I love credit cards so much!

AA card with citi has an advantage of not having a bonus timer. ie, you can apply for multiple cards and get 60k each every time within a year. You would need to find the language omited from the TC. This card is very churnable.
DH had the CitiBusiness AA as well as the personal CitiAA card. We canceled the business card because it was a pia and the website always gave us issues (like an hour on the phone with IT and they can't fix it problems). He keeps getting offers for the CitiBusiness in the mail, got another today for 65k miles for 4kspend/4months. I assume since he got a targeted offer, he would be approved but he got the CitiBusiness card 2/2017.
DH is 4/24 with one card falling off 10/18. Planned to use a spot for 2 SW cards (if that's even still an option by then) for CP in 2019. We have SW & AA points, but fly out of ORD so could easily use UA or Delta. Would you go for AA card or diversify and try UA?

I've used my AA miles for Alaska flights before. They do a rolling calendar on Alaska but can book one ways without using more miles.
Do you have to call Alaska to book with AA miles? Vancouver wouldn't be until 2019 so I've just been playing around looking. I've also been considering doing AA business class for this trip if I could get SAAver awards but part of me hates to use up that many miles.

We are VERY seriously considering this one- might be worth a look to some here so posting the details. Capital One Spark Cash- 1k back on a 10k purchase within 3 months. With an additional 2% back for the spend- this is 12% CASH if you can make the spend. We usually stay away from cash back cards- better redemption value on points/miles- but we can't ignore this one. They also have the same 10% back for smaller spends if 10k is out of your range.

P.S. There is a rumor that Cap1 is instituting their own version of 5/24 soon- or may have already (DoC post)- but information is conflicting based on what I have read at Frequent Miler. Also note that Cap1 reports their business cards to your PERSONAL credit report, so they will count as 5/24 with Chase. We don't care about Chase anymore- have pretty much written them off for a couple of years- but we got in during the 'hay days' and worked the UR game in 2 player mode for over 2 million URs before 5/24 was implemented so we have made peace with not being able to get more URs from sign up bonuses. Lastly, Cap1 pulls reports from all 3 credit bureaus, so your credit score will take a short term hit as well. If you are a cash back person this is a good one IMHO.
Do you have a link for this Offer? I can find one for $500/4500 spend. Also noted it's a business card.

Arrgh! I keep forgetting to go through Chase when shopping at Walmart. I've spent about $300 in the last week online with them. I even forgot to use my Freedom once :scared1:

We haven’t put any spend on our Freedom this quarter since the closest Walmart is at least 40 minutes away. Sometime before the end of the year, I need to drive over there, buy some Green Dot VCGs and use them for everyday non-bonus spend.

You can do it through AA's site, I think it's under partner booking or something like that. I did end up having to call Alaska to get my seat assignment but it was an easy call. I think the AA miles used were the same number as using Alaska, and Alaska has 12,500 saver awards which I'll be stalking for WDW for next November. You can only book through mid October right now.

I got a targeted offer last week from topcashback.com for 30% back on Walmart and it didn't exclude legos! So, I went crazy and bought all the sets I was planning to buy for my boys' Christmas. Then, I have become quite spoiled (and addicted) to the Walmart grocery pickup. I love not having to grocery shop and just pulling up and they load it in my car...for free!...I'm not sure what I am going to do when the quarter ends and I have to go back to regular grocery stores so I can use my BCP. And I was the one who belly-ached that we got Walmart for the 4thQ :rotfl2:

@kayteekt,

The great thing about using CIP on Plastiq to meet spend or otherwise is that so many (if not all?) categories code for 3x UR. I use it to pay rent, utilities, student loans, preschool tuition for my DD — all code as 3x. (If your card doesn’t work for your payee, people have had luck changing the name of the payee slightly so they’re not blocked.) .

@kayteekt I still feel adding yourself as an AUer on the CIP is fine. However, another option to meet the spend easier would be using plastiq to pay your mortgage (if you have one). Or other bills you may have. We did that with my CIP and I will be doing that with my dh's CIP. @Lain has been able to successfully use his CIP for quite a few different spends and gotten the 3x coding.

Using Plastiq is just a strategy to meet spend correct? I don't think that will be an issue and thankfully a good bit of what will go on the CIP will code at 3x anyway. Ebay fees and shipping costs. On my CIP I ended up with 104k points on first statement, 80k of which was for bonus. I feel like that's pretty good?

