New York or Orlando?? Heck, let`s do both.....12 nights NYC & Sapphire Falls...July 18 Trip Report

Hello! I was very excited to see you had another trip report on the go when I popped back onto the Dis for the first time in ages. Your trip looks amazing (as always) and isn’t the Maserati just the icing on the cake?! look forward to reading more and looking even more forward to the next one starting!

:welcome: back Zosha……….

Lovely to see you back posting again.....:-)

Thank you so much.....we did have an amazing trip and yes, the Maserati was fabulous!!!!

I hope you enjoy it, well, not much to go now, but new one won`t be too far away...…..will look forward to seeing you then too......:wave2:

Standing outside Louie`s we turn and see the crowds haven't started to build yet......and we do wonder if they are all going to be in Potter this morning.....but, it is lovely to just be in this little area......although I don't think there is in area in either park we don't love......well, except maybe bathrooms...….but those are pretty darn essential...….and at universal we have always been lucky enough to never find a bathroom that is a mess or unclean...…..

i-FZBXhxN-XL.jpg

I sometimes look at rides and think I`ve been on that!!!! And considering I don't like heights and used to hate drops, it`s not a bad achievement......one of our friends makes fun of her husband as he is a real ride chicken...….but, I can understand why some people just don't do larger or perceived scary rides....the thought of them is usually worse than the actual reality of them, but it`s a genuine fear and I always tell her not to make fun of him...….especially as she is terrified of something as ridiculous as mushrooms!!!! Don`t ask...……

i-CZVVm3P-XL.jpg

We again, love how much detail is around the parks......and we genuinely do take our time and wander around the parks slowly, especially in this heat I have to say......I don't think we could rush if we had to!! Again the temperature is amazing for so early in the morning......but, we were loving this heat...…..it may feel a little overwhelming at times, but during our miserable and cold winters we would yearn for this type of heat...…..so we tried to make the most of it.

i-TmTqbpw-XL.jpg

Tom went into the bathroom and I was snapping away when the Hogwarts Express passed again...….some folks don't know you can see it as it trundles back and forwards between the parks, it does move fairly slow but blink and you miss it as it passes here...……a lady asked me if it would be long till it was back, I told her no, not really...…..she had just missed it this time. I am still quite surprised they haven't blocked this view off, of course I`m glad they haven't...…..as it is quite cool to see it going back and forward...………

i-PQZTpbB-XL.jpg

I was glad they kept this little fountain outside what was Beetlejuice. It doesn't really fit here, but I was glad they kept it all the same...…..any money collected here goes to Give Kids the World charity which is a phenomenal charity...…..we always try to drop as much as we can in every time we pass.

We give F&F a miss as it is, for us truly dire...…..even the added bonus of seeing some nice cars isn't enough to make us go through that again.....and we love cars...….the line is alright, but not as good as it could have been. But the actual ride is a massive fail as far as we are concerned. And that is quite sad to say as we love Universal but they got it wrong with this...…... We will however be back on it in December as Kyle will want to see and experience the ride...…..I may go and have an ice cream or something while they do it then.

I would however, tell anyone to give it a try...….some folks do like it and one little boy we saw declared it "Awesome" when he came off it...….bless him...….he was very young!!

i-zmcBLgZ-XL.jpg

Looking over the lagoon we can see the train from Back to the future...…..and of course the new viewing area for the night time Cinematic show...….we looked forward to seeing this again in either September or maybe December. It won`t run on HHN so we may wait as we do other things on nights horror nights aren't on. But, it is very good.

i-twdHgRL-XL.jpg

i-xccSqNs-XL.jpg

The San Francisco area is very pretty......of course it used to lead to Amity and the old Jaws ride...….and I was always glad we got to experience the ride before it was demolished to make room for Potter......it really did feel like a seaside town and had a slight carnival feel.....and Nathan`s Hot Dogs!!!! I don't really like hot dogs but those were lovely!! It`s hard to believe how long it has actually been gone looking back...…..

Lombards is one of those unusual restaurants in a theme park...….when you go in it is very classic in design, very traditional and doesn't feel like it should be in a theme park at all...…..food for us is usually good. Only once or twice has it not been excellent, but still good. The menu has something for most people unless you are exceptionally picky...…..it does have seafood, but you can get burgers and chicken items too.

