I love credit cards so much!

Cheaper, almost as good quality. I think with Lily it was exclusive to target prints. Everything from bobby pins to flip flops and shorts to patio umbrellas and a hammock.

Hunter is just making it avail at a more reasonable price point for the masses.

Oohh, I see. Well I’m that case the eBay markup doesn’t make sense. At least for the hunter stuff. Exclusive prints for Lilly I can understand.

What are you finding for flights on the UR travel portal? Pay w/ URs there if the price is right.

SPG points you would have to transfer directly to a specific airline (no backsies once it's done) and that could take 4-5 days to reach the airline (20K Starpoints = 25K AA miles). Then you're subject to finding availability for award tickets. I do see some sAAver availability on AA in July right now, depending on the day of the week, 7.5K each way per person. That would take 60K AA miles total for all four of you if you can make the dates work.

If you have enough SPG points for a Marriott travel package that's another option for getting AA miles.

Or opening up an Aviator AAdvantage card which currently has a 50K signup bonus, but you'll have to wait for the miles to post to your account and hope availability still exists by the time the miles post to your account. The plus to this card is then you wouldn't have to pay baggage fees (though the $95 AF is not waived).

Thanks for those thoughts. I'm thinking I'd rather pay the $500 oop for Frontier vs 50k Startpoints (would = 60k AA right?). Just a little nervous about Frontier. We can always drive if we have to (8hrs away). So I guess last minute issue we pack up and head out. I'm newer to this and haven't used points for flights yet. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a good value from a transfer partner or something.

Fwiw, there is no 2 biz card rule with Chase, numerous DPs have disproved that theory.

@magickingdomprincess, agreed with @gottalovepluto that there is no hard and fast rule that Chase will only approve you for 2 biz cards. There are a lot of factors in the decision, like how many Biz cards you have, how many Chase cards you have overall, how much credit has Chase extended you already, how long ago did you open your last Biz card if any, when was the last time you opened another Chase card, and probably how much revenue your business makes relative to the credit already extended.

We say it’s relatively easy to get two Chase cards because when people are going for their first Biz card, especially one under 5/24, they’re likely still relatively new to the game, don’t have too many cards or much credit extended. It’s always advisable to space out Chase applications, but biz applications especially. By the time you get to your second card, presumably you’re still under 5/24 because those are the cards worth getting, but that also means you still have relatively few cards with Chase and not so much credit extended that you can still open a second biz card (or maybe you’re reaching your limit, but Chase will let you open a new card with the minimum limit). By the time you come around for a third card, you may be denied just because you’re tapped out of available credit and not some rule.

The heavy churners go to extra lengths to get two of the same business cards (e.g., two CIPs) by getting an EIN so they can submit one application with just their SSN, then come around later and apply as a “business” with an EIN. This tends to allow for more Chase biz cards of other types under either the SSN or SSN+EIN too.

That's another concern I have, my personal limits seem really large. I've thought about asking to lower them some because I read you can't ask to lower them from your personal to help with biz approval, is that right?

Preemptively lowering credit limits about a month in advance to apply for new cards is a tactic I’m seeing more and more recommended and implemented on /r/churning, especially if you’re applying for a card you don’t really want to have to call to recon (biz cards and double dips).

But yes, you’d want to reduce your personal limits because (1) Chase looks at the big picture of total credit extended to personal and biz lines; but (2) upon recon, won’t let you move personal lines of credit to open a biz card.

No idea what it'll be like at my store but let me know what size color on the kids boots and if they have them I'll get them for you. Not sure what the bum bag is, link it and I'll check. Not going til I finish the run I just started at the gym but you never know what I'll find ☺

Thanks for the kind offer, but it's alright. No one's gonna die here from not getting what we wanted from one of Target's crazy collaborations. Besides, my kid has no clue about Hunter (she's perfectly happy with her Western Chief Hello Kittys); we just thought a few of the pieces looked cute so why not?

Agreed. The point of this collection is it's affordable. If resellers mark up TargetxHunter items to the point where they're as expensive as retail Hunter, why not just buy retail Hunter? There's a lot of Target exclusive styles, but like @afan said earlier, a lot of them really aren't worth swooning over.

I need to fix my DP on my Aviator bonus #2. Yes it still posted about a year from my last one, it just didn’t post until my statement closed (I paid the AF & charge prior to stmt closing).

