VIP, Villains and Vino With Jen and Joe on the Go New TR Link and this TR is COMPLETE!

Watching your vlog made me both smile at your happy faces (and the staff member messing about having fun in the background) and yearn for a day when I can leave the house and go walk on the beach! Hopefully soon!
I'm sure you are missing St Pete's and the ability to be with family dreadfully especially now that wee Gia is unwell :(
My heart goes out to you all
Hopefully today brings better news for Gia

She was actually admitted to the hospital this afternoon to the COVID unit. The doc thinks she has Kawasaki which means she had COVID19 in Jan or Feb when she was sick...They are doing the antibody test.
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear that Gia is in hospital. I am keeping all of you in my heart and sending lots of love and prayers.

Have you ever done See Through Adventure (it's a kayak tour that uses clear kayaks) while down in St Pete's??? We're headed down in October to stay at AKL for a week and we're looking for things to do and See Through Adventure looks like fun...

Caddie's looks like a fun place to visit... We'll have to put it on our list...

Thanks, Moira! Still waiting for results of COVID antibody test. I'll update as soon as we have more info...

Sending positive thoughts to you and your family. Wishing for the best for Gia, I hope she improves.
Thank you, Jeff!

Joe's brother and sister have done this, I believe. Paddling a kayak is too much work for me while on vaca, lol! Joe would LOVE to do it though and asks me all the time.
Caddies has several locations. Definitely check one out. The one on the beach is our fav and the one we frequent the most. The Rum Runner with the topper is the BEST!!!

:welcome:

Thank you soooo much. That's very kind. Hoping for an update on Gia soon...

She's so miserable. Who knew this was such an awful thing for kids. My nurse friends say it feels like shingles...
Poor girl :sad1: We'll all be anxiously awaiting a positive update, and sending lots of positive vibes her way :goodvibes Sending you plenty of virtual hugs in the meantime

Loved the Caddy's vlog - and I loved the surf board tables especially! :cool2:

I read an article last night about the virus causing symptoms in children that mimic Kawasaki syndrome. They listed states they'd seen it in but Florida wasn't on the list yet. I immediately thought of Gia! Please keep us updated. I'm continually praying for her!

Thank you very much. The pieces are coming together and I will update soon.

Real Life Update!!! Gia is Getting Better!!!❤

First, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Gia. It's so nice to have such a wonderful community of friendship and support!!! I am super happy to say that this morning we have a diagnosis and she is FINALLY on the mend...

Gia has a rare blood disorder called Eosinophiliac Syndrome that mirrors the symptoms of Leukemia and at first, had the doctors thinking it was Kawasaki Syndrome from COVID19 (She has been treated on the COVID floor). She has experienced everything from a high temperature, UTI, and double ear infection to swelling, itching, blistering, and bruising of her hands, feet, and back. She has been in an extreme amount of pain and at one point she was being given 18-24 aspirin A DAY. She has had an x-ray, EKG, heart doppler ultrasound, CT Scan without contrast, and a bone marrow test. She has been given a Tylenol drip and oxy.

She has had a team or 5 doctors ranging from an IC pediatrician to an infectious disease doctor and every doctor in between. This team of doctors has been consulting among themselves and with other specialists around the country.

Once she was diagnosed (last night) she was given a very heavy dose of steroids overnight that have worked their magic and have made her look and feel 100% better. If that didn't work she was going to start Chemotherapy, which also helps to heal a patient with this horrible blood disorder.

The outcome is good since it was caught early. Some people do end up losing their lives because this syndrome can cause organ failure. Gia will have to have her heart monitored twice a year. But, other than that, we are looking at a great outcome. I'm not sure how much longer she will be in the hospital but I will keep you all updated.

Again, thank you so much for your well wishes and prayers. My family is VERY grateful!!!!

It must be a huge relief to have a diagnosis and treatment that is making her better. It sounds like an awful experience for her and her loved ones.

I am so thrilled to hear this news! Very happy that there is a diagnosis and she is responding well to treatment. Sending continued prayers and love for Gia and all the family. ❤

PTL ! Sorry she has suffered so much but so glad you have an answer . Sounds like it is treatable if monitored. What a relief ! Continued prayers for her recovery and hope she is back home soon

Wow, I'm so glad Gia is ok. That must have been so scary for everyone. Good that it's a treatable condition and the outcome looks good. Poor kid having to go through that.

I’m late to the party...

but so glad to here Gia has a diagnosis and treatment is working! Everyone’s minds are so wrapped up in Covid-19 it is sometimes easy to forget there are other crazy diseases out there. I’m glad they considered every possibility while search for a diagnosis.

So happy we got good news this morning!!!
I can't begin to tell you how happy it has made me to hear that wee Gia is on the road to recovery! So glad that the doctors have figured out what is wrong, that it was caught early and that it's treatable!
I'm sure you have all been beside yourselves with worry. I will continue to light a candle for Gia and you all daily until that precious girl is safely home. Sending love and positivity your way
