Official 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend

i didn't have an option for the kessel run when i signed up. Is it because I'm Canadian or is it sold out?

I wouldn't think residence would matter. Did you click on Kessel Run on the registration information page first? It's still available from what I can see.

After you click on "Register Today!" there is a link specifically to register for kessel run. If you don't click that link, it takes you to the page to register for the other race options.

Just got of the phone with run Disney. I guess there was a different way to do it than i did. They are sending me a link to fix it. They said I'm not alone in screwing it up

Signed up both kids for the 10K. Wife is signed up for Kessel Run Challenge.

However, something went wrong when I signed up. I was sure I selected Kessel Run Rivals Run Challenge and not the Kessel Run Half Marathon. I only realized after the fact that I was signed up for the wrong thing.

I figured I could go back in and just sign up for the Kessel Run Rivals Run Challenge and get rD to clean it all up for me later. I was able to get all the way through the Pay button where it processed and then told me I was already registered. Guess that made sense as they want to prevent people from putting in multiple registrations for the same race.

I immediately called rD and was on the phone with someone in less than a minute. She was very helpful. Looked up my registration, took my info down on what I wanted and said someone would be in touch with me in a few days to switch me over. I told her I was concerned that if it sold out, I would not get what I wanted. She said that since I was now on the internal list, it would not be a problem.

Just now I decided to check my credit card info online. I not only have a pending charge for one Kessel Rivals Run Half, but two pending charges for the Kessel Rivals Run Challenge. So while the system would not let me complete registration because I was already registrered, it sure charged my card in error. I'll take a look tomorrow to see if the pending ones reverse, but I have already sent this info to rD to get cleaned up.

Congrats to all who are now registered! (and a poke at @rteetz to say "DO IT!!) Sounds like, overall, it was a bit smoother than Marathon or Princess weekend registrations. It'll be interesting to see which, if any, of the SW races sell out...
The DIS just announced they are renting out Pandora in August so my money might go there instead...

Newbie question here - will the 'commemorative items' that we could have added to our cart during registration be available to purchase at the expo? I definitely want something to commemorate the event, but I hesitate to purchase stuff I can't see so I didn't want to buy anything today. But I also don't want to miss out... Advice??

It all depends. Some items will only be available via preorder. For 2017 Light Side, I passed on preordering the shoe ornament because it was a blind buy. When I learned it was Yoda, I was disappointed to have missed out. When the Dark Side shoe ornament was Darth Vader and since I was doing the Kessel Run, I bought the Yoda shoe ornament on ebay for double the preorder price and the Vader shoe ornament at the Expo on day one. This year there were plenty of shoe ornaments for both the virtual run and the Dark Side race at the Expo the afternoon of day one.

In 2017, I purchased a Dark Side race jacket at the Expo. I arrived at the Expo shortly after it opened on the first day. In 2018, I did not see a single Dark Side race jacket for purchase at the Expo and arrived in the late afternoon of the first day. I do not know if they had any jackets available at the Expo or not. There were still plenty of shirts, hats, figures, ornaments, pins, etc. but no race weekend specific jackets.

If you think you might want something, preorder it and then return it at the Expo if you don't like it. Plus, the later you get to the Expo, the more likely supplies will be limited. In some cases, popular race merchandise sells out on day one of the expo.

Does anyone know why they ask if you are a Passholder? We are not passholders (yet), but are seriously considering getting APs. Would there be any extra goodies if you are AP? There are no AP discounts, right?

Probably just for statistics (or so they don’t have to recode when it goes to general registration) AP Discount on race merchandise purchased at expo (not preordered)

Register for Challenge. Done.

Register for Kessel Run. Done.

Book hotel (Pop Century)for race weekend. Done.

Get Busy. To be continued...

Sorry, more questions:

1. Are there any onsite hotels that we should avoid because the road closings make it more likely to confuse bus drivers or make it longer to get to race start? (I would imagine this is more of an issue for the 10K and Half Marathon since they go from MK to EP).

2. Do the buses share between resorts to get to races? For example, WL usually shares with Contemporary, would that be the case in the early morning for races?

Going to race no going back after I’ve stayed at AS Movies and the bus stopped at Sports and Music first

Does anyone know if signing up for the Kessel Run is different if you signed up with a TA? We have purchased everything thru the TA excerpt for my DH’s Kessel Run/Virtual marathon. It keeps charging him for the half/rival run.
I'm wondering about this too. I don't have my registration links yet, but I only had the choice for the Rival Run Challenge. I'm hoping I'll be able to add Kessel.

1. I don't think there would be any problems with getting to/from the race, but I still have nightmares of being stuck on a bus trying to get from WL to Studios with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old on Marathon day way back when. (This was 2003, when they did the half and full on the same day.) Traffic was an utter disaster.

I'm not sure if it's any better now - last time we were there on marathon weekend, we made sure we were going to parks we could get to without buses. (Beach Club to Epcot and Studios.)

2. There's some sharing. I know that Yacht and Beach Club shared buses; I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to remember if Boardwalk was on the same circuit.
