Post 15: Be Our Guest List

:goodvibes
Hi Dee- Please add my family of five (DD 11 DS 9 DD 7 and the hubs) to the guests list. We will be first time YC guests this 12-16 to 12-21 and are very excited!!
Say, does anybody know if the only deep areas are in the lazy river? My little one will be disappointed because she loves walking those type pools, (she says she's "running track" LOL) but maybe the other areas will interest her. I tried looking at the maps and aerial pictures and even after going through tons of old threads and this one, I might have missed the specifics on the depth of the other "water areas". I only caught that Lazy River was really deep. Thanks in advance!

My parents just booked a garden view room June 8-15. My Sister In Law booked a standard view June 15-22.
Has anyone been able to book a room at Yacht Club for June 2019? Both we and a travel agent weren't able to find availability.

Dee, could you add us to the Be Our Guest list for June 14-23, 2019 at beach club?

Thanks!

I booked Garden room at Yacht Club about a week ago for May 6-10 2019. I asked about water/pool he said none were available, but I will keep checking back on occasion.

I have been trying for what feels like forever for a water view at the yacht club. Even when prices were released in 2018 and 2019 that room category is never available. I emailed guest relations at disney and they did call me back and I was told they do save that room category for conventions. So in case anyone else is interested in the lack of availability of that room category that is why. It's somewhat frustrating that it is not open to everyone. I was also told that many of the garden views have excellent views as well it's not something I would want to chance.

Hi group!

I would like to book a room at the Beach Club before our April 2019 cruise... Thinking of maybe booking a Club Level room if they are not too expensive. Does anybody have an idea how much more this would cost? There are none available right now but I think that if I keep checking every day, I might get lucky. (Can't call, though. Too expensive!)

I'm expecting a 20 or 25% off special offer at some point. I don't know if I'll book soon and then have them apply the promotion or if I'll wait until they go on sale... :scratchin Do you guys have any idea if it's going to happen before October?

Thanks in advance!

I have a garden view room book for YC. I've never bothered requesting anything specific, but the online check-in lets you do that and I figured why not. I clicked upper floor & water view (kind of surprised it made that an option). Would those be good things to request? All I really care about is getting a full balcony & I know most YC rooms already have that (and it's not an option on the website). Thanks for any help!

That is REALLY frustrating. We had a water view in 2011 and loved it, we are headed back to Yacht Club in 2020 and was hoping to book one, but looking at next year's availability seems as if it will not happen. The same with Beach Club I think.

I think those are good requests, I always request upper floor because I prefer balconies to patios, although I will take a patio if that is what I am assigned, I am not really picky regarding room location. If you have anyone in your party with mobility issues then it may be worth it to request 'close to lobby' as some of the rooms are a bit of a walk, although if no one has mobility issues then you can use the stairs that take you outside instead of walking all the way back and through the lobby, you just give up glorious AC that way but it is definitely faster especially if you are going to or from the boat doc or the swan/dolphin area.

I agree, I am really not happy about not even having the opportunity to book a water view at the yacht club. You should be able to book a water at the beach club, I have had no issue with that at all. I just prefer the yacht club side. I think the water views are truly better from the yacht club. You are guaranteed a full balcony and you are also the first stop at the bus at the yacht club.

I agree - we want to stay at Yacht Club. Will have to book garden view and then hope for water views to open up closer to trip time. It's silly to give those views to convention goers rather than customers who are just booking trips and willing to pay for water view!

The lazy river is the only section of SAB that is really deep. I believe that other areas run 4 to 5 feet deep, except for the shallow, sandy kids pool. My sister and I walked around the section of the pool closest to the waterfall and it was definitely deep enough to get a good workout while walking through the water. :) You can also get an excellent workout by swimming against the current in the lazy river.

I think that they won't release the April discounts before October. A lot depends on when Easter is and what date you are trying to book. They will apply the discount if there is a room available at the time, so if you really want to lock that room up, I would book as soon as you can. :)

If you decide to opt out of mousekeeping do you know if the hotel compensates you in any way? I know some resorts give out a gift card...

No. They will compensate by calling you once in a while to ask if you need something and/or fresh towels.

This was going to be our first time having a grocery delivery and I was so excited to plan this as way to save money on breakfast, water and snacks. My Safeway shopping cart was already filled for our July 17th trip :(
Looking at placing an order with Publix. Has anyone tried them before? I could do Amazon since we are prime members, but they do not carry all of the items we wanted.

We go in august and was going to try Safeway. We have used GG twice but they are more expensive. I just read that Wal-Mart does delivery now. I was going to look I to that. There are 4 families and we usually order together. I dont know what is the easiest.

Yes, that sounds good. I only requested gazebo view and our request was granted. We had a lovely view which included the gazebo and seeing Crescent Lake.

BC CL does not close between 4 and 5. There is a rope they put up where they do food set up they lock the two doors by the concierge desk. However the 3rd door by the room hallway is open and you can go in that way.

We used it early AM, during day and late night without problem this past week out of service hours for soda, ice cream, coffee etc

Ice cream? Thats new isn't it? My son will love it if its still available during our trip in a few weeks. I myself wish I could get a bloody mary one morning. I wonder if any of the restaurants in the BC/YC would deliver. ;)

Hi all! So we will be checking into the BC in two months!!
I am about to call in my room requests but I’m unsure exactly how to ask for what I’m wanting.
We booked a water/pool view.
I am wanting a room in between Epcot and SAB. Would using that verbage be clear enough or should I ask for a room near the volley ball court to make it simpler? (We would prefer to not have a pool view.)
I’m also wanting to ask for a full balcony. Would it be okay to ask for those two things or is that too much?

Just about all of the resort rooms at the BC are in between SAB and Epcot, so that description will not be helpful. :) I would stick with a request near volleyball court and a full balcony.