And so pretty outside too...……

i-dvKmqMD-XL.jpg

Chez Alcatraz is almost like a secret little bar......I`ve mentioned it to a few people and they have to think where it is...….it serves beers and cocktails too and they are very good!!! We like a bar that gives a good pour!!! And it has the added bonus of being close to Bruce for the perfect photo opportunity...….although we did try a selfie with Bruce today...…...er, no......wasn't a good look at all!!!! We had never eaten here, although it is snack type food like bucket of chips, shrimp cocktail with either bay or Cajun flavors and a couple of flatbreads......not fancy but although we have only had cocktails here, the snack items do look tempting...…...and they have cool staff too!!!

i-hT73L7x-XL.jpg

i-ZsNFmDX-XL.jpg

i-S53xGx5-XL.jpg

i-J7MvsXP-XL.jpg

It`s a lovely area to spend some time and soak up the sunshine today...…..no real crowds to speak of and we spoke to several people here today......all from different areas of the country and one was from Iceland...…..I always think of Iceland as just being cold...…..but, it is one of the few places I haven't been, well I think it`s the only European country we haven't visited...….maybe one day as we`d like to see the midnight sun one day. But, we always find we speak to people from all over and each and every one is usually very friendly and happy to chat...…..we love that!! I`ve been accused of being a yapper...…..well, I have been called worse I suppose, but I will happily yap to nice people all day.

Then on to Potter...…….this has to be the best designed and themed area anywhere in the world. If you have read the books or seen the films you can really pick up on the extra minute details everywhere......if you haven't seen the movies it is still a spectacularly themed area of the parks...….I truly have never seen anything that has surpassed what Universal and Rowling came up with here...…..and I`m not a huge Potter fan...….we do like them and watch them regularly, but when you see how obsessed some fans are, and so knowledgeable in areas most of us don't even consider. One woman told me all about Molly Weasley`s family history one day......well, she tried.

i-gpfchnJ-XL.jpg

It is so impressive......both the outside area of King`s Cross and when you enter Diagon Alley...…...outside isn't exactly identical to the real Kings Cross......it is much prettier and a darn site sunnier and warmer than the real one too!! But, like most days we do enjoy the blast, and I mean blast of cold air exuding out of the fake exterior...…...we do spend a few moments enjoying that cool blast while listening to the musician. I think it was a male guitarist today, the previous day it had been a young girl playing the violin...….they are always good though.

i-fpzjzGS-XL.jpg

i-kWrx3h9-XL.jpg

I love old buildings and even fake old buildings...…….and doors might be the dullest things on earth to picture, but I kinda liked them...….the more ornate and traditional the better I liked them...……but of course not the most interesting of topics!!

i-ws5PgGn-XL.jpg

Walking through the bricks, I have said many times, is an amazing experience...…..hearing the same noise the bricks make in the film as you enter is so funny and you can picture Hagrid tapping the wall to release it`s secrets beyond the wall...……..Diagon Alley...……

i-Qc7JZFV-XL.jpg

i-6ZD2mXZ-XL.jpg

We still get so impressed with this place...…..and take pictures galore...….and pick up a few things I haven't seen before...…...not quite sure how we could have missed anything over the last 4 years and many visits...…..but we had.

i-ZD27pLk-XL.jpg

i-NDkDjx7-XL.jpg

I loved the dragon. Whether it is breathing fire or not...….it looks incredibly impressive and fits well with the theme of Potter of course...…..as it should do.....

i-65v956H-XL.jpg

I swear I had never noticed this wellington boot hanging in front of the window...……...neither had Tom. It`s funny how something can be right in front of your face and you don't see it...……and there really is a huge amount to notice and admire. The detail is incredible......and so much of it...….no one can fail to be impressed by this place...……

i-hgMDVv7-XL.jpg

i-jL7MgtP-XL.jpg

The line for Gringotts was something I didn't notice, but we asked the TM how short the EP line was and she said I`d go in if I were you...….so we took her at her word and went straight in as I had already braved the lockers...…...I jest. the lockers aren't bad at all, and once you make your way through the crowds that flock together it`s fine......it really doesn't lose any time out of your day.

