TP is the one thing I know we are okay on for now BUT I know we can go from okay to desperation really fast. As a fam of 6, this weighs heavily on me and I wonder if maybe I should have joined the hoarders. I found TP a couple of weeks ago and it was limited to one per person. I could have had my dd17 buy a package but I just felt wrong buying more than we needed when others might need it more. So, I only bought one package.

for TP keep checking daily on ordering sites....occasionally you'll get lucky with some stock! I've been checking them all for a while, not desperate here but c'mon...this is something that gets used daily ....(see above cloth statement and note for this purpose it would be a true emergency lol) just keep checking!

Not having sports on has been hard with DS. We've been watching old basketball games. Last night it was the 1984 NBA Finals Game 7 (Lakes/Celtics). The shorts were so short. I'm looking forward to the Michael Jordan Documentary coming out in two weeks--I think he'll watch that with me.

I hadn't even thought about all the kissing but the ridiculous plots. And they are in bed or pjs an awful lot. And they never seem to work. She's normally watching it when I'm getting ready for bed and you can see the tv from the bathroom so I've seen way more of them than I need to.

Annnnndddd on our Barclays red advantage AA card.... I had sent a SM last week to PC..... nothing. no response in 7 days.... I figured that was an indication of the customer service...so I had Dh call and cancel it outright. I just need to keep things simple right now.

One thing I think we all should think about when accepting this renewal statement credit is that since Chase started sending out 1099-MISC forms any statement credits have been counted as income. This has included "retention offers" and paperless statement incentives (in addition to support click bonuses). It's possible that we could be taxed for the $100 statement credit.

There's no language in the SM that warns about the potential for it to be counted as income like it does in the support program pages. But it's also not disclosed when accepting a retention offer and yet they've been included in the 1099's.

Chase has been availing themselves of the $600 per SSN reporting threshold for the 1099-MISC form, also something else to keep in mind. It's possible to be under the threshold and not get a 1099.

I haven't decided what to do with mine yet. Original plan was for P2 to get it this year since we were going to book our cruise for next year in a couple months. Then they upped the AF but the sign up bonus would take the sting out of the higher AF still. But the CSP has a higher sign up bonus (but no waived AF so only marginally better) and still available through support, so I could work that angle for a bit more UR out of the deal. Then I'm still contemplating the AmEx Marriott Brilliant and that would take away some of my spend available for Chase. Still have to run a bunch of numbers to see the best way to go, but I'll be estimating worst case with the $100 reported on a 1099.

I am wondering if since this is going against the AF if it would be income. I haven't gotten any 1099s for statement credits against things I bought at Staples or 5 Guys. Seems more like a rebate or coupon which wouldn't be income. I probably don't have to worry since my AF is in September. Not sure they will still be doing statement credits then.

Oh this just made me think. My TC is up in September. I was expecting to use at Glacier on hotels. If that doesn't happen, I'll need to do something.

I am a FIRM believer in cloth hand towels and napkins,I have been for many years now. I'm also currently washing and switching them all more than I ever have in my life,but that's ok,I have a washing machine... my DH has always been a hard sell on my 'cloth' policies,preferring a paper towel(I hide them darn it!) to a hand towel every time he washes his hands.... with our current paper supplies shortage,he has stopped fussing about that. *But the other day my adult ds used a couple of paper napkins for a cleanup job that should have been a sponge or cloth situation....and I got a little...... "loud" in his face... ..... After which I apologized, but I told him that I treat him like a fellow adult,and in this situation,where we live,for the near future, we must all respect the paper supplies we have,and use them ONLY when absolutely necessary.( he agreed and apologized)
It's now about conserving more than trees (my previous premise) and now about having paper goods to use if we need them. IDK if it's like this in all parts of the country, but around here, paper goods are in very short supply.
When I was growing up, we def. lived with a 'make do or do without' mindset..... I think this is a newer concept for many young folks.

This is my DH as well. It drives me crazy. I would not be able to hide them. I am waiting until they are all. If he can't find any at the store then maybe this bad habit will stop.

Well... @Oscar Madison and anyone else curious.... we were able to use the 'cancel trip' form right on the UR website to cancel our Uni tix (originally said nonrefundable) and get all points back in our accounts. I'm sad, b/c we were supposed to be busy packing for a fun family trip right now,but glad to be securely at home with points to use for something else in future....

Ok.... I have a doordash crdit from my CSR...and I don't want to use it. (anyone else watch that doc show how to bring groceries /takeout foods into your house?) I'm seriously leery about food others have handled right now....and I think microwaving already cooked foods ruins it.... I guess I can wait to use that credit (darnit I was gonna use it on my vacation next week) I think my view is also colored by the fact that even in 'normal' times I cook almost all my own food anyway every day....

where my MIL is they do the temp checks...cant do tests every day..someone could be negative one day then positive the next ...not enough to test every day

In my hospital your temp is checked as you walk in the door. You work if you don’t have a temp, even if you’ve been exposed or are positive.

Yes, do this! I got Walmart to deliver 2 packs the last couple weeks by checking a bunch. Just grab it and check out immediately.

Have you seen anything regarding the Delta companion certificates that are earned through the Delta Am Ex cards? I have one that was supposed to expire in November and at this point, it's doubtful that I can use it by then. I haven't seen anything that specifically addressed the companion certificates.

I am officially out of work today. It wasn't shocking as things have been so slow for the past few weeks. I can't file for UE since I am a contractor, so my spending will be grinding to a halt (other than groceries I haven't been spending any money for the past 4 weeks). I’m sorry you were laid off But I had to laugh cause I think we are long lost sisters. My mom is also calling every 3 hours to ask if we’re all ok. Um, yep, still are...she’s so bored. Meanwhile I feel busier than ever trying to keep a house of 6 people happy and fed (teens are bored and sad, boys are eating through the pantry constantly).

I am sooooo tired of feeding kids. I tried the "use your school stomach" thing but it's not working. It's mostly the 12 year told. He seems to need a steady stream of food to survive.

I have not. Mine also expires then.
BUT I did just now get an email from Delta, that all e-credits from cancelled flights are being extended until 5/30/2022! Which is great, as I didn't think I could use mine by 1/15/2021.
