Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Hi all! Heading down this weekend for the Pandora AP preview at AK (yes, I will find any excuse possible to book a trip). It's a quick two night trip, staying Poly CL. If anyone has any Poly CL questions, needs any photos of anything, etc, let me know and I'll report back when I return.

Also I didn't realize this when I booked the AP preview or my Poly room but an added bonus is that Friday is the first day of the new MK fireworks show. I'm planning at least one night either in my room or lounge to see what the new show is like from there. Hoping it's just as good as Wishes has always been. :confused3

Thanks!

I'm jealous. We had a ROL dining package at tiffins last night and tried to get a peak in Pandora but couldn't really see a anything. I did see the new fireworks show Tuesday night from the 3rd floor RPC balcony...they have been doing some late night run throughs...its awesome, actually has more fireworks than Wishes. We leave tomorrow so will miss the first official Happily Ever After.

I hope you've had a great trip! I'm jealous you're there for one last Wishes. I tried to get DW to let me take DS out of school a day so we could stay Thur-Sun so I could be there Thursday night, but I got shot down. :duck:

No idea if legitimate but I've seen some Twitter and board chatter about some extra big bursts and such for tonight's show? Maybe something special?

Thanks for the feedback on the previews. I've been trying not to watch the photos and videos I've seen floating around! :-)

Perhaps someone can help me with some timing issues on check-in for Poly CL.

We have a split stay starting at AOA, and then moving to Poly CL the first week in June (have to save money somewhere for that major splurge on Poly CL TPV!!). We will have a car. I am trying to decide if I check-in before we go to the park (very early morning) or after?

My plan is to move the car from AOA to Poly before going to the park since our morning park is Epcot - and well, the monorail is easier than the bus!

We have always had luck checking in early and getting a room immediately and we always take the first flight to Orlando (AKL in January - we had our room at 7:00 am in the morning, and the same with Beach Club CL a few years ago). However, I'm thinking that this is obviously less likely when the pool of rooms is whittled down to Hawaii building only, and then TPV even further.

What are the hours of the CL desk in Poly? If we try to check-in around 7:00, is someone there? I really want the experience of club level check-in - not just the regular front desk. If a room is not ready do they have the ability to hold luggage? Not all of it - I would just like to get the toiletries out of the Florida heat they will endure in the car. I don't want Disney to move the luggage because we will be back at the Poly to use the pool around noon, and I know it can often take longer than that for the luggage to arrive at the 2nd hotel.

Probably only going to do this splurge for TPV once!! So, 3rd floor balcony is our top priority and I want to have the best chance at getting it.

So, will 7:00 am check-in work better or noon-ish? I realize the room may not be ready at either time. We are checking in on a Thursday and there is at least one room still bookable for Poly CL TPV for the day we check-in - if that matters.

Sorry for being so wordy!!

Tonight's YC offerings: hot : chicken skewers with mixed grains & honey citrus dipping sauce & pigs in a blanket with ketchup & mustard for dipping.

Cold: mixed olives, caprese salad, civece poached shrimp, beets with cheese & walnuts. Tonight was olive hummus with the crackers & cheese. Crudités was cucumbers, carrots & grape tomatoes.

Breakfast had coffee cake & blueberry mini muffins plus all the usual bagels, cereals & fruit.

The new quick service in the Fittings & Fairings shop is to open May 15th. There is a sign outside the door announcing the opening.

Edit to add desserts: raspberry, lemon & chocolate (decorate your own)mini cupcakes, brownies, Rice Krispies treats, chocolate chip, suagar & oatmeal cookies, panna cota, white chocolate Oreo bars & the absolutely spectacular s'mores moouse cup. Desserts seem pretty much the same with maybe 1 different item a night. But still quite a nice spread.

We leave two weeks from tomorrow for a Poly CL/AKL CL split stay. Any tips or food updates you have for the Poly would be great. Enjoy your stay!

I am curious to hear about the fireworks. We will be there on 20th and we plan on watching from Poly. I am also curious if they have any bubbly in Lounge. If not I can drink white wine - but a little bubbly goes a long way :rolleyes1 if you don't mind!?!

Thank you so much!

Wishes was just the regular show nothing extra that I noticed anyway.

Enjoy the new fireworks and Pandora preview. Safe travels.

I said that I wouldn't watch anything on the internet because I want to be surprised -- but I have failed. And from what I have seen, this new show will be just as good or (dare I even say) better than Wishes....And I am the BIGGEST Wishes fan.

