Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Water Parks question: last time we were at WDW, the AK bus used to also go to BB and the DTD bus also went to TL. Is this still the case?

Not exactly. You take the animal kingdom bus to AK and transfer to a bus to B.B. you take a Disney Springs bus to DS and transfer to a bus to TL. The busses don’t stop at both places. We ended up taking a Lyft to big water parks. It was around $7.70 to TL and $6.50 to B.B. Plus tips. Worth it. We took busses back to resort after spending a few hours at the water parks.

Thank you! If we end up going we will definitely use a ride service both ways then.

Got back on Tuesday from a quick 5-night birthday trip for my son.

Overall, still love Pop. The housekeeping was ABYSMAL though. I talked with two people at the resort and nothing got done about it. housekeeping is one thing we depend on - I spend all my time at home cleaning, making beds, etc. For 5 nights, I wanted someone to take care of me. It was a big bummer. I will be emailing that GM email here shortly (saw the letter in my room, didn't read thoroughly - thought it was about the gondola!).

We requested 70's, got 70's. Great room, quick to busses. 2 queens, no tub. 6272.

James, Gordo, and Fallon at Petals - as always, top notch. The summer drinks - blueberry lemonade and whiskey strawberry thing were fantastic.

Love the new rooms, too...the barndoors are my favorite. Takes up so much less room!

Sorry for the bad luck with housekeeping. It seems like somewhere I’ve read a suggestion to call when you leave in the morning so housekeeping knows they can come to your room. Has anyone tried this? Is it an effective way to ensure your room gets cleaned while you’re out? We will be ripe dropping and coming back for an afternoon break and would want housekeeping in the morning.

Well our perfection this trip took a stumble. They told me to check back at the desk today to make sure we have the same room all trip (2 back to back stays). Well we don’t. The lady said I should have told someone and I pointed out every single person I talked to told me they linked the reservations. I almost cried. Well the 15’s are checking in that day and they are going to be in the lake side part of 60’s. Even if I wanted to be their neighbor (and I don’t) I couldn’t stay there. She told me we will be in building 3. First floor. I quickly started packing this morning before Epcot early entry. We will leave around dinner to finish up. They will move our stuff tomorrow. I’m over being sad and ok with it now. They gave me a front office business card that is supposedly an actual pop phone number. If you want me to post I will but I dont want people to abuse it. As a side note - the groups of 15’s that we have seen both at resort and in the parks are much smaller numbers and very polite and quiet. They have not bothered us at all. Not the massive herds of the past. Of course their full numbers aren’t quite here yet.
Uh oh! I hate to hear this.
I have the same thing coming up in two weeks. 2 back to back stays at Pop. I was going to call next week and have them linked. So that may not work?

I haven't stayed at Pop in a few years, but we will be there in October. For all of our resort stays, I call Housekeeping and request early service since we are always gone before 8:00 a.m and like to come back mid-day for a break. They tell me they note it for our entire stay and I don't need to call each day. It has been about 90% effective. There are occasional days when our room hasn't been serviced before we return, but typically it's done. A couple of the housekeepers have told me that they like knowing who will be gone early since they can take care of those rooms without fear of interrupting guests. Of course, their top priority is readying rooms for guests checking in that day, but I find it helpful and have found success by calling.

I never rely on a linked reservation alone. If I have a continuing reservation I always check in at the front desk instead of doing online check in and let them know at that time that I prefer not to move and so far they have worked with me and found a room where I did not need to move. It’s never guaranteed, but I wouldn’t rely just on the linked reservation if it was that important to you. For me it comes down to losing a day of touring because there are some things I would want to move from one room to another myself, rather than trust they would get moved. I hope it works out for you!

When are you trying to go? Just curious.
November, we were pretty flexible in our days, anywhere from the 8th-17th, but only wanted 3 nights. No matter how I played with it, no Pop, or my second choice of Movies. I'm gonna hold out for AP discounts to be released and see. Then we will probably decide if we wanna keep the reservation I booked at Music, or just cancel and wait for our trip in March.

Can you only do three nights? I just did a random search at pop for nov 8-13 and there were rooms open. You could also try calling

I think they try. I still don’t know why it didn’t work (why we weren’t put into a room we could have stayed in the whole trip ). My requests were so perfectly met with the first room that we were really bummed to have to move - not to mention how much stuff we had for a 15 night trip. I was so worried about baggage or luggage assistance being able to move our stuff from 1 Room to another because honestly they were a mess with their luggage storage room being renovated. Seriously they were a mess. But they did it perfectly. Our new room wasn’t quite as perfect as our old location but it was just fine. Plus I didn’t want to be in the middle of a tot group even if that would have been possible and it wasn’t. We ended up being happy with both places. I really think most people get to keep the same room. Just a bit of bad luck for us. I knew it was a possibility but honestly thought it wouldn’t happen. Supposedly my stays were linked. So don’t count on keeping same room but I think odds are in your favor.

Sadly I did that and still had to move. I told literally every person I talked to that I had the back to back stays so this isn’t a guarantee. I think the tour groups out a kink in my luck. We adapted even though it was really inconvenient. I just wish the woman would have apologized. I don’t think she was happy when I (embarrassingly) started crying when she told me we had to move.

I've read so much and haven't found the answer to this question: When you opt out of Mousekeeping and you receive an emailed gift card, how do you redeem it? Show the email?
