Ok, I'm in total shock right now, I actually got a response!
They're aware and working on it?? Which, isn't what they said the day before yesterday :rolleyes2

wow, good for you, keep doing what you are doing. It looks like the messages finally got to someone who understand how serious the situation is.

Thank you! I think I will now forever be known as that woman who wouldn't stop or something at DCL, or maybe the entire Disney company :rolleyes1

This just reminds me that at the end of the cruise I had a conversation with one of the entertainment staff, he said we were so nice and we never complained, but I actually did complain to him (a bit jokingly a bit serious when they had planned two activities I really didn't want to miss at the exact same time). So I reminded him and his response was "Oh yes, you had a real complaint, not an American complaint" (he is American btw)

They're talking about going to the embassy
Yes.

The overseas postings take some work to get into and they tend to be pretty nice/helpful within the restrictions of the fed system.
A good friend of mine is a human resources rep who deals with the overseas consulate staff.

I'm so glad you got a reply! It's definitely worth it to take the message up to the top level. Those in charge understand that if something doesn't get done it will affect their future bottom line...either they'll have people who CAN"T come back to US, or (if it does get fixed without any help from Disney) people that will not want to book with Disney ever again or possibly do any business with Disney.

I hope that everything works out for you. YOU should not have to do anything, I get that they want you to show 'proof', but you shouldn't have to pay money (such as taking a trip to the US while you were still able or hiring a lawyer) to fix something that you did not cause. I know that 'I' wouldn't want to do that--why should I spend money to fix someone else's mistake.

Disney definitely should be emailing the lead contact for every stateroom to tell them about this issue...and hopefully eventually they will. I can see them waiting until there is something 'constructive' that they could say about fixing it, as well as having the legal dept. okaying anything they put in print. I do think it's taking far longer than it should though... I DO think it will all get worked out in the end, hopefully it will get fixed sooner than later.

Can you share your response?
I was trying to be discrete, I still want them to fix it ;)

Yup, we're going to DLP to renew our annual passes this weekend and we already talked this week if we still wanted to do it or not, since I felt a bit fed up with Disney because of their lack or response. I decided we'd wait till the end of the weekend to see how we feel then (so yes, the jury isn't out yet)

I feel exactly the same way, if it doesn't work out, we won't be able to got the US, it'll safe us a lot of money in the long run I think, so I'll take that

This response got me thinking they might not think their hands are tight and they're still trying to get it resolved? If so, it's totally fine to not contact people, if they don't have to do anything anyway. But then, why did they say something totally different the day before yesterday??

Because they are dealing with government agencies and they may have been previously told there was nothing they could do. Maybe I’m a Pollyanna, but why always jump to nefarious motives?

I didn’t jump on anything! And I gave them the benefit of the doubt, until they stopped updating us! It’s a time sensitive issue, just keep people updated “there seems to be nothing we can do anymore, please request proof from us you were on the cruise”, “oh wait, we found an opening, upload the proof, but hang tight for updates”
I’m not talking hourly or even daily, but every other day?

Really, I don’t say there is a nefarious motive, I’m just saying they’re still not updating the people they promised they’d keep updated

I guess if you are not affected or dont travel on an ESTA you probably have a different view. For me, while I'm not affected, I do travel on an ESTA. Knowing this has happened on a transatlantic Disney Cruise, it has 100% convinced me NEVER to do a transatlantic cruise, with Disney or any other cruise company. I am also now on the fence about doing an American / Caribbean Cruise with Disney or any other cruise company.

Just the possibility that this could happen and put my eligibility to enter USA at risk is enough for me to decide against certain cruise routes.

And yes I did see up thread that similar happened on an airline. When I fly to USA I only fly on Aer Lingus, the Irish airline. I will not use any USA based airline.

The simplest explanation is a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. Either the two people you spoke with (or whomever spoke with) werent consulting enough or there was stuff going on behind the scenes that your point of contact doesnt know about.

I hope this gets resolved soon, than you for keeping us in the loop. Not that Id expect to ever be in this particular situation but when you choose a cruise line you are kind of putting yourself at their mercy. I want to know that the cruise line I am trusting does have mercy.

I just got this in an email from CBP:

Thank you for contacting the CBP Travelers Communication Center.

Yes, it appears that we have enough to adjust the record. We have escalated your ticket for resolution. Please do not create any new incident numbers for this issue as that might delay your request. If you contact us for a status check, please reference the incident number attached to this ticket.

Current wait times for resolution is 3-4 weeks. We will contact you via this incident number once the request has been processed.

So just a little longer.. but it should get resolved!
This was the request to alter the data I send before Disney told us to do it btw. I’ve never put all my eggs in one basket. I did update it with the proof Disney provided, but then I send it in in the exact format they asked for and that seemed to have done the trick

That’s great things are moving along. Fingers crossed. My parents received a reply from DCL last night. They suggest contacting the CBP. They said that they are aware of a few people receiving emails to alert them to issue. They did NOT however reply to fact that my parents didn’t receive any such emails from CBP and only found out about their issue via social media. DCL still not realising that many will not know they’ve been affected until they book a vacation and appear at airport.

Hi olafLover,
I want to thank you for your work here and on social media. I am from germany and my sister and me were also on the EBTA and we are overstaying in two days. We get the 10day email and were not sure what this means before we find this post. Many thanks for you
One question :I have contact to the CBP and DCL and will send the proof from DCL and a proof from our flight in europe to the CBP. Is that enough or have you send other documents?
Thank you and i hope this will be resolved soon for all of us

You’re very welcome, that’s all I want, that everybody can take the necessary steps.

I got a reply they wanted the names and things in a certain format, so I send that, and a list of our previous travels to the US (ours happen to all be on this same ESTA, not sure if you need all or if it was necessary at all, but it was mentioned somewhere)

Yes, I hate it how they keep saying some and a few. I'm willing to accept it's not everybody, but I haven't seen any proof of it yet, so till then, let's just suggest we tread it as if it's everybody
That is a privacy issue, to you / the public they are probably not allowed to say how people were impacted. They know, just can't tell you.