Tom had managed to fit the camera in his pocket, but we didn't take many pictures today...….we have so many and as the line was short we wanted to just get on the ride...…….

i-TZkrLHQ-XL.jpg

i-t6fwgjZ-XL.jpg

We love this ride...…..if I had to choose, I`d say Forbidden Journey is a better overall ride...….but this is still good......it could have had a better drop though as that was one thing we were disappointed in......but it was still a fabulous ride...…..part coaster part screen. But, people decry the use of screens at Universal but, there are rides that are still impressive.....and this is one of them. It is a lot of fun and the line is one even if you have EP you should walk through if lines aren't too long......you see a lot!!!

More Diagon Alley coming up...………...

I loved your last update! Last days are always sad days for us :-( ewww Tgat steak at NBC grill sounds lije a nightmare. If it's not right the first time, are usually realize that person just can't make a rare steak! I tend to like mine still mooing..,

I normally call my "orlando" a guide dog or my service dog. (Yes his name is Orlando, and no I didn't name him that! He came already named :-) how appropriate) For clarity if I'm speaking to someone who doesn't know my disability I call him a seeing eye dog. Words don't matter but what he does is amazing :-) I really wish he could be a singing Eye dog! If my dog could sing that would be absolutely amazing. Then he could tell me how he was feeling all the time in song...what could be better. As a disabled person using a dog I always feel it's my job to educate. I would much prefer people ask questions and understand disabilities rather than being not understanding causing fear. Especially with my young guy Luke! I think it comes a point when you've just accepted who you are and you're willing to laugh about it make fun of yourself and as long as people aren't doing it in a mean way, I don't really care what people say! We're not very easily offended in our house.

We sure are getting excited for our trip and horror nights. My son, being the teenager he is, is most excited about stranger things. I think I'm excited about scary tales! But I definitely want to see Halloween 4 and Mr. Mike Myers. In the past my favorite was probably when they did The Freddy Krueger versus house in Halloween 25! That was our first year and I can vividly remember following my son Noah and having him get scared and taking off like a shot and leaving me alone in the middle of the house! Talk about being frightening. Luckily my husband was behind me and he was able to shuffle me out. We never let Noah live that one down! In my mind it's pretty hard to compete with the 25th year. Using all of the icons down the middle of the street and stages with their live shows was just so cool.

We probably won't attend opening night on Friday night. It takes about 24 hours to drive down there and we usually pretty wiped out on our first day. Saturday night will probably be at Finnegans for stay and scream. We hope to run into you and Tom, or any fun peeps who love to chat!!

Oh it’s just around the corner now.......I’m definitely most excited for Halloween.......nothing compares to that for me........I will happily get scared in there all night long!!! That is a long drive though........

Saturday night we won’t be in the park till later as I think we’ll be out for my birthday dinner first......maybe the Palm or Ocean Prime, haven’t decided yet.......

Finnegans will be fun for you I’m sure........we like the bar there!!!

In one of your posts, I loved the little finger slip that talked about “tiddlers”

So looking forward to what more you have to say and show us on Diagon Alley!

Thanks mac...…..we did seem to take an awful lot of pictures today for only being there a morning today!!!!

In one of your posts, I loved the little finger slip that talked about “tiddlers”

lol.....Erin wasn't meant to be a finger slip...…..that's what we call tiny little fish in the UK...…..what do Americans say????

Me too, you always manage to capture something that I've never noticed before.

Thanks Vicki...…...I love the tiny little details all around...…..I suppose some might say I`m quite sad really...….lol...…..who gives a jot!!! I love it and Tom is happily more than content to snap away......and he really is much better than me at taking pictures...….although I do take the odd few...…

Usually the blurry ones...…...:rotfl:

We came back out after retrieving my bag and hats form the lockers......and for the first time I didn`t have to fight my way through hordes of people crammed together......back out into the blazing sunshine and headed straight to Dogweed and Deathcap shop...….you do have to look in the windows first though...….

i-KHKdPJc-XL.jpg

We hadn't gone here often and it is a cute store, with some of the most enthusiastic TM we have met...…...they were so funny talking about what kid of care the animals needed once you purchased them......one little boy looked totally bewildered when he was being told what not to feed his new purchase......his little face was a picture...….

i-6Rdcj2j-XL.jpg

i-drTGkh6-XL.jpg

i-XqBzfdC-XL.jpg

It is an interesting little store, but we don't purchase anything, apart form our cases would already be struggling, there was nothing we liked enough to buy in here...….most of the kids we buy for had most of the stuff!!!