Yeah, I have peaked by accident a couple of times. I was worried all the talk of show using more projections would lessen the out-of-park viewing from places like Poly, but it seems the early feedback is my concerns were misguided. I guess I'll find out tonight!

Also, an alcohol report from WL (because we all know that's important!).

CMs have to get the alcohol for you (both bottled and draft), and you can leave the lounge with it. They'll even give you a plastic cup so you can take it outside!

I actually haven't had any of the beer...that's more my husband's thing. But I just wanted to share the "rules," since it seems to be a hot topic lately!

Thanks

I'm not sure about AKL, but when we checked into WL this past Sunday, we were greeted by a cast member and given a little tour (our room wasn't ready yet). When we got to the room, there was a resort map and customized itinerary in the room.

Did you do online check in and how did you arrive? We will be driving in this time and I am not sure of the procedure. We haven't stayed CL or at the WL since 2008. So I would like a "tour" of the new lounge.

We will be arriving late morning from the Legoland portion of our trip, we may also have groceries for the rest of our group that is not staying CL (but at WL) and arriving later on ME. Since I want to get the car returned to the Car Care Center after checking in, if our room isn't ready would Bell Services still be the ones taking care of our luggage? Will they hold our groceries too? It will be dry goods and water, not a huge amount, but still I don't want to impose. I know these questions seem silly, but I like knowing the procedure ahead of time.

A little off topic but has anyone returned a car to the Car Care Center. We have an Alamo rental and there is supposed to be a shuttle. I am thinking it would be best if just one of us returned it and the other stayed at the hotel and swam with DD or had lunch etc. I am guessing this would take at least an hour?

I don't think I could do a split stay. I dislike planning this transitioning. :-) Okay, I dislike the thought of explaining all the logistics to my DH who travels multiple times a month for work, but the whole Disney planning just makes his eyes glaze over. o_O

I'm gaining weight just reading these. Wondering if I should buy an extra seat on the plane for the return flight... :cake:

Can anyone comment about how the club lounges deal with food allergies?
We have a non top 8 allergy in my family, and before booking club level at BC I called to make sure we could be accommodated. I received an answer that sounded something like 'club level guests are well taken care of, just let us know ahead of time'. However, after reading these posts, it looks like menus are pre-set. Are they able to give me lists of ingredients? Or bring in special food?
Has anyone dealt with this?
TIA

I am not qualified to comment in ANY way since I have no direct experience, but I often see guests get separately prepared/wrapped items/plates from the back/kitchen areas. Presumably these have been arranged in advance based on that individual's needs. I'm not sure the process of how that info gets relayed to Disney, but the chatter around here has pretty consistently been that CLs (and Disney in general) are very good with dietary needs.

I'm assuming that DSS may be your first stop in calling for assistance.

Hopefully someone with more direct experience can comment.

Hope that helps, at least a little! :thumbsup2

Uhm - currently at the CR staying at Tower CL but the CM have already left and I had to take care of something so I did it downstairs. As I am waiting to get assistance this "kid" walks right by me and my girls with his pants literally hanging below his butt cheeks. I was so shocked to see this at the CR and the fact that my 8 year old said "mom look at his pants" ... I did say "Jesus Christ pull your pants up my kids don't need to see all that". Super friendly CM I then stepped up to apologized and we are starting to take care of what we need to take care of. Then this kids (now mind you he looked about 17/18 so i use the term "kid" loosely here).
The here comes this raging lady asking me how dare I "curse" at her son and I told her for one I didn't curse and two he needs to put his pants where they belong. She then accused me of having used the words "****". she starts muttering for me to not dare say anything to her child and then this went back and forth a bit until i told the CM I would like security to get her away from me and my kids.

Now excuse me! Did I dream this? Am I dilutional to not ever have expected anything like this at the CR? Is this what it's coming to? I know it's not directly CL related but since I am staying CL I wanted to post here.

Our city passed an ordinance against that type of thing because it became so wide spread & was offensive. It didn't stop it completely but did help. I would think that Disney does have at least an unspoken policy since they have a no bathing suit policy, though I doubt it's an offensive they see often. As for saying something to the guy (at that age, I don't consider him a child), well unfortunately, the days of correcting, etc other people's little tax deductions is gone. Now people are more likely to act as that woman did, even if you save their child from climbing on a rail & breaking their neck. Probably would've been best to inform a CM & let them deal with it, sorry to say. It does suck though, no one wants see another person's undies.

