*** The Official August 2018 Thread*** - let's have some fun....

We book our ADR's on Thursday February 8th (so glad Southwest moved the the opening of their flight schedule to 15th because it was originally 8th and I was worried about booking flights and ADR's on the same morning :faint:). We have decided to add Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. For years I've said we're going to do lunch there but we never have managed to fit it in. I want to try the ooey gooey dessert and the colony salad. Is there an AYCE turkey platter, etc for lunch or only dinner? Can't wait to book ADR's :woohoo:
Yes, I believe the AYCE Patriot's Platter is for lunch and includes turkey. :-) We LOVE LTT!!!!

You won't get Main Street to yourself anymore on the way into a PPO Breakfast at Crystal Palace. Those days are gone.

So I have heard.

We still love it though too. We are considering ‘Ohana for dinner but don’t know if it would be overkill to do breakfast AND dinner there on the same day? We are staying at the Poly so it would be convenient...

I find that the PPO experience is still enjoyable, it just doesn't come with quite the same photo opportunity that it used to. We have never done 'Ohana for breakfast, so I don't know specifically about having breakfast and lunch there on the same day, but we have had a PPO breakfast, and 'Ohana for supper on the same day. We didn't find it to be overkill food wise, but we are hearty eaters lol.

Hi, we will be in WDW from 1st Aug till 22nd, also to celebrate my youngest daughter leaving high school. Luckily as they leave school here at 16 I'll have a couple of years before she flees the nest.

Time flies! Enjoy your trip. And Congratulations!

I'm planning our first trip to Disney World 8/18-8/31. I'm so overwhelmed...

I'm thinking that I'll just take it one step at a time. First step - booking the flights; I'm impatiently waiting for Southwest to release their schedule for the rest of August.

If you will be eating at any Table Service locations during your trip, your window for booking those ADR's opens on the 19th of February, which is less than 2 weeks away, so you might want to consider what parks you will be visiting on what days, and pick what restaurants for what meals so that you will be ready to book those ADR's.

Booked our ADR's for August this morning... :tigger:

BOG breakfast
50's lunch
Crystal Palace breakfast
Chef Mickey's dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch-first time trying it! Really excited to finally book it.
Trails End dinner
Via Napoli dinner
Le Cellier dinner
1900 Park Fare breakfast
Rainforest Cafe lunch -with Landry card
Garden Grill breakfast
'Ohana dinner
and likely ESPN for a couple of dinners to watch ball games and we are staying a few nights at Beach Club, so it's convenient

Only thing we didn't get was BOG dinner (at 180+9 days out) so guessing that they haven't released any yet? I could have gotten a late lunch, but no dinner reservations were available. I will keep checking.

Still looking to book Beaches and Cream but need to wait until Saturday as it is 180+12 days out right now.

I had heard in a couple of places that recently BOG was not booking after July 1st. I'm assuming since you booked breakfast this is no longer the case? We would really like to try for a PPO there for our August trip.

Be our guest is booking for breakfast and lunch and not dinner.

Any word yet on when they might start booking BOG dinners again?

I am starting to put our list of ADRs together and I've been working off of the KennythePirate crowd calendar but there are so many variables such as actual park hours and if/when MNNSHP is happening in August. (am I the only one who thinks it is SUPER strange to start Hallowe'en events in August???)

I may have missed it in this thread since it was really not on my radar but is anyone here planning on doing MNNSHP? Has anyone done one before and how was it?

It seems insane that I have 4 other trips planned before WDW and yet this is the one that takes the most planning!

There are so many parks and so many restaurant choices. Are there any resources you'd recommend to use for restaurant research? I'd be helpful if I knew what types of food they offered, a bit about the atmosphere, and general pricing (I'm booking a trip for 7 and trying desperately to stay under $12,000).

You can check out all the menus here:

I generally wind up using the menu listings right here at the DIS they are an indispensable tool, and that is a good web page to bookmark for future use :)

In case it isn't obvious, the word DIS is a link to the menu page.

Sweet!

Love 50's.

Crystal Palace breakfast is one of our favorite meals.

Liberty Tree Tavern I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Pretty much every trip we eat there twice!

Le Cellier we only did once. The son and I loved it, the wife hated it lol. You can see who won there, since we haven't gone back hahaha.

1900 Park Fare is my daughters favorite breakfast. She loves the Mad Hatter, and he is always super engaging and entertaining there!

'Ohana . . . yum, that is all :)