Back out into the sunshine we mooched around and generally just savored the whole area as this would be our last visit till September......although that did feel really cool to us that we would be back so soon!!!

i-SbbWPKS-XL.jpg

i-R9GFGdK-XL.jpg

i-Z8XtJCC-XL.jpg

i-jc2WFdM-XL.jpg

It really is a beautiful place...….so many little corners and even places that some people don't now exist...…...and The Fountain of Fair Fortune is one of them it seems…….we had told a couple of people over the years about it, and some had said they couldn't think where it was...….you really couldn't miss it....

i-25B93BP-XL.jpg

i-hzQDTdJ-XL.jpg

i-PLjsnnV-XL.jpg

And again my love of traditional doors shines through………………

i-9hqLmxq-XL.jpg

And after our short diversion of which we bought a bought of gillywater……..water. It was far too early for any alcohol, and the drinks offered aren't the type of drinks I would enjoy anyway...…..but it is a lovely little place and we had never, ever seen it too crowded.

Now on to my favourite place, or one of them in Diagon Alley...…..I`ve probably bored far too often about how cool this place is......if you like dark and mysterious then you`ll love Knockturn Alley.

i-pcnttsz-XL.jpg

It isn't too busy at all today...…..some days you can struggle to look at things in here for crowds, but today it was pleasant. And the cool air was incredibly welcome......we were feeling the heat today...……

So many things to picture in here and experience...….

i-7CkcP5Q-XL.jpg

I loved this sign below!!!! If it ever became available for sale the way they sell things off in the prop shop, I`d buy it immediately......not sure what I`d do with it though...…..:confused3

Although there are so many items that are peculiar and different from every day stuff around most people`s lives...…..certainly a few curiosities to pick up.

i-C5NktTm-XL.jpg

i-2xBKHps-XL.jpg

i-cpfsDkd-XL.jpg

Tom had been chatting so someone who was asking about his camera. So I went over to the bench to have a seat. And I feel truly dreadful about what I did next.

I really wasn't paying attention to anything around me...…..a man came and sat down beside me, I registered he had what I thought was a pushchair...….I was looking over at Tom and as I said I was kind of daydreaming when all of a sudden someone grabbed my arm.....not overly hard, but it was a grab......I got a shock and gasped incredibly loud and sprang to my feet.

I turned and the man beside me was apologizing......it wasn't him, it was a wheelchair that he had in front of him and an adult male was in it who clearly had some problems in life. I felt awful. Truly awful. He must have reached over to just touch my arm affectionately. There really was no harm done and the young man in the wheelchair wasn't aware he had done something wrong......not that he had...….but I think it was his father kept apologizing. I said I was sorry and walked away...….I was shaking at this point as I had been alarmed at the sudden grab, but felt so bad I didn't go back and say it was totally alright.

When I get scared like that I cry. So by now the tears were prickling in my eyes and by the time Tom saw me he thought something bad had happened...….when I told him he just gave me a hug and said let`s go...…….but I am so sorry I didn't go back and tell the lad`s father I shouldn't have been so alarmed.

I don't suppose he`ll ever see this, but I do wish I could go back and say sorry.

Coming up...…..lunch at Yellow Dog Eats.

So we headed towards the exit of Diagon Alley...…..Tom can always bring a smile to my face whenever I am a little sad or down, and today was no different......so, we did snap a few pictures on the way out of the park...…..I would love to sit in this little balcony with a glass of wine...….isn't there always wine involved!!!! But it is so pretty and at night is even prettier.

i-gDSx7LK-XL.jpg

We see some people wandering in and as always we love to see people walking in for the first time and seeing the reaction as they encounter everything that this amazing place has to offer.

Outside we had a wander around the beautiful fountain and Knight bus area...…..and again we marveled at how lucky we had been with crowds this time.....or rather lack of crowds...….it really had been amazing......busy at times, but not as busy as had been expected.

i-XfKpPkT-XL.jpg

i-3NFbw6H-XL.jpg

i-ZmfdRjp-XL.jpg

i-G4KxQRF-XL.jpg

i-L3jKRXm-XL.jpg

i-Kmxk9PK-XL.jpg

Again with the detail in everything that Universal have touched with this place...….we have always been so impressed with that since day one.

i-8hjXhJW-XL.jpg

Then we had a rather lovely moment.

Someone recognized me again.

