your TR.

LOL at the kid. Maybe he loved them all and wanted to get them all 'represented'? Or didn't put any thought into it whatsoever. :lmao:

I get emotional, too, upon leaving. At least this next trip, I can comfort myself by thinking of the February trip. But after that, I think the next vacation is going to be CA because I miss my friends out there! (And, sure, I sorta promised Doug after the last CA trip that I wouldn't make him drive the 6-8 hours down to DL, but I'm getting awfully tempted, thanks to Deena and Melissa's TRs!)

Yay for Smokey! The second picture, it looks like he's saying "Where's my souvenir?!" ;)

If it makes you feel better, I'm going this month, December, and then in August 2013 (hopefully sometime in between then too). You're not done with Jackie TRs!!

I was actually a horrible mommy and didn't get Smokey a present. I don't think he's forgiven me yet.

Jackie I am so sad that your TR is over. :sad1: I have been kind of a bad friend when it come to commenting. But I want you to know that I have read every post. I love the way that you write, its very honest and funny. I am happy that you had such a fabulous time and I am looking forward to reading about your May trip (please write a TR!!! ::yes::)

I am going to get all emotional here but I just want to remind you of how awesome you are. I am so happy to have met you on these boards. You are like one of my bestest friends and you mean so much to me.

Awww I love you so much, Melissa. I am so glad you were able to be a part of my wedding day via my something borrowed!!

Aww, Jackie! I don't want it to be over. :worried:

Everything was so beautiful. I'm really going to miss your updates.

But, as I said before, at least I can FaceBook-stalk you. :rotfl2:

I am really going to miss my updates too! But thank you. <3

-I can't wait to ride ToT! I LOVE that ride!!!!!
-You should make me some cookies and send them to me.
-I'm telling you.. that room crap is ridiculous!!! You should've drop kicked them.

Ok, I'll finish later. I have to go eat my ice cream and watch The Voice from last night.

-You’re in WDW now! I am jealous, but still excited for my trip!
-Okay, I guess you’re right. That baby gorilla is KIND of cute. Kind of. (Okay, no, he’s adorable, but he’s not as cute as that baby hippo I posted on your wall.)
-If you do a 5 year VR, I’m coming. I just wanted to let you know. So you have to plan it around my teaching schedule. Just FYI!
-No, the alcoholic lemonade wasn’t terribly strong (Chris wouldn’t have liked it.)
-I cracked up at your comment about the donkey. Once, we rode POTC with a bunch of frat boys who yelled “DONKEY!!!” and threw their arms up every time they saw the donkey.
-LOL! Donald WAS giving me the finger!
-What kind of cookies would you like? I make really good choc chip ones.
-You never finished, silly girl.

I'm so sad that your TR is over and the last line broke my heart. How are you doing sweet SIL?

Oh, thank you so much sissy-in-law. I'm okay. Thank you. <3

Thank you so much, Teresa. I really am my dad's daughter--- my middle name is even the feminine form of his name (Andrea/Andrew). We have the same twisted sense of humor. This was such a sweet reply. XOXO <3

Thank you so much for your reply, Courtenay! I'm giggling over here. You are totally right: he is laying on his couch in heaven wearing his sweat-shorts (he even wore those outside at night in December because "My legs don't get cold!") making the serial killer face at all of us. Thank you for your sweet, sweet comments and for following along!

-Omigosh you said disPlanet! Ha!
-Just buy the princess hoodie! Seriously! How often do you get to go?
-I actually never got to go on Horizons. I think it was still open during my first trip, but I didn’t go on it for whatever reason. Very sad.
-I still haven’t talked to my mom since her little hissy fit at my dad’s wake. Oh Shirley.
-I can’t wait to tell Chris he molested the wildlife!
-Yeah, my MOH and MaH are prettyful.

P.S. I'll totes understand if you don't catch up: this thing is a beast.

Just caught up with two installments. I cry too when we leave the park for the last time.

-I think the characters think I am weird sometimes. I once asked Sleeping Beauty if she had just awoken from a nap and she said "No, I'm awake." It was very awkward. Stupid Aurora.

I'm so sad that it's over (well, almost over...). I am still so sadden by your loss and I cannot imagine how hard it must continue to be for you. Sending lots of virtual hugs your way as usual. So glad that you have your next trip so soon! Make sure you do a trip report!

Thank you so much. <3 I will be doing a TR--- if I get my cleaning done like a good Disbride, I might even start my PTR today Woohoo!

Hello all! I just wanted to let you know that I started a PTR for my May Trip. If you wish, follow along here: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2923121

Now, I'm going to copy Danielle and do three kinds of Glad I Dids/Wish I Didn'ts: Planning, Wedding, and Honeymoon.

Planning

Glad I Did...
*Went for a Site Visit. Now, I went for a Site Visit after I chose my venues so it was really just to see The Attic, but it really helped to solidify my choices. I was able to picture The Attic, which made planning so much easier. And, well, I got to go to Franck's, which was just exciting.

