Celebrities you dislike/hate

Heaton. Not sure why she's on the list and I'm not even 100% sure who she is. I think she was on Everyone loves Raymond but I have never watched a full episode through. So don't hold me to that. Never watched anything she's been on.

I'm assuming it's probably because Patricia Heaton is pro-life.

My disliked celebrities:

Amy Schumer
Ashley Judd - and I used to LOVE her!
Beyonce
Gwyneth Paltrow
Josh Whedon
Joy Behar
Kanye West
Kathy Griffin
Kim Kardashian & the other Kardashians
Lena Dunham
Madonna
Meryl Streep
Rachel Maddow
Rosie O'Donnell
Samantha Bee

There are SO many I dislike, especially now that they aren't shy about expressing their political beliefs ...and disparaging/mocking the half of their audience which holds other views.

Yes! i keep adding more & more to my "list"! I'm getting tired of getting preached at, ridiculed, sneered at, & name-called by these so-called celebrities w/ elitist attitudes who, I guess because they're famous, think they're more enlightened & more intelligent than everyone else. I'm looking at you, George Clooney! I don't want to add you & Matt Damon to my list, but I'm close! LOL!

I don't really know that much about Mark Wahlberg, but, just recently, he said something (& I can't remember the exact quote) about how people/fans aren't that interested in his political opinions & talking about the different "hot topics" wasn't what his fans wanted from him. And, suddenly, he has my respect because I appreciate that from him, &, while I'm not a regular viewer of "Blue Bloods," he has my attention now.

Taylor Swift received criticism for NOT coming out & endorsing a presidential candidate, &, while I don't like everything about her, I respect her more for not getting political.

Like others have mentioned, I don't care if others have different viewpoints than I do. It's the blatant disrespect & ridicule & the active spreading of hate/******* w/ which I take issue.

There's lots more - those were the first 3 that came to mind.

Not that I agree with all of them (or most of them), but people are people. If someone is handed celebrity status and a platform then they should use it. No different than us normal people using the internet, friendships or jobs to express ourselves.

I wonder how people would feel if they were told to stick to being a house wife, banker, receptionist, IT person or plumber rather than discuss their views and thoughts with people in their circle, Facebook or the internet. We want them to essentially be our slaves of entertainment; it's disgusting.

I know they may not technically be "celebrities" but U2 is huge on my list. I am and always have been a huge fan, but in 2005 I went to a concert and they were so nasty about George W Bush. Granted I didn't always agree or disagree, but all I wanted them to do was shut up and sing. I don't pay $$$ to listen to you be nasty about people, so I took a long break. So, Joshua Tree was, and is my favorite all time album. This year was the 30th anniversary. So, I give in and bought general admission tickets for their concert in Indy. My sister and I stood for 5 hours to get in and another 4 hours for the concert. It was another hate the current president, lecture about love and hate, and just a huge political rally. I wasn't there to agree or disagree. I was there to hear their music and enjoy a beautiful night with the roof open at Lucas Oil Field and we were lucky to be about 6 feet from the stage. I was disgusted. Shut up and sing. I may or may not agree with your politics, I didn't want a lecture, I just wanted to hear the music.

The funny thing is the best concert I have ever been to is Elton John with just his piano in Las Vegas, he just sang for almost three hours. perfect.

I also cannot stand anyone preaching to me about what they think is good for "middle America" when they have all the money in the world, rant over! Burn me away!

That's a shame. Agree or not, Bono is one of those celebrities who seems to walk the walk and I always respected that. But, it sucks that he turned a concert into a hate fest. He seems so respectful in interviews, but I guess that's not always the case.

Kardasians

Any celebrity that goes on a political rant. It may be that they have a forum but when someone is paying to hear someone sing or act, they don't want a political rally. Same with award shows Hold a rally somewhere else on your own time for those who want to hear it.
Tom Cruise for the fact he hasn't seen his daughter in years and keeping his other kids away from Nicole
Women on the view
Sheryl on The Talk

These celebrities are simply using their platforms to stand up for what they believe in. If I had the chance to make an impact on the world because people listen to me, I'd take it too.

I don't know who specifically is spreading hate and *******, so I can't comment on that.

Kidding aside, I simply cannot stand country music.
Not liking the genre is entirely different from a general dislike/hatred of hundreds of unnamed persons.
For one thing, it all sounds the same, and in many ways it's indistinguishable from pop.
Or perhaps the other way around? Country is one of the music types that initiated and influenced pop https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_music
For another thing, the lyrics are all about god and soldiers and small towns and trucks and beer
"Ticks", "Online", "Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo" (not beer), "One Piece at a Time", "Dang Me", "Weed with Willie", "I'm Gonna Miss Her", "Celebrity"...
and I'm like "What, plumbers and farmers and factory workers can't like jazz or classical or whatever? Executives, doctors, lawyers, and writers aren't allowed to like country music?"
Many, many, many people in a wide, wide, wide variety of careers, jobs, and fields like more than a single genre of music. Plus, it's what fit in the lyrics - not an all-encompassing list.

Thanks for assigning your values to my dislike, but no, I don't like Patricia Heaton because she's not a good actress. She, like Tim Allen, has just one persona and it's a whiny, shrill, overwhelmed wife and I'm really tired of that cliche. I've tried to watch that show The Middle and the entire cast is like watching a high school drama class do a script reading of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Most of them cannot act at all and have no affect whatsoever. They just speak their lines loudly with no modulation, except the daughter who tries to turn everything into a pathetic pratfall. The whole show just bugs me, but particularly her character (and she was just as bad on Everybody Loves Raymond).

I think she keeps getting work BECAUSE her positions appeal to certain audiences, the same way most of the pseudo-celebrities on my list do.

Celebrities have been in politics for years. Many of them have been elected to office. (Hello Mr. President) They have a right to voice their opinions too. When I don't like it, I turn them off. Simple.

He is very humble and I've always appreciated him sharing his faith and his philanthropy, but being preached about politics was beyond off-putting when all I wanted was to hear them sing.

Their "platform" is performing. If they have a political opinion it should get no more play than yours or mine. When they express an opinion, they have PR people and the media to report it. Their "impact" a lot of the time is ignorant, extreme statements because what we have to deal with is something they don't. Remember, these are multi-millionaires who aren't too concerned about the implications of what they think they're standing up for. Quite a few barely, if, finished high school and a lot couldn't answer simple questions about how the government operates, so I'm not giving their opinions the time of day.

I happen to like Patricia Heaton. She's a successful actress who speaks her faith and has been married for years to the same man and has raised from all I hear 4 successful sons who, unlike a lot of celebrities kids, aren't drug using problem children.

DH can't stand Stephen Colbert. I personally can't stand Al Franken, who was questionably elected, but never would have been if he wasn't on SNL. He's extremely rude. As for "celebrities", I have no use for the Kardashian's and their circle. Talk about no value added.

Like it or not, celebrities have a platform beyond performing. People are interested in their personal lives and that's why they are interviewed for magazines, on television, etc. So if they want to share their personal beliefs, they can. People can either listen or not, care or not.

Why is it upstanding when Patricia Heaton "speaks her faith", yet other celebrities shouldn't speak for what they believe in? She definitely uses her platform to advocate her political beliefs.

One who hasn't appeared on this list: Bill Nye the Science Guy!

He treats everyone who doesn't agree with him with such scorn and derision that he comes off as a giant [butt]. And his views on homeschooling are downright despicable. Look, Bill, I get that some people homeschool for reasons that you or I might not agree with, but there's this thing called the First Amendment that gives them that right. Others homeschool for entirely different reasons. How or why other people raise their children the way they do is none of your business or mine.
