Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

How many of that YC king rooms have a day bed in them? I just booked a trip for June and my husband saw that as a choice when they do the description and when I looked on touring plans there are very limited King rooms in the garden category in the first place

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I don't have any information about how many rooms at the YC (or BC) have king beds, but I do know that it is not a high percentage. I don't know if one view category has more than the others. Of the rooms that have them, there could be daybed but I think some of them have a chair and ottoman.

I'm also not sure if the number of king beds increased, decreased or stayed the same with the recent renovation.

You could always add "King bed room with daybed, if possible" to your reservation as a room request.

At YC, no. A very small percentage of BC Lagoon View rooms have daybeds. But YC Lagoon View is listed with a maximum occupancy of 4 and no day bed.

You may be able to request a rollaway bed.

How big is the day bed? The reason I ask is because last time we stayed at the YC we had a tiny extra bed which was supposed to be for our son and he was almost too long for it. Luckily we were able to switch rooms to have two full size beds (one for DH and myself, and one for our son). I'm wondering what type of request I need to make to ensure that we have full size beds, unless this day bed option is a big bed? Does it open? I"m confused, thanks so much!!

I believe this is the daybed that is in the YC rooms post-renovation.

They do pull out to become a bed. not sure of the length.

If you need two large beds, book a double queen room. The daybeds are not huge, about twin bed sized but slightly more narrow. They can comfortably accommodate someone up to about 5'6".

Does Disney ever discount Deluxe rooms or suites at the Beach or Yacht club? We are currently booked in a yacht club std club level room, but after hearing all the talk about how awful the std views are I’m trying to figure out my options. We are a family of six ( four small children) so our options are limited. Thanks!

We always stay at the YC with a king bed and if I can recall correctly we have NEVER had a daybed in one. We had a new room last November and had NO daybed. We did at the boardwalk.

They do discount for BC and YC. It all depends on when you are going. We got a 20% off rate for our trip this May and sometimes we get the 20-30% off rate when we go in November.

I have seen discounts but it has also been FL, Pass or military which is how we are staying this upcoming trip.

We are going in September, so hopefully some discounted rates get released soon. Thanks for the info!

Be back with replies in a minute.

So basically, what you are saying, is you *could* have a fireworks view with any view category at the resort. I agree. We had a fabulous MK fireworks view from a BC SV (Club Level) room on the front side of the resort.

Awesome time of year to have an adults-only trip. My husband and I did that a couple of years ago.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Have a fantastic trip!

Thanks for this info. I wonder if those were special spring break hours or if they will continue for the next several months. Last year it seemed like SAB was closing at 10 pm for most of the year.

Not like at the YC.

Some of the handicapped rooms may have showers only.

:welcome: to this thread and posting on the DIS!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Hooray!

I'll add you to the list.

Sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate your birthday.

BC, YC or BCV.

The request for a full balcony should be your priority, and possibly only, request. If you want to add a secondary request for no rooftop view, I think the best way to phrase that would be "Facing front entrance (parking lot)" as that would be the option for standard view rooms.

Definitely add this to your reservation through the Central Reservations Office. You may call the resort if you wish, within 5-6 days from your check-in date.

::yes::
Thanks for the information. We did try to change our reservation to a different room category but it looks like the resort is booked next week! Are we able to call BC directly? Wondering if we called directly to resort, they would have the ability to change our reservation? Thanks for any thoughts on this. Either way, we’ll be in WDW at BC, so it will be wonderful!

I have a question about the Yacht Club ground floor rooms. We will be traveling with 2 scooters and would prefer to avoid the use of elevators. I know the Beach Club has ground floor rooms I believe garden and lagoon/pool view rooms that are accessible without using an elevator does the Yacht Club also have these rooms and would they be garden and lagoon/pool view room catagory also?
TIA

Good question. I have never heard of this being done. The only way I know to change your reservation prior to your trip is through the Central Reservations Office.

Once you are at the resort, you can talk to the front desk to see what is available for rooms at the time you are checking in. They might be able to give you an idea of the possible views from the room you are assigned to, or others that are not occupied. They may even be able to give you the price to upgrade to another room category if that is what you want.

Yes there are and yes, they are Lagoon or Garden view. These would be the rooms bordering the wedding gazebo and some at the end of the resort near the YC quiet pool.

If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), some of the rooms down at that end of the resort were the ones where they were trying to book guests with dogs.