While an advocate of @SouthFayetteFan ‘s “make a spreadsheet of your rewards points!” I just haven’t gotten around to it myself (guess what I’m doing this weekend?). I was vaguely watching my AA miles on the app, which has been glitching out forever but I’d never bothered to update because updates seem to break my apps more than they fix them. Turns out the app was showing my very old miles balance, I finally updated it a few weeks ago and got all excited because my availabile miles jumped a bonus worth and I thought Barclays posted them through SUPER fast. The app just went from showing my miles as of 6 months ago to the current miles. The bonus didn’t show in activity but they had a disclaimer it can take a couple weeks to appear. Then yesterday I saw on my Aviator stmt my available miles were 50k higher and logged in today to find out I had completely lost track of my AA miles and redemptions and bonuses in my head & the app has done me no favors with its outdated balance.
Upside: 50k “more” AA miles?
Downside: I provided a bad DP and that is absolutely not ok- my sincerest apologies. Yes I got the bonus again in <24 months but it did not post until the statement closed.

All they have left are kids boots but no pink or the awful lace up shoe things. Lots of clothes, beach towels, some bags and umbrellas and I saw someone get a wagon which I guess is a big deal.

Isn't the Maldives going through some serious political turmoil right now? Like the president is playing dictator?
Yep. Tourists haven’t been affected so far but the state department has a level 2 warning out to exercise increased caution pointing out the potential for terrorist attacks on remote islands resultung in a longer response time. Good reminder to all of us to thoroughly vet our travels locations no matter how idyllic the pictures.

You are doing so well with your planning. I have not even begun to think about any of it. Guess I better get on the ball.
Stalking hotel and airline websites. Planned for Hyatt Vancouver last year by getting Hyatt Card. It was recommended by @Ngwira i think. Have AA miles for flight (which they keep changing in current schedules.)

Well, we got most of what we wanted. The Target REDcardholders early bird exclusives from last week never came back into stock so my wife was bummed about not getting the bum bag to hold tickets and snacks when we’re at Disneyland. We weren’t after the men’s or women’s tall boots, but the toddlers tall boots in the popular colors (yellow, red, striped pink) went out of stock in probably less than 5 minutes. I was able to get them for my kid; but when I realized I should’ve probably sized up for next year and went back, they were gone. We also got some ankle boots for us. Boots of all kinds were the first to go, except in the bigger sizes and less desirable colors. The medium sized backpacks too. Luckily I got a pink one for my daughter who loves pink. Clothing and a lot of accessories/ outdoors gear still seemed to be plentily available when I finally called it a night.
I briefly looked and the bum bag was only available in yellow. Umm bright yellow attached to my bum? Hard nope.

I know those of us with CICs pay a bit more attn to office supply deals so FYI a caution regarding OD/OM rebate deals from DoC: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/office-depot-max-bait-switch-rebate-changed-mid-promotion/ (they ran a deal offering a discount + rebate that made people money in the form of an OD/OM gift card at the end but changed the rebate qualifications partway through).

Yeah, I bought paper on 4/11, only to see that post on DoC. I went ahead and filed for a rebate anyway online yesterday, and my submission was accepted so we'll see. Meanwhile, I have more paper than I know what to do with. I guess I can always give it to my kid's school.

I had a crazy idea that I wanted to go to Disney for DD's first birthday in October and wanted to look around, but the Disney site is giving me a "someone ate the page" error. Maybe for the best. Anyone else having problems seeing special offers, etc?

I don't think marimekko received as my hype as Alexander McQueen, Jason Wu, or Lily Pulitzer. Note for anyone thinking of reselling Target's Hunter collection, the return period is just 14-days so you can't easily return items that don't resell.

Probably not, but I was more perplexed that after 2 years they haven't lowered their pricing. Guess they're expecting the scarcity effect now? If I recall the original retail price correctly, their significant markup is about 100% after ebay/PayPal fees. And as much as I liked the item, after 2 years still not willing to pay that!
I did look at the site briefly this morning to see what Hunter was available locally and if I could have convinced myself to fight the masses on a Saturday I may have picked something up for resale. But the local Target that had the collection is a zoo on a normal Saturday so I decided to just check after the hurricane that probably happened this morning. If it's like the rest of the collaborations there will be clearance in a couple weeks to pick through. Sometimes I'm surprised that some of the nicer pieces actually hit clearance. I didn't pay too much attention to the last couple collaborations until I noticed them on clearance. It seems my neck of the woods is not as infatuated with it as other parts of the country. Or everyone is online obsessed and forgets to actually walk into a store.

Try clearing you catche and cookies, specially if you are using Chrome.

Lol from Reddit today

So I had to explain MS to a 60 year old Russian lady today.
Was at a regular meetup and casually mentioned buying gift cards. She asked me why. I just said it's complicated. She whipped out a pen and paper and forced me to explain in great detail. I warned her it's risky and I don't recommend it!