A lady, her husband and teenage daughter approached me rather tentatively......she was smiling and looked very genuine...….I said hello......she said oh it is you...….I burst out laughing and said well I hope so...….I remember her name was Corrine and her husband was David, but I forget the daughters name.....anyway they were from Germany and only read trip reports on different sites......but told us they had really enjoyed ours and had read them all in the last few months. This was their first visit to Universal and Orlando so I was thrilled to hear that they had taken so many notes from what we did. Lovely to hear though. And as I was already a little emotional, I almost felt like crying again...…...but I didn't.

Chatting to them was so nice and really lifted my somewhat dampened spirits after the unfortunate incident in Knockturn Alley. They were lovely and lived close to a place we had visited years ago in Germany...….and our surnames were somewhat similar too which was odd...….there is a German element in our families too.

We chatted for maybe 20 minutes then wished each other well, and I felt a little important when they asked for a picture of us together...….of course, so a passing TM took one of all of us...…..I said I wouldn't post it and she asked I didn't as they don't put anything online due to her husband career.....so I have no clue what he did as I didn't ask. But, it was lovely to meet them and I felt so happy they had taken so many of our suggestions as to things to go and places to eat around Orlando...….and enjoyed them all!!! That made our day.

i-4tSGbqs-XL.jpg

We began to head to the front of the park now, but got a little waylaid by the old train carriage from Back to The Future...…...it does look good.....we didn't see Doc Brown this visit, and that is one character Tom does like to meet.

i-5vM3kwB-XL.jpg

i-GG26HjS-XL.jpg

Again, lack of crowds is fairly obvious here...…..and we mused how pleasant it was, as in a few weeks this area would be mobbed with HHN crowds...…this area always has a fabulous scare zone...….the trees are full of pumpkins......and the lighting is stunning.....and some good scares too!!!!

i-DMnzGQL-XL.jpg

Mel`s Diner is not somewhere we would choose to eat. We had tried it many years ago, and again at one HHN I believe...…..but it just didn't have it for us to want to try again...…..

i-QPwqfH5-XL.jpg

We had the pleasure a few years back to capture a whole load of pictures with the whole Scooby Gang...…...it`s not often you see the whole five of them, there`s usually a variation of the group selected. But the day we saw them there was no one else around for 5 minutes or so, so we had the most amazing interaction with the whole bunch!!! We must have taken around 100 images of the meet...and they were so funny and stayed in character the whole time......Fred was asking if I thought he was the most handsome and Daphne the prettiest...….it really was fun.

But, today we were only walking past as we wanted to get out the park and go get showered as it was incredibly humid now and we felt as though we were baking...….so we snapped a picture or two without anyone else with them...…..

i-vXD9D4N-XL.jpg

So, now we were walking out the park and we bought a mug that we had eyed up and hadn't bought...….I think we must have every mug Universal had ever produced...…..friends joke we don't have regular mugs, they`re all themed!!!

Then we got the boat back to Sapphire Falls where we didn`t have to wait long at all as one appeared as we were walking down towards the boat. We got to the room and quickly showered and changed and had a massive drink of Snapple...…...the room was so temperate, we certainly enjoyed the cool and quiet ambience of the room.

Downstairs we asked the valet for the car......well, we started to but they knew which car it was and announced they would get it before we asked...….excellent service...…….one of them gave us a couple of bottles of water and we did drink them too...…..

Tom drove to Yellow Dog Eats. We love this place.....it`s in Gotha which isn't far away...….but one of the things we love about this place is there are very few tourists here. There are some, as I know a few people who have been, but generally it`s all local. But it is a friendly place and food is sublime!!!

And it is very unique...…...I don't think I have ever been in a place quite like it...…..rustic is one word.

i-ZhP8GbS-XL.jpg

There really isn't many seats inside, plenty outside though, but it was far too hot to be outside today...…..so, we sat at the bar and the barmaid is lovely. Her name is Makenzi and we remember her from last time. And the line for food is out the door...…..so sitting at the bar means she will order it on the till for us......saved waiting in line...…...

