I have pieced together a few flights for our trip next year. It has involved checking different airlines daily for flights and then pouncing when they open up.

Toronto to Singapore on April 27th via Taipei on EVA Air (business class). This was booked using Aeroplan miles and the deciding factor (between this flight and a Singapore Air flight direct from Newark) was that EVA gives their business class passengers pajamas. Found out after I booked the flights that the connecting flight in Taipei is on a *Hello Kitty* plane, so that's a bonus!

A week at the Conrad Maldives in an overwater bungalow. I was going to book a beach bungalow (they are bigger), but the girl on the phone told me that the overwater bungalows are $300.00 / night more expensive using cash, yet the same points cost, so I went for it. I am not a fan of changing rooms mid-stay, otherwise moving to a beach bungalow might have been an option at some point. Tagging @calypso726 for room advice (sorry I couldn't find your review).

Still working on the flight from Singapore to Male on May 3rd. So far I haven't been able to access the flight I want on points (Singapore to Male on Singapore Air), but I will keep trying for this one. It's tricky as I want to avoid being stuck with points on Singapore Air if we can't travel next year, so I need to book through Aeroplan; one 'saver' seat shows up on Singapore Air but nothing on Aeroplan as yet.

Male to London via Qatar on Q Suites (business class) booked on British Air on May 10th. From the research I have done it appears that we will get pajamas, but I'm not sure if this is just for overnight flights (we are flying in the daytime). I am super excited to be flying in a Q Suite

We will stay in London for 5 nights (using Hyatt points at a SLH property or possibly staying at the Conrad using 2 FNCs and points), then fly back to Toronto. I have 2 options for this route -- BA or AC; will likely use AC to save money on the taxes.

I am glad that this trip is taking shape nicely. I am toying with the idea of paying cash and staying at the Raffles in Singapore (using AmEx FHR which is currently running stay 3 nights, 4th night free promo), which was the hotel used in Crazy Rich Asians! Currently I have the Conrad booked because I want to use our Diamond status. Will decide in due course.

What is the significance of May 31st with regard to the CSR doordash credit? I was thinking I had to use the first $60 credit by May 31, but now I don't see that requirement? I'm sure my memory is failing me again, lol.

5x point earning, up to $500, ends on the 31st. After May the bonus 2x on top of the normal 3x goes away. Credit goes by calendar year.

I’ve been at a children’s hospital for over 24 hours now. Elliott had a fever yesterday morning so we took him to the ER next to our house. They did a horrible job and couldn’t even get his iv in after 20 minutes so we left and drove to Orlando to the children’s hospital instead since they’re specialized in pediatrics. His fever was slightly higher at 101 by the time we got there (an hour drive). They took his blood samples and collected urine. They also swabbed him for Covid which was horrendous for me to watch. He screamed so bad and there was nothing I could do to help him.

Dh was not allowed into the hospital at all because they have a one parent rule. So I’ve been here by myself the entire time and he’s at home worried sick. They told us yesterday that Elliott was doing much better and likely would go home today at 2 pm. They got his culture back today and results from his kidney ultrasound. One of his kidneys is slightly enlarged from reflux with the urine. The urine culture came back and he has a rare type of bacteria that requires more testing to see what antibiotic he needs so instead of going home today I might not be going home with him until tomorrow or possibly even later. If they can’t find an antibiotic that works against the bacteria then he will stay longer, get a more permanent iv in his arm, and a nurse will have to come to our house to give antibiotics that way every 6-8 hours.

This has been a horrible couple of days and I know Dh is feeling worried stuck at home. I’m crossing my fingers they find an antibiotic so we can go home tonight but it isn’t looking good. So it had nothing to do with my diet this entire time. It was just something we couldn’t control 😢
Oh no . . . I’m so sorry you guys are going through this. Sounds like he is in the right place though.

I'm so, so sorry. Hang in there, and thank you for letting us know. I sincerely hope they find the right antibiotic soon so you can go home. Very good move going to the children's hospital. :grouphug:

Looking at the new park hours... and they are populating the main calendar through 10/31 so far (I think) gives me pause. I have already been on the fence about my September trip big time... but if MK is closing at 6 or 7, Epcot opening at 11 and closing early, etc - it really does make me question the value of going this year. How can you even hop with those hours?

I wonder if F&W will just be canceled? If that is the case, I can say there really isn't much point for me going period. Plus there is the issue of reduced capacity and WDW limiting ticket sales and I do not have tickets yet.

So much up in the air and we'll have to see how everything shakes out. But I can see more people canceling wth the news of severely reduced hours (plus no parades, fireworks, etc). I mean it is not like the ticket prices are going down!

I loved our Over-Water bungalow and would do it the same way again. Here the post with room pics https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...s-so-much-thread.3680669/page-6#post-60412851

Oh no! How terrible. But so glad that you went and he is getting the medicine now, I am sure he will be feeling better very soon. (((Hugs)))