My thought on getting the AU cards (not necessarily in our names...but trying to figure out how I needed to do) was so that we could maximize the bonus categories. DH spends a good bit on dining for example and that would be a 2x category on the CSP (3x on CSR, but I don't want to pay for an AU). Another example, I purchase several hundred in postage each month, so I could use his CIP for that, etc...

For me, I've really only used plastiq to meet the min spend. And it's worked very well for that. Our mortgage is our biggest expense so being able to pay it with a cc that I need to meet spend on is awesome and even more awesome if it codes 3x :) @Lain has really gone all out with plastiq and is using their service not just to meet spend but to earn more UR than he normally would. I think I'll try to follow his example also but I've just not done the work necessary to move autopays over and such.

Your CIP earnings are awesome! I wish I had that kind of earnings!!

Just got an upgrade offer for my Amex BC, $150 for $1,000. Was originally planning to apply for the BCP at the higher offer, but didn't want to waste a 5/24 slot. Does anyone know if I can do the upgrade, perhaps PC it back down to a BC down the road, and still apply and qualify for the BCP sign up bonus later? Effectively a workaround to double dipping since Amex bonuses are once per life? Figure an upgrade offer maybe wouldn't trigger the language :rolleyes1

I use Plastiq on normal charges(not just to meet MSR only). I dont have a lot of expenses so plastiq is the only way i can get ton of points from. I currently have a system worked out for me.

As for AU discussion, an AU would work out better imo. Max out your DH's 5/24 and AU him to the CSR. Im guessing DH's CSP is still under a year, but paying $95 for it isnt really worth it. Would work much better if you pay the $75 AU fee.
Might be worth dropping the CSP now to a Freedom and maximize that on other purchases...

I got that offer too! Bought the Nintendo Swtch for my son and saved $80! I haven't tried the grocery pick up yet.

I'm trying to use up my wife's CSR travel credit. With her company covering commute and pretty much everything travel related, she's used all of $6 of her $300 credit that expires next month. I'm finally getting around to using this credit to buy Disneyland park hoppers for our DD for our trip next week through LMTClub, which I understand codes as travel.

However, I can't seem to buy only a Child park hopper; the lowest amount for Adults is default to 1. Does anyone know a way around this, or any other alternative that'll code as travel?

ETA: As an alternative, could I buy an Adult park hopper for my child and redeem it for a park hopper DD could use once at Disneyland?
I noticed that last month when trying to by my son's PH, it wouldn't let me only by a child's ticket. I wonder if you could call and purchase it over the phone. If that doesn't work, maybe try GetAwayToday?

Don't do it unless you want to be tied to Walmart grocery! It will have you hating actually having to grocery shop lol. I actually did this type of thing when pregnant with my last baby, who is now 6yo, and the service was just terrible (Kroger chain) in comparison to the Walmart. As someone who is not a fan of Walmart or their groceries, I've been pleasantly surprised.

Do we know if they code as travel? I am getting ready to buy DLR tickets also so wanting to check all the options.
They are a travel booking site (hotels, cruises, etc) so I would think they would code as travel but I have not used them personally. If you are buying adult and child tickets then lmtclub.com is they way to go. They have better prices and definitely code as travel.

I already hate grocery shopping, lol! Walmart is a bit out of the way for me so I would not typically shop there except for the occasional good deal. I prefer Target so I usually use my AMEX BCP card to buy Target gift cards at the grocery store. Hmm, the not getting out of the car thing IS tempting though, lol!

Do you have a link for this Offer? I can find one for $500/4500 spend. Also noted it's a business card.

Albort hooked you up with the link. Even though it is business- Cap1 reports it to your PERSONAL credit score, so just be aware of this. Even though the $4500.00/$500.00 is a better deal percentage wise, since the terms and conditions state it's a one time bonus (and can't be churned over and over) we are going for the higher spend for the higher cash back. Really depends on your spending habits, whether you MS, etc which one is best. We have been debt free for decades- so we always opt for the higher spend to get more return on investment. I really miss the days of churning for miles, etc... this game used to be crazy fun when there were very few rules to follow. The 'churn and burn' has sadly become a thing of the past for the most part- just glad we were in this game during the 'good ole' days :)
