Yes. Real time number is already over 10%. It was based on a survey which mainly occurred before social distancing.Unemployment numbers are in. It jumped to 4.4% and that is significantly under-counting.
I've discovered in my area that it's actually easier to find needed items at smaller mom and pop stores.... even the dollar tree has some overlooked aisles.... They seem tohave a lot less foot traffic coming thru and thus better stocks. I also have some nice options locally with farms selling phone order to curbside pickup for fresh items and eggs.... all of this is def. making me appreciate the local farmers as I should have been for a long time....I would feel better if ground beef and boneless chicken breast were reliably in stock. I know this is stupid given the magnitude of what's going on.
I am a FIRM believer in cloth hand towels and napkins,I have been for many years now. I'm also currently washing and switching them all more than I ever have in my life, but that's ok,I have a washing machine... my DH has always been a hard sell on my 'cloth' policies, preferring a paper towel(I hide them darn it!) to a hand towel every time he washes his hands.... with our current paper supplies shortage,he has stopped fussing about that. *But the other day my adult ds used a couple of paper napkins for a cleanup job that should have been a sponge or cloth situation....and I got a little...... "loud" in his face... ..... After which I apologized, but I told him that I treat him like a fellow adult, and in this situation, where we live, for the near future, we must all respect the paper supplies we have, and use them ONLY when absolutely necessary.( he agreed and apologized)I should probably start doing this. I actually use paper towels in the kitchen because I don't share hand towels! But I could get another hand towel out and just wash it frequently and especially if I see any of the BOYS in my house using it!
Have you tried the new Queso they just started a few weeks ago? It's definitely better than the other Queso.Chipotle queso tastes like chalk.
I have limited all news intake on our current situation to this group, the CDC and the WHO websites. That's it. Nothing else, unless there's a local newsbrief I need to know about. I won't even allow the rest of my fam to read any more clickbait headlines or articles out loud to me. They can read it as much as they like, just not out loud.I believe that bad new sells-you're likely too young to remember Don Henley's song Dirty Laundry but bad news sells better than good news. I limit my reading to professional journals and discussing this with my peers and colleagues. That said, whatever happens in my small town (with only 1 death) is not interesting to the US as a whole. So many communities within a region, state and of course the country are affected differently so for some of us we don't relate to the news on the West Coast or NYC...just as people on the cruise boards are annoyed, more than anything, with our perpetual hurricane news in the late summer/early fall.
I agree with you. My DD27 in cannot find any paper towels where she lives. I told her to cut up some old tshirts for cleaning cloths. People lived for millennia with no paper towels. We can make do for a couple months.I am a FIRM believer in cloth hand towels and napkins,I have been for many years now. It's now about conserving more than trees (my previous premise) and now about having paper goods to use if we need them. IDK if it's like this in all parts of the country, but around here, paper goods are in very short supply.
When I was growing up, we def. lived with a 'make do or do without' mindset..... I think this is a newer concept for many young folks.
My DH was watching that a while back and was like..." shudder....all that kissing all the time, what is WRONG with them?" And he usually appreciates a good kissHart to Hart....
this makes me laugh..... my fam and I spend ridiculous amounts of the day sending each other dumb videos to entertain each other, the ones with littles send the kids making a mess of lunch in the highchair,or doing crafts or dancing...I'm older so I send a lot of musically enhanced cooking clips (todays edition was creating a bowl of oatmeal to the tune of 'singin in the rain',since it's raining here) or a stuffed animal dancing to a song.... or a gramma reading a story.... my bro sent a great 'watering the plants' video the other day I'm going to try and figure out some paper craft project to send some of the kids via snail mail this weekend.... I've found sharing food for the day ideas and recipes is fun too.I’m sorry you were laid off But I had to laugh cause I think we are long lost sisters. My mom is also calling every 3 hours to ask if we’re all ok. Um, yep, still are...she’s so bored. Meanwhile I feel busier than ever trying to keep a house of 6 people happy and fed (teens are bored and sad, boys are eating through the pantry constantly).
exactly!I agree with you. My DD27 in cannot find any paper towels where she lives. I told her to cut up some old tshirts for cleaning cloths. People lived for millennia with no paper towels. We can make do for a couple months.
It’s only through Mar 12.Unemployment numbers are in. It jumped to 4.4% and that is significantly under-counting.

Don't know if you have Moe's or Qdoba? Both of their quesos kills Chipotle's.And this is bad...? J/K...maybe you have the gene...?
This was my mom last night. She wants kleenex, I told her use paper towel (worst case DH still uses handkerchiefs and I could give her some). She said she’d use TP. I’m like, no you can use towels if you run out of paper towel, cloth napkins if you run out of paper napkins. There is not a good TP alternative I want to consider. We use very little paper towel, I use hand towels at the rate of 2-3 per day. I also have separate cleaning rags as well.I agree with you. My DD27 in cannot find any paper towels where she lives. I told her to cut up some old tshirts for cleaning cloths. People lived for millennia with no paper towels. We can make do for a couple months.
I love cilantro too, we all do in our house! Cilantro is not a main feature of the Chipotle queso, or if it is it doesn't mask the chalk taste.I love cilantro. Like I love it with a passion and I add it to everything that even remotely makes sense. I feel so bad for those who have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. That is like the worst. Period!