*Had a Planning Session. The planning session was probably my favorite part of the planning process. Meeting with Christy was just fun; I was able to show Chris The Attic; and we were able to taste all of our amazing food. Chris and I still talk about Charles and how is he "the man." We just felt so grown up and special at our PS. I'm also really glad that we didn't have any parents along for our session--- our wedding was truly about us and what we wanted.

*Found the Disboards. I really would have been lost without you girls. My wedding was one million times better than it could have been without this website. Without you all, I never would have had my Beauty and the Beast centerpiece or my white chocolate nametag favors or my MK cake: the list goes on. Heck, I wouldn't have even had a something borrowed! (<3 Melissa).

Wish I Had...

*Not bought everything that said "Bride" on it. I went a littttle overboard with the Bride stuff. I have a nice totebag I never even used!

*Not stressed so much. This is something everyone says and I didn't believe them, but everything managed to turn out fine. I was a nervous wreck before the wedding--- as soon as December 6th hit, I had the shakes. I wish I would have just calmed down! So, Future Brides: CHILL! It will be okay. Your wedding day will be lovely!

*Chosen my bridal party more carefully. This is my #1 wedding regret. Now, the bridal party we ended up with was fantastic, but we had a messy road getting there. For one, Becky (my Matron of Honor) wasn't even in the BP originally, and that's just ridiculous: I should have asked her from the start. I also wish I would have found a way to ask Lacy to step down at some point--- or perhaps told her that she could be an "honorary bridesmaid" and have the title but not have to do any of the work. Just something. Had I done that, I would have saved myself a hell of a lot of wedding drama. Finally, there was another bridesmaid that I just never should have asked, but I think we all know that story. :rolleyes1

(On a side note, my Matron of Honor is PREGNANT!!! EEEEKKK I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!)

Wedding Day

Glad I Did...

*Had a morning ceremony. I was a little on the fence about this because it's not "traditional," but I was so nervous the morning of the wedding that I don't think I could have made it until a 5pm ceremony. I am so, so glad we were married at 10am.

*Had a winter wedding. The weather was just perfect for our wedding day: it was about 70 and slightly breezy. Absolutely perfect!

*Chose The Attic. I am really, truly just in love with The Attic. I wish I could live there. It's also perfect for a small group--- we didn't feel too big or too small there.

*Had a small wedding. There were only 18 people at our wedding, and I really wouldn't have had it any other way. While I was a little sad at the beginning of all this that I wouldn't have a huge, traditional wedding, I really loved my small wedding.

*Didn't do a First Look. One of my favorite memories of the wedding day is Chris's face when he saw me come out of the Model A Ford. He cried!

*Had the Model A Ford. I'll admit it: I wanted the carriage. I wanted the carriage soooo badly. I've been obsessed with My Little Pony since I was two years old, and I wanted those ponies. But, after looking at the pictures, the Model A Ford was perfect for the Boardwalk. And all of the men in our group loved it! (Plus, we got to meet our BFF Dick Hardman.)

*Did an Epcot photoshoot. Even though this wasn't technically on the wedding day, I still think it counts. I love all of our pictures Regina took, and I can't wait to work with her again in December.

*Extended Randy's time. We originally only had him for 4 hours. I am SO glad we had him for 7! We wouldn't have had any character pictures if we hadn't, and those are my favorites from the wedding day.

*Sprung for characters. We had Mickey, Pluto, and Major Domo, and those were easily the best parts of the wedding for me. Everyone was so surprised by Major Domo, and Mickey and Pluto were just a blast. I have been spoiled for character interaction for the rest of my life.

*And, finally--- Had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding. My wedding day was absolutely beautiful. I had never been one of those girls who dreamed about her wedding day, but when I was 19 I sent Chris a picture of sea breeze point and said "This is where I want to get married." I never thought that would happen. I was able to create memories at Disney (with my best friends, my husband, and my daddy) that will last me the rest of my life. I wouldn't have been as happy about my wedding day if it hadn't been in WDW. Sometimes, I still can't believe I was actually a Disney Bride.

Wish I Had...
I honestly don't have any real wedding "regrets." There are just some pictures I wish I had told Randy to get: I didn't get a shoe picture (and I was wearing designer shoes!), and I didn't get a few others I would have loved--- but I also didn't think to request them. That's really all I can say!

On the Fence...

*Had a Dessert Party. I'm really not sure if I should have had a DP--- everyone was just tired by then because our wedding was so gosh darn early. I think I would have done it, but just had it be for Chris and me. :lmao: Is that allowed?!

*Had a guitarist. I was too focused on Chris to hear any of the songs I requested! I really don't know if he was any good or not!

Honeymoon

Glad I Did...

*Went to signature/new restaurants. We tried so many new restaurants on this trip, and we made some new favorites. I am officially a Disney Dining snob now.

*Did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. This was probably my favorite part of my honeymoon. Our TG was just phenomenal, and I learned so much about Disney. And, well, I got to go in the tunnels!

*Used a gift card to pay for stuff. This wasn't something I mentioned in my TR, but we saved for a year and put all of our money on a gift card. That, in addition to some money from the honeymoon registry and some Christmas presents, paid for almost all of our honeymoon. We had roughly $2500 in gift cards, and that paid for 10 table service meals, countless quick services, a dooney, four art books, and so many other souvenirs. It was so nice not to have to stress about "real" money while on vacation.

