Buzz Lightyear Star Command - This Attraction Needs To Go

It helps if you just hold the trigger in, rather than pulling it for each shot. It will fire at the same rate either way (about 1 a second), whether you keep "firing" or hold it in.

I have been riding Buzz since it opened, and it never occurred to me to see if it would keep firing if you kept the trigger held in. Thanks!

I like both Buzz and Toy Story Mania. I think Buzz's appeal over Toy Story Mania for me is that it is one continuous game, rather than a series of individual games. I have only ridden Toy Story Mania once, and I really enjoyed it, but I felt like the individual games went by way too fast. At least on Buzz you can get better and adjust your strategy over the course of one ride.

Go trapped on that ride for 45 mins. It was hilarious how people were reciting the lines and signing. We got stuck in the same time period. They finally turned the sound down really low and people still did it. It was a riot!
That happened with us over Christmas. We absolutely loved it.

DD15 and I love Buzz! We ride it multiple times every time we're at MK. I admit, I personally prefer TSMM, but I really like trying to get Galactic Hero. Since I've found out how, the ride is much more enjoyable! ;)

We love the ride, but quite frankly it and Peter Pan are two of the rides that handle the least amount of people per hour (roughly 800/hour each). No wonder these are two of the rides with some of the longest wait times in the Magic Kingdom.

I feel like Buzz must have a higher capacity than Peter Pan. The Omnimover style rides are usually great at cranking through the crowds. I tried to find some information, but all I saw was the 800 per hour number. That same site though has Haunted Mansion putting though 3,200 per hour. They can't be all that different, can they?

We love how corny carousel of progress is! I think they could maybe update the last scene since it looks like it should be the future. Neither dh nor I like buzz and we would much rather do carousel of progress.
I like CoP especially the last scene. I grew up in the 80’s though. So it’s like the 50’s scene for my parents.

My favorite is the first scene. I like seeing what it was like in the past lol. Even if I've seen it over and over.

Lay off my Buzz ride! This ride is a treasure. Carousel of Progress is also a favorite. I actually don't mind Tomorrowland being dated, I always liked Tomorrowland as a snapshot of that early vision of the future, it's charming and a lot of fun. I'd hate to see that lost just for shoehorning more merchandisable IP in the park. I'd love to see Epcot back in the role of showcasing new technology and future things. Future World is a better place for it, even the name is better, Tomorrowland just sounds like... well exactly what it is, that loving snapshot. It's great to see what people expected vs what came instead.

Buzz, Space Mountain and Speedway ALL need an overhaul compared to what we have here at DL. Our Buzz is way more fun with the guns not being stuck to the ride, our Space doesn’t induce brain aneurisms and our Speedway seems much speedier, and longer. I do love Carousel of Progress because we no longer have one, and I am still bitter over removal of our People Mover, but otherwise our Tommorowland seems lightyears ahead of WDW. (Haha, see what I did there? ;-)

before riding either Buzz or TSMM for the 1st time, we rode Buzz and love it. Rode it over and over. The next day or two, we rode TSMM once and its now one of our favorite rides. Now we don't mind if we skip Buzz.

I hold an irrational grudge against Buzz. As a teenager Dreamflight was my favorite ride at WDW. I was sad to see it go, and still blame Buzz for it's demise.

I don't understand why this attraction is still around. In fact, it has been in the building space it's located in for a longer period of time than the three other attractions that preceded it. I get it - it's fun because it's a video game where you can rack up points and compete against other people so it's still widely popular, but the ride is extremely dated for one. I said this as far back as 2003 especially compared to MIB at Universal and it's still around 15 years later with no changes or upgrades whatsoever. It feels like one of those cheap laser tag games from the 90s like they had at Discovery Zone. Half the time the gun doesn't even work and you develop carpal tunnel from using it. Toy Story Mania over at HS is the same exact concept but done WAY better. Why couldn't that ride be a spiritual successor? Even with Toy Story Land coming, it sounds like this ride is here to stay. I think they should at least upgrade it with current technology or make it Wreck It Ralph themed or something. Hell, I'd be down for Disney going full retro and bringing back If You Had Wings.
Well since there's a new Toy Story movie coming out, it's not likely going anywhere. I like it better than Toy Story Mania, it's cute but I don't like the gun....way too much work.

I am a bit of a history buff so I like the early scenes as well. My 7 DD thinks they are so funny. The whole ride is a nice break from the whole day of running around.

We took our 9 yo niece on it. I was thinking “I’m that aunt that tries to push corny things on my niece”. BUT with me singing the entire time she said she loved it.

I like it but I hate the queue and won't wait more than 15 minutes for it. Plus I have to wash my hands after it as it seems so germy with the hand controls :crazy2:
