Declining new magicbands

I went into the app multiple times to decline bands and it never took - I am leaving tomorrow and just got notice that my bands were shipped today to arrive on Tuesday. One day - maybe Disney will hire real IT people.
 
It seems like they took the DECLINE option away now on the actual website also.

Just made a new reservation and there is no longer anything that says decline magicbands under online check-in.

If they wont let us decline anymore they should at least allow us to delete ones off of our account. I must have 15 of them listed under my name in my account.

We have a Jan/Feb split stay for which I've already checked in. I just checked the app for the 2nd reservation and below Room Location Requests it says "MagicBands Order - Remember to bring your MagicBands!" But I clicked on the little pen symbol to the right, and it brought up another screen that said "MagicBands Order - Already have MagicBands? Use them to go directly to your room" but directly beneath that is a checkbox for "I wish to decline new MagicBands for my party." I checked it because we don't need those MB - hopefully we won't have grey ones waiting for us at checkin!

PS I too have quite a few MBs in my account. I've deactivated all but the two most recent ones and will probably deactivate those once we get our new ones. They don't ever seem to drop off the list, though.

It is on the website when you do online check in. There is a box to check to decline MB for your party. What is different is that you have to decline for everybody or order MBs for everybody.

We had a 3 resort split in July and I declined all MBs, we got gray bands in the mail for one resort and had gray bands waiting for us at another resort. I just told them at the resort we didn't want them. Actually my DH likes the gray ones. YMMV

Dont see it anywhere on the website. I use to be able to see it not anymore though. Option is not there.

I just went to the website and clicked on Update Online Check-In and found the option to decline MB up at the top, above everything else!

Crazy that it’s in two different places depending on app vs. website for me - and not there at all for you.
 


We declined MagicBands for our upcoming trip - arrival Dec 4th. I am curious to see if they ship them anyway. We are less than 3 weeks away from our arrival, so we should know soon whether we get unwanted bands or not. I'll be sure to let you know what happens. :)

I said that I would report back about the MagicBands that I declined for our trip next week. Even though I declined them in the online check in section, two grey bands are in the mail now. I checked our MDE accounts and there they are in our list of MagicBands - two nice new grey bands, my first grey band ever. At least now I have all the colors. :)

Oh so that is an option to call IT and remove them from your account? I never knew that. I have over 30 that I would like to remove.

The only way to really get rid of them is to call IT. We were having a lot of problems with our MB's when we used them to get into the parks. Once I had IT remove some old bands, the problems went away.