We have two cokes which you help yourself from the machine and it`s free refills...….they do have a decent selection of drinks...….

i-737HDjv-XL.jpg

We sit down and she hands us each a menu...…..this is going to take a while. The menu here is huge and everything sounds tastier than the previous item. We had been here a few times and it has always been lovely, but we always liked to try something different...…..so we studied and I swear neither of us spoke a word for 5 minutes.

i-8CCZkDX-XL.jpg

Eventually Tom decided to go for the ribs, only half a rack with their famous BBQ sauce......and it came with coleslaw and a bag of potato chips...….I eventually after a long peruse, opted for the Rufus which was their gorgeous pulled pork topped with thick cut cherry peppers, thick sliced Brie, raspberry sauce drizzled and the BBQ sauce.....I added the bacon, jalapenos and shoe string potatoes...…..minus the onions...….no problem!!!!

It is a busy and very popular place here...…..there is a constant stream of people coming in for both take out and sitting in......and the guy who delivers the food when it`s ready has a unique twist to your name or order, he is very funny!!! But, the food is incredible...….for a sandwich it must be up there with the best of them...…….

They do have a well stocked bar, and we always comment we should come up here at night.....although they don't open really late, maybe 9 or 10pm...…..but they have some very unique drinks...….and plenty of them.

i-gGCB2wr-XL.jpg

i-NhBp8mm-XL.jpg

Tom goes for a wander and takes some pictures of the desserts in the chiller cabinet...….and we plan to bring Kyle here in December, I doubt he`d eat the sandwiches but he would have the chocolate cake for lunch...…...that`s totally allowed on vacations...…..it did look incredibly rich!!! He would love it...…

i-zMrsH3K-XL.jpg

i-qhdsg9D-XL.jpg

Our food arrived...…..and it looked delicious...….Tom`s ribs were a perfect sized portion for lunch......but when he finished it he wished he had room for more......they were perfect and had a very unique flavor he hadn't tasted before...…..Makenzi said it was the smoker they used and whatever they put on it......but I did get a taste and they were beautiful...…….

i-LnXLtCh-XL.jpg

I had asked for extra jalapenos on mine...…..I needn't have bothered...…...this was quite hot enough......the cherry peppers were hot!!!!

i-FnwqFpc-XL.jpg

But, I still have to say......it was still bloomin marvelous!!!! The pork with Brie is something I hadn't tried...…...and my first bite had a bit of everything in...….including too many hot peppers!!!! But, everything else was so tasty......I really didn't want this meal to end.

We had exceptionally clean trays...….except for a few stray jalapenos that I may have avoided...…….usually I can eat extremely hot food......but not this!!! But, so tasty.....the BBQ sauce we meant to buy to take some home and forgot, but we would remember next time.

We were reasonably full, but felt we wanted something...…...so Tom asked if I wanted to share a slice of coconut cake...…..yep, I`d be up for that.....so we got one between us and it was more than enough...…..it was so light but the buttercream was so indulgently rich.....I couldn't have eaten a full slice on my own...…...and the thing that surprised me was, and I said to Tom this is nicer than 4Rivers coconut cake...…….he agreed.

Our lovely barmaid asked if I had just said it was nicer than 4Rivers...….I said yep, it really is...…..she called over the owner and told him who was delighted and said we had made his day!!!! Quite the accolade apparently.

i-hqJ9qSt-XL.jpg

We chatted for a bit then decided it was time to move on...….we paid our check and went back into what felt like waking into the sun outside and I had decided I`d be driving back...…….

Even outside though they have some unusual objects around the car park area...…..it isn't a very large area, but they do have some extra space over to the back for cars. We had always been lucky to get parked close to the door.

i-TQgrcfx-XL.jpg

i-MSDMG36-XL.jpg

i-NM9zcgN-XL.jpg

i-PttGws2-XL.jpg

It is tight getting out of the car park and the cars sensors were bleeping like crazy as we were so close to the wall of the building and the fence on the other side...…..but we got out. Thankfully!!!

We were now heading off to ABC wines and liquor for our rums to take home and a few last minute shopping items then we would decide where we would eat tonight...……..

lol...….it seems that way!!!

Always loved scooby and gang as kid...….and when you see them, it takes you right back.....well it does me...….:rotfl:

lol.....Erin wasn't meant to be a finger slip...…..that's what we call tiny little fish in the UK...…..what do Americans say????
In America, we talk about toddlers! So tiddler made me think of tipplers, which is someone who is drinking and lurching about, which is what toddlers often look like.

So I looked up tiddler, and you DO NOT want to know what the urban (slang dictionary) says tiddler means. Ack. Not family friendly at all! Merrimack Webster agrees with you.