*Used TiW instead of the DDP. I know I've mentioned this before, but I am against the DDP. It's just too much money for what you get. TiW works so well for us, and you even get it off of alcohol too.

*Used the GF for my free night. I had wanted to stay at the GF for 16 years, but I am just too cheap to pay those prices. I am so glad it was free, and so glad that Jockey John upgraded us to a MK view.

*Stayed in WDW for my honeymoon. I had reallllly wanted to take a Disney cruise, but when my grandparents offered up their DVC points, I just couldn't say no to a nearly free honeymoon. And I am so glad I stayed in WDW: I am really grumpy when I am not in WDW, and I just don't think any other place would have felt right to me.

Wish I Had...

*Spent more time at the Beach Club! We were only there for four nights, and we really didn't know how much we were going to love it there. If I could do it all over again, I would have stayed there for a week and BLT for a few days.

*Arranged transportation for the morning-after brunch. This would have just made my life so much easier. I also had forgotten that transportation was messed up due to the half marathon.

On the Fence...

*Undiscovered Future World Tour. The tour was interesting, but BradJosh was NOT!

*Bay Lake Tower. Chris and I had wanted to stay here sooo badly, and while the room was just so pretty and it's in such a great location to the MK, I hated switching monorails and the service, as we have seen, was less than stellar. But, I do still think it's a great honeymoon resort, so I am undecided.

I'm glad to see other brides post "glad to/ glad not to" posts.. i really think it is beneficial to other brides.. great job :thumbsup2 oh & by the way u are such a sweet person :lovestruc

* I would love it if you could pick me up that wallet when you're there! Just if you happen to see it around, don't go crazy looking or anything :)
* Congrats to your matron of honor on her pregnancy!! That is very exciting :goodvibes
* I feel you on the morning wedding! Mine was in the afternoon and it felt like it took ages to get to it, I was so nervous all morning!
* I love the attic too (though I've never been there, only seen pictures!). My dream is to do a vow renewal at Disney someday, and the attic would definitely be one of my top choices.
* Your Epcot photoshoot was so beautiful, I think I would probably pick Epcot over MK because there are so many beautiful places to get pictures (plus it's cheaper ;) )
* I totally agree that the DDP isn't so great for how much it costs (we got it free so it was a good deal for us!). TiW is an excellent deal, but I'm not at Disney often enough to get an AP!
* Okay, I'm off to check out your PTR!

I am with you on the about the bridal party part. That too is the only part of the wedding I regret. I hate seeing pictures of my maid of honor in them and realizing that we are no longer friends and better for it.

Note to self: stop buying stuff with "bride" on it. Oh, and can you tattoo the part about not stressing so much to my forehead? Thanks love! ;)

UGH, thanks for the warning on the bridal party.. I'm so glad all that drama is finally over for you!!

Thank you so much for making that list!!

Jackie!!!!! I'm so far behind. This is just a message to say...I've read but not commented. I'm sorry :)

Aww thank you so much! And I LOVE reading Glad I Dids. I think they're just helpful and interesting!

Oh, I will be on a QUEST for the wallet, Becky! I'll pick you out a cute one too. And I think we ALL want Disney Vow Renewals. I wonder if Disney would let us do a big group VR. It would totally save lots of money.

I'm still on the fence if I wish I had done a MK shoot. (I probably should have noted that in my list!) I had wanted one, but I was too afraid that the pictures wouldn't turn out well and I would have been heartbroken.

I didn't realize that--- I am so sorry! I am really happy with the BP I ended up with: I've known my MOH since I was 14 and my MaH since I was 4. These ladies aren't going anywhere!

Note to self: stop buying stuff with "bride" on it. Oh, and can you tattoo the part about not stressing so much to my forehead? Thanks love! ;)

Ha! The Bride stuff is ADDICTING! I have a tote bag I can sell you? :lmao:

That's fine! I'm just glad you're reading. :)

I'm so glad you did this! I am more than just a little sad your PJ/TR is complete. I will certainly check out your PTR though...

--I am super duper jealous that you got to have a planning session. It just wanted in the cards for us (financially and time-wise). The thing I wanted to do most was the cake tasting! :) I am glad you were able to get to your PS!
--As far as the Bride tote is concerned...I think you should still use it! I have a little bag that says bride on it that I bring to prenatal yoga! :rotfl:
--I agree with you on the morning ceremony! I am so glad we got married early in the morning...that way we had all day to celebrate our wedding day!
--I also agree with you about the first look. I bet Chris' heart melted when he saw you for the first time! :lovestruc
--I am glad to know you were happy with your EPCOT shoot. We didn't do anything special like that, but DH has agreed to do one for our 10th year VR! EPCOT is my favorite park, and I would pick that over MK in a heartbeat!!!
--Don't you love how you get 20% off alcohol with TiW? I know you aren't a big drinker, but it still is AWESOME! :drinking1
