DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Yes. But they are also crackers.

IF you ever make it over here, we are going for Pie & Mash, East End Style. Pie is with minced beef and there is a parsley sauce on top of it all called liquor. Which isn't hard spirits. Although that does sound interesting.

This is not my area of expertise. Ask a proper Northerner like Lawson, or Jeff, who seems to be a bit of an expert on english food. I think they used to serve them as an appetiser before the Sunday roast, with Jam.

You're making it worse.

:rotfl::rotfl:
I am going back and watching Cheers on Netflix, I loved the Norm intro lines at the start of the episode. My 2 favorite are

Coach: How is life treating you Norm?
Norm: Like a baby treats a diaper

Sam: You want a beer Norm
Norm: Isnt it a little early?
Sam: For beer?
Norm: No for stupid questions.

I wondered if you would stick around for that line, Cliff. Cheers did have some good writing.

Just think of Yorkshire Pudding as biscuits and gravy. Its basically a simple biscuit with different gravy's depending on which course of the meal it is served with.

Except it is not milk/ sausage gravy over big, fluffy, buttery, fat-filled biscuits.

Thats cause sawmill gravy is for breakfast. but you are right about no fat in the biscuits. Milk, flour, egg thats all that is in the pudding. Suppose you could make a good fatty brown gravy to drown them in; that is how we have had them before.

'Morning all...
Storm pretty much stayed northeast of us the whole time.
Good for us, bad for the Down-East. Those folks got pounded.

Hope all y'all are doing well
Glad to hear you're okay Rob. You fared better than most. Looks pretty bad on TV, but then again that's what the news does...showing non-devastation doesn't sell.

Biscuits n Gravy...
It's not just for breakfast anymore.

(cause, if it is... you missin' out)

The focus does tend to be on the carnage.
but we watch, so we can argue over who's fault that is.

The size of the thing meant that it effected both states.
The slow speed of it, though, meant that it really only hurt the folks in the east of NC.
The rest of us got lucky.

I knew I was going to be fine once it came ashore just north of Wilmington.

:lmao:Hey, you ask the questions. I just give you the facts.

But they are British facts, so they are not real facts to be trusted. Speaking of British, have you heard their thoughts on tea? First you tax it. Now you use it as an analogy.

Take that brown gravy back to Texas.

I'm disappointed that Cracker Barrel doesn't sell alcohol. But, its biscuits n gravy make up for it. That stuff is the best. Do the chicken fried chicken with that gravy with the biscuits n gravy and try not to fall asleep at the wheel on the drive home. Yum!!!

Sort of. Its more of a waffle or pancake mix without the sugar in a cupcake tray, that's much thinner and rises in the oven. View attachment 351439

Think a flavourless piece of dough that the Brits go crazy over.

If you curl up a slice of rare roast beef in the middle and a dollop of horseradish or mustard on top, that's pretty special.

See all the things that add the flavour.
