Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Does anyone use Touring Plans for room requests or do you go through DSS or both?. I have any of 4 rooms that I would like to request but not sure which is the best route to go. If you use touring plans how are in advance do you do it? I check into RPC the 28th.

I just used the DSS email on this trip. I requested a 3rd or 1st floor room at Poly and got it (3rd floor). My room ready text came before 9am. I requested one of three specific room numbers at GF RPC and got one of those three rooms. Our room ready text arrived around 1:30pm.

We had never been to Cali Grill before.

With all your posts, that surprises me a bit.

IMO, Cali Grill's quality/value has ebbed and flowed over the years.

Years ago, they had a nice seating area where guests could go to enjoy a light offering, then they kind of did away with that and you pretty much had to have an ADR to go up there, especially as the 'greeter' CM's on the 2nd floor had a bit of a prickly, unwelcoming attitude. (I've seen many folks turned away!) This was especially true in the years where they wanted everyone to be on the DDP, and they took away all the comfy chairs to add more tables.

The quality of the table service and menu offerings have also been a bit uneven over the years, IMO. Some visits have been outstanding, and some were just okay.

The desserts have often been one of the highlights!

Alas though, if you are staying CL at CR, then you may well see some overlap in the CR restaurant offerings!

(Also, one trip we paired GF CL and 1900PF, and the desserts were identical except for the soft serve!)

As for BWI, this image may be handy. The CL rooms are all of the rooms “past” the Innkeepers Door as well as around a little less than half of the rooms between the door and the elevators. We had that room shaded red, for reference.

Oh, y'all will enjoy this. Got home yesterday to find a lovely postcard from DSS welcoming me for our stay and offering to provide any services we might need such as booking tours, etc.
Granted, we got home on Sunday LOL

I've never studied the types of tea in it but at BWI they have a big box of all types of tea. I know some are decaf but the decaf may all be herbal, not just regular decaf black tea

You would be correct!
They did tell me they "usually" carried it. It was downstairs in the Marketplace, and so I just bought a bunch and left them in my room.
PS Herbal tea is definitely not "my jam"! Lol

I wish I knew about this YC secret last yr. As I've said a million times, I hated my BC stay. We originally had YC CL booked. Dh and the kids thought it was too serious looking
has anyone went to any of the Star Wars events they have? We're skipping disney this year. Planning on next August, most likely poly club. This past may. HS had a one night SW event over Memorial day. Debating going with just my kids (huge SW fans) this coming may. Dh always takes a golf week right after memorial day and thought this may be nice for me and the kids. However I work in a school and can't take off. How crazy would it be too fly friday night- Monday night. Then have work/school all week? We would be flying from Newark. Is the SW night worth it? Maybe then I could give YC CL a try. DH refuses to stay epcot area again.

I have historically only done them through DSS via e-mail.

I have a loose understanding of the TP room request feature but have never personally used it.

We've used it every time, except our March stay, and have had wonderful success! We have been somewhat"loose", not specific room numbers, but they it has worked every single time!

There is also a live singer performing at the piano. Is this new? Or maybe I have just never been in the main building at this time of day. I didn’t hear her singing yesterday.

My mother stayed at YC this past year and she loved it. Preferred it over Poly and CR Tower and Atrium. Food was abundant with a lot of beef, salmon and pulled pork iirc.

We saw her one day during our stay and she was pretty...loud...

Right...? Her voice was nice, I guess, but kind of shrill. Not really a good fit for the space. A jazz singer might have worked better.

I’m on DME so I guess I’ll post some pictures from tonight’s evening menu at RPC. I was the weirdo taking pictures of everything.



The hot apps were chicken sausage and peppers, Greek meatballs and chicken nuggets over on the “kid” side. (Let’s be real, more than half the people there had a plate full of them.) A chef was there making absolutely delicious s’mores creme brûlée (first pic)!

I saw them replenish dishes several times. No running out of anything here that I noticed!

Our beautiful room in the Grand Floridian main building. Room 4421. The first picture shows our room from the outside of the building.

It is a deluxe king room. It’s one of the turret rooms with a ton of windows and amazing views. Hard to tell in some of the pictures, but in the distance we could see the castle, the Contempory, the Wilderness Lodge, the Poly, Spaceship Earth, the GF pools, the monorail — all from the same room. Plus, it’s on the 4th floor just down the hall from the RPC lounge. So perfect in every way.
