I am a FIRM believer in cloth hand towels and napkins,I have been for many years now. I'm also currently washing and switching them all more than I ever have in my life, but that's ok,I have a washing machine...
my DH has always been a hard sell on my 'cloth' policies,
preferring a paper towel(I hide them darn it!) to a hand towel every time he washes his hands....
with our current paper supplies shortage,he has stopped fussing about that. *But the other day my adult ds used a couple of paper napkins for a cleanup job that should have been a sponge or cloth situation....and I got a little...... "loud" in his face...
..... After which I apologized, but I told him that I treat him like a fellow adult, and in this situation, where we live, for the near future, we must all respect the paper supplies we have, and use them ONLY when absolutely necessary.( he agreed and apologized)
It's now about conserving more than trees (my previous premise) and now about having paper goods to use if we need them. IDK if it's like this in all parts of the country, but around here, paper goods are in very short supply.
When I was growing up, we def. lived with a 'make do or do without' mindset..... I think this is a newer concept for many young folks.
