Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

The last time I stayed at BC CL was 2014 and we were also given beer that was unopened to enjoy on our balcony. Has this changed?

Yes, it has. All alcohol (with the exception of the evening cordials and moscato at dessert time) is served by the CMs. The beer and wine is only out 5-7 and a CM is positioned by it and will serve it to you: opening beer and pouring wine. You can request beer and wine at any time of the day, and a CM will get it for you, opened/poured. They told us we can have up to 2 bottles/glasses per person at a time.

Thank you! I was hoping someone would say that! Going to email now.

:thumbsup2 Generally speaking, I don't have any misgivings at all about utilizing (or bugging) DSS with questions, requests, follow-up, etc. It's a service we all pay for and that Disney touts relatively heavily, so why not use it. I don't personally use them for much more than room requests and cabana bookings, but I would if I needed it.

Hope the time you wanted isn't showing up because they booked it for you!

I just sent an email directly to the WL IPO, and I received a form email back from them stating that they would respond in 24 hours. However, the last line of the email has me confused. "To assist you with all your future planning needs, we are excited to share a new email address and can now be reached at Disney.Signature.Services@DisneyWorld.com." Do I need to forward my original email to DSS? Or should I assume that WL IPO will answer this time and then use the DSS email for everything going forward?

I would send a new e-mail to DSS.

I think you can request bunk beds, but I'm not 100% sure as this wasn't something we wanted/needed. Hopefully there will be someone else who can help.

This is correct. Unless it's changed, bunk beds can be requested, but are not a bookable category for WL CL (same goes for AKL CL) :).

Not from my perspective. Call/e-mail away! :-)

:thumbsup2

Hope DSS was able to help you :flower3:.

Do you know if YC CL also has Moscato? Thanks!

We've always been given beer unopened apart from our recent stay at AKL CL. My DH asked for a couple to take back to the room and they refused. When we queried this with Don? he stated that it's never been allowed and brought a manager to confirm. We did explain that this had never been an issue in other CLs but they wouldn't budge.

I emailed them about the refrigerators in the refurbed YC CL rooms. They got the answer for me and could not have been nicer. By all means, write or call them, people!!! :thumbsup2

Update about AKL CL food:

They did start the new options today, but I need to clarify what actually seems to be the case as opposed to what the desk CM told me.

In effect, they are taking recipes from Jiko and Sanaa as well as dishes from Boma, and showcasing a different restaurant nightly. Tonight, for example, we had butter chicken from Sanaa, as well as their tomato soup. Neither was prepared by staff at Sanaa; they were replicated by the CL chefs upstairs. The dishes were very good, in any case.

All other offerings appear to have remained the same in terms of sides and desserts.

Afternoon snacks included: gummy bears, homemade potato chips (with old bay and without), veggies and dip, whole fresh fruit, assorted crackers and hummus, chocolate covered craisins, cheddar whales, trail mix.

Was it really labeled as Old Bay, or was it "Chesapeake seasoning"? (It matters to Marylanders! ;) )

Unfortunately, my boys will have to travel with their passports (Canadians and they won't take drivers license as proof of age) they're 21/25 and finally legal to drink at WDW.... may try seeing if we can show a photocopy of their passports, that would be easier to carry around and at least they don't risk losing an important document!!! PS.... we are staying Club Level at AKL Nov 11-16

When I was at AKL in March, a few CMs asked me for my ID one time each. After that, they all remembered me and didn't ask again. Hopefully your sons will only have to carry their passports up a few times!

I'm staying 8/6-13 at GF SL. I booked with an AP rate and won't activate my AP until I arrive. I was told that I have to go to a park to activate my AP before I can check in to my hotel. @GADisneyDad14 or any other AP holder have you heard this or had to do this?

I've never been asked to show my AP when I've stayed on an AP discount (which has maybe been 4-5 times in the past two years). I stopped at the desk the first time I stayed with an AP discount (after receiving a text enabling me to go directly to my room) and it almost felt like I was inconveniencing the CM! I think if you activate your AP shortly after you arrive, they'll be able to see it in the system and you won't have to stop by the desk unless they specifically ask you to.

Thanks pangyal.

I'm not sure and I may be remembering wrong but I recall a cm saying the reason they don't let you have an unopened bottle of beer in akl is just in case the bottle lids fell into the savannah as it would be dangerous to the animals because of the size, they try to reduce this risk as much as possible. If they don't give you a lid they know it can't fall and the animals won't choke on them. Doesn't make much sense as you can buy unopened beer in the gift shop but there you go lol

If this is still true, this is disappointing.

By any chance, do the CM serve Dasani bottles? My wife and I like to have unopened beers in the fridge for when we need it, I was thinking maybe we could pour our beer into a bottle of water.

(This awkward moment when you start to realize that to enjoy your booze in-room at AKL, you need to have a check-list of things to include in your baggage, including glasses for the wine, a funnel…)