Newbie here. First post!! I have a question about late check in club level. On previous trips where we have stayed club level we always checked in during the window the CL concierge were working. We always had a wonderful check in experience, complete with questions, a welcome packet and so on. We are taking a trip in July to AKL club level where our flight will get in too late for us to check in while the concierge staff is still on site. So my questions are: has anyone done this and do you still get the welcome packet "safari" folder with all the maps and customized itinerary? When I booked the trip it was recommended at the time I do the online check in and potentially be texted our room number and just head straight to our room. I'm just trying to wrap my brain around how this works and if they put the packet and such in your room to find when you arrive? or if we would need to check in at the CL desk the next morning to receive it?

Thanks for the help!
On our last trip we checked in a little after midnight. I had emailed the Club Level CMs (this was right before the DSS change) and told them we would be checking in late. They responded that we would indeed check in at the front desk but we could stop by in the morning at the CL desk if we needed anything, had questions, etc. We have stayed CL at AKL many times so that was not necessary for us. Our Safari folder was waiting at the front desk at check in. The front desk CMs were super nice. It was a speedy process. We got our folder and he checked to make sure our magic bands worked. We were exhausted and I think we looked it. He gave my daughter tons of stickers, etc and we were on the way to the room. I do not feel like we missed out on anything by checking in late at the front desk vs. the CL Lounge. It was strange being in the lobby that late. It was so quiet and calm. That first step into the lobby at AKL always takes my breath away. It just "feels right"! Enjoy your trip!

View attachment 236527 Came back to our room for a mid day break and was surprised by this! The Magic must be lined up perfectly for us this trip. I'm just over the moon:) and I'm def gonna eat those strawberries. Too bad my husband doesn't like them ;)

What a great surprise! Hope you're having a great time :goodvibes.

Quick WL report...

The wine/cheese selections tonight were:

Assorted sushi nigiri with pickled ginger and wasabi

Antipasto platter with house made dips

Bread service and dip

Lemon chicken garden vegetable salad

Potato chowder

Vegetable samosas with cucumber yogurt

PB&J

Baked pasta

Just wanted to give everyone an idea of the types of things they have here!

Thanks for the info. Hope you're having a great time and enjoying WL CL :wizard:.

Hi Everyone! I've been reading up on this thread and decided to jump in! We are headed to Poly CL in 22 days (!!!!) and I very much appreciate all of the information from other posters! I will do my best to take photos and give any updates about our experiences :)

How exciting! Have a great trip :yay:.

I think the CL desk is open 7am-10pm, but hopefully others will verify that or correct me if I'm wrong. If you check in and your room isn't ready, your luggage can be stored with bell services until your room is ready ;).

We leave two weeks from tomorrow for a Poly CL/AKL CL split stay.

What a great split! Have a great time :goodvibes.

I am curious to hear about the fireworks. We will be there on 20th and we plan on watching from Poly.

Your trip is right around the corner! Have a great time :cool1:.

Your last statement has me ROFL. :rotfl2:

Check-in/greeting experiences can vary. There was no greeter at WL when we went in November, we checked-in at the front desk. I think we were then escorted up to the lounge and they did a very brief tour, but it was very quick and not with a CL CM. I was not given any CL paperwork or anything like that. There's a poster there now who I think said they were greeted out front, not sure where they checked in. So your mileage may vary!

Luggage - yes, you can leave your bags with WL bell services while you wait for your room to be ready. Just drive up and they will help you unload / put on one of their carts. You can then go park yourself or they will valet (for a pretty hefty price, like $20+ a day, but don't quote me on that number).

I have read on here that they do have fridges if any of your food turns out to be perishable - have not done this myself but I've read that frequently. You can leave anything with them, they have a big storage area and people do this all the time. Tipping is usually appreciated, if you are so inclined. When you get your room, just call the bell services button on the phone and they will bring your luggage/stuff up to your room.

I wouldn't think the rental car return process should take an hour, but no personal experience there. WL and the car center are close (the way the crow flies), although a bit convoluted roadways to actually get to/from there. But baring big delays waiting for a shuttle or something, you should be able to do this in 30 mins or less I would think. You could always get an uber from the car center back to WL if you don't want to mess with the shuttle.

Hope you enjoy WL CL. We really liked the new lounge back in November and thought the food was very, very good.

Does anyone have experience of dealing with food allergies when staying CL? DH has been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and I need to note this on all of our dining reservations but can't figure out how to do this on ones I've already booked. Could what used to be IPO help with this and will they note it on the room reservation to help with lounge service?
