looks like they have made some changes to the RAT and website

Has anyone tried modifying a reservation to add an 8th day, 9th day, etc. and does it work fine?
Have not attempted it, but have read that in order to add any additional day(s), the entire group of days (8,9,10) must still be available. So, not a likely event.

What if you want to switch a reservation that is longer than 7 days? Can you change only the first 7 and keep a separate reservation for the remaining days?

I was playing around with it a bit this afternoon and no - it's all or nothing. You also can't modify to add a day if all the other days are not still available. Makes it rather limited.

It is supposed to do this but does not right now. Nor can you just drop a day from your reservation if all the remaining days are not available. I had to call to drop the last day of my reservation and she said if it is working right I shouldn’t have to call. So it appears all the kinks haven’t been worked out yet.

It looks like it allows to avoid to open two browsers to switch resorts, but not much more useful than that. It allows everyone to do something savvy people already could do.

continue and then it will start the process.

So for those who only have enough points to hold one reservation -- Am I correct in thinking that this now allows you to hold a new reservation while the system will release the original reservation then move on to book the new one? (without the fear of being homeless). I am guessing this is the situation that the 2 browser method provided.

Just trying to get an idea of how this will benefit me (and probably many people) who didn't dare try the 2 browser method.

Does the new system allow you to change just a few days of your trip - so say i wanted to only change days 1-3 of a 7 day trip to another resort?

All I get when I try to go to the RAT are the pages flashing back and forth. Is anyone else still having problems with this? I am using a Mac. Frustrating.

I have never had that problem and use a Mac at home. I am so sorry you are having these issues. :flower3: I definitely liked the old set up better.

I did and it worked perfectly. I’m new to DVC and this is only our second trip, and the first time I attempted booking plans online so little previous experience.

You just Modify, I had the 21-28 booked, then added on following mornings by reselecting the date range 21-29, then 21-30. It does not require any additional steps, if the additional day is available it will proceed with adding it to your booking. Very easy.

Thanks for sharing this. When you did it, were all of the dates available (e.g., 21-29) or were there holes in those dates? My experience so far with modifying is that all of the dates need to be available, including the ones you already hold in your reservation...

The one thing I wonder about is that I had to retype DH name, contact and address details each time I modified and I wonder if I was missing a link to pull forward that detail. It may have been there and I overlooked it.

I went in early and yes the date needs to be available but you are not going in and out to see it and existing bookings don’t go through the old cancel/quick rebooking panic that I understand was a risk of the old system. This really just adds to what you have secured and see online if one (or more) is available.

The fact is we want 12 nights at OKW. I have the 18th secure, I’m missing the 19 & 20th, and have the 21-29 secured. I have SSR as backup and waitlist for the OKW 19-20. I spoke to member services yesterday thinking the waitlist should be 18-20 but she thought I should leave things as is for the moment saying they can link the separate bookings latter if (when :) ) the waitlist comes through. It almost sounds like I know what I’m talking about... I really don’t... :duck:

Greg36, trying to better answer, the new modify system recognizes your existing dates already as available to you. I’m assuming others will not see your room in that view as you have it secured. It might take two dvc members with separate bookings checking side by side to confirm that...

Yes, I asked member services about it and it is a bug and they are working on it.

That is the way it is supposed to work, but isn't quite there yet according to member services as of Saturday afternoon.

LOL, So the go news here is one less screen in the process and no one is likely to be put out of work, we still need Member services to link and clean up our bookings. o_O

Thanks! I called MS today, and they are going to look into why there are some issues with Safari on Macs. I liked the old set up better, too!

I should have clarified that while I use a Mac at home, years ago I starting using Chrome as my browser because even at that time, I was having trouble with Safari and the DVC website. If you can, I would change over to Chrome. I haven't had as much trouble since then.

You would want to just waitlist the nights of the 19th and 20th. You already have the 18th so no need to include it. If the waitlist matches they either will combine it all into one reservation when they finalize it or if not then you can call in and ask for it to be combined into one reservation. You do not want them to link, you want them to combine.

As I think someone else mentioned, what you describe is how it should work but it is not. If the dates are not still available to book as if you were starting from scratch then you're out of luck to add days online. I tested it a couple of times and it won't recognize nights that you already have if you go to modify.

Am I losing my mind or is Poly completely missing from this new online reservation tool? I'm SO confused! It's one of our home resorts and I can't see it as of 10:00PM PST on 6/25. Somebody please tell me I'm not crazy! (well, not other than my Disney addiction) :confused3
