I have pieced together a few flights for our trip next year. It has involved checking different airlines daily for flights and then pouncing when they open up.
Toronto to Singapore on April 27th via Taipei on EVA Air (business class). This was booked using Aeroplan miles and the deciding factor (between this flight and a Singapore Air flight direct from Newark) was that EVA gives their business class passengers pajamas. Found out after I booked the flights that the connecting flight in Taipei is on a *Hello Kitty* plane, so that's a bonus!
A week at the Conrad Maldives in an overwater bungalow. I was going to book a beach bungalow (they are bigger), but the girl on the phone told me that the overwater bungalows are $300.00 / night more expensive using cash, yet the same points cost, so I went for it. I am not a fan of changing rooms mid-stay, otherwise moving to a beach bungalow might have been an option at some point. Tagging @calypso726 for room advice (sorry I couldn't find your review).
Still working on the flight from Singapore to Male on May 3rd. So far I haven't been able to access the flight I want on points (Singapore to Male on Singapore Air), but I will keep trying for this one. It's tricky as I want to avoid being stuck with points on Singapore Air if we can't travel next year, so I need to book through Aeroplan; one 'saver' seat shows up on Singapore Air but nothing on Aeroplan as yet.
Male to London via Qatar on Q Suites (business class) booked on British Air on May 10th. From the research I have done it appears that we will get pajamas, but I'm not sure if this is just for overnight flights (we are flying in the daytime). I am super excited to be flying in a Q Suite
We will stay in London for 5 nights (using Hyatt points at a SLH property or possibly staying at the Conrad using 2 FNCs and points), then fly back to Toronto. I have 2 options for this route -- BA or AC; will likely use AC to save money on the taxes.
I am glad that this trip is taking shape nicely. I am toying with the idea of paying cash and staying at the Raffles in Singapore (using AmEx FHR which is currently running stay 3 nights, 4th night free promo), which was the hotel used in Crazy Rich Asians! Currently I have the Conrad booked because I want to use our Diamond status. Will decide in due course.
