Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Some observations from our renovated room in the 70s section.

Obsessed with the new room style! It does not feel like the old school value resorts and I LOVE it. I think, however, that design was slightly higher on the priority scale than functionality.

1 - when the Murphy bed is closed the room is perfection. Lots of space to sit and eat or move around, but when it’s down and you have a stroller and luggage and need a place to put the chairs from the table there is literally no room to move! You have to actually side step to get around.
2 - the room is not conducive to children napping. You could land a 747 with the TV (which is awesome and so nice but very huge & bright,) the door to the bathroom is on some zipper like track and is SO loud, and there is no dim lighting anywhere so you basically have to sit in the dark if your kids are napping or hope they’re deep sleepers.
3 - no freezer - annoyed about that because of not being able to freeze ice packs for our baby’s formula
4 - one whole section of outlets/USBs doesn’t work

Otherwise, really love the changes! The little pantry area is great and I really like the bathroom area layout!

What did you think about the noise level with the laminate flooring and the sliding bathroom door?

I'm not the poster who responded but we stayed 8 nights in January and I can say it didn't bother us one bit. We are also not 'easily' bothered by noise though so I'm not sure if someone in your group is an extremely light sleeper their experience might be different.

What floor were you on? I’m thinking about requesting a top floor.

We were on the 4th floor so nobody was above us. A couple of times we heard our neighbours when they first returned from the park after we'd gone to bed but it was muffled and didn't last long. Didn't cause us any trouble and I've had this happen in the old rooms too.

I was put on the ground floor in the 90s despite requesting top floor for noise... and it was dead quiet. Probably because it was a low traffic area. 3rd floor in the 70s on a previous trip was also quiet.

What # do you call for room requests? Is it the wdisney one or do you call the hotel directly?

Thanks in advance

Does anyone know the sizes of lockers available by the pool? Also, are they free to use or do you pay for them? Do I need to bring my own lock?
Thanks in advance!

We were worried about noise since we were bringing our 7 month old for his first trip and knew he would be napping a lot and going to bed early. Therefore, we requested the top floor (mainly because we watched YouTube videos of people allowing the Murphy bed to slam down when they opened and closed it.) We really did not notice much noise at all! The main noise we heard was in the morning from the housekeeping staff yelling to each other back and forth and unloading carts from the big storage area right by our room. We randomly heard a few loud noises but nothing major and it was probably the quietest resort stay we’ve ever had! Hopefully we weren’t the loud people! Haha

We'll be returning to Pop for one night in June (3 resort split - 1 Pop/4 AKL/9 BC). When I told DD8 last night she said "I wish we were staying longer at Pop, can we stay less nights at BC and more at Pop?" Well I would consider it if I hadn't already had my TA change our reservations around about 15 times!

Hi there! I am going to be staying at Pop starting on April 19th and my question is I wanted to place a grocery order from Safeway and I tried to put Pop Century for line 1 of the address and 1050 Century Drive as line 2, but it will not let me. I just want to confirm how I fill out the form in order to get the groceries to Pop Century.

Thank you

Does Pop still have rollaway beds for $15/night? I have 2 teens that can't share a bed so in the past we'd always pay for the rollaway but now with the renovations it doesn't look like there would be room for a rollaway or even an air mattress.

unfortunately no as there is no longer room for them in the rooms.
