Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

While of course we've known it wasn't happening for awhile now, cancelling 7/4 week Poly CL trip just now kinda burned. We've had the good fortune of being at Poly CL for a few recent 7/4s and NYEs and it's always such a special/fun time to be at the resort, and one of few times where staying CL has a unique advantage. I had held off on actually cancelling the reservation for no other reason than I just didn't want to let it go.

We will look forward to better times and the eventual return of our favorite resorts and CLs.

I was booked Poly CL for that weekend almost entirely because of following along with your July 4th reports in the Poly thread and seeing how much fun you guys had. I might be as disappointed about missing out on that as our big May trip. Here’s hoping we can all do it next year.

Did you call to see where you would be moved to?

I had 7/4 and canceled too because dd going to the beach instead.

This is heading towards OT for this thread but I see comments about Uni CL and the Uni resorts somewhat often, so looking for some help/support/assurance from those with experience.

We're a WDW family true and true, have never been to Uni or their resorts (for no particular reason, just have never had the right opportunity to go).

Our trip is before the WDW parks open, so were going to use the time to hit other Central FL things we always say we want to do but never do. I could have kept the WDW stay (and moved to a villa) but as I posted about above I cancelled it as I had also booked Royal Pacific CL. My original thinking was we'd rather try something new, there was transparency that they are open, we've really wanted to go to Volcano Bay.

As soon as I cancelled WDW I had some pretty strong regret - fear of the unknown vs known I guess. It can't be undone so it is what it is. Just looking for some positive vibes about Royal Pacific CL for a mainly WDW-focused fam.

Thanks all. :goodvibes

The ability to get your temp taken every morning at your resort , guaranteed park entry, open feature pools and water park and express pass are fantastic. I heard they moved their CL to conference rooms to allow more spreading out Of guests and to start everything is prepackaged at RP.
I have a TA friend who was given that info. Again info is changing daily.
Also she knew we had WDW CL booked and told me Universal CL would be a wiser choice.

Oh I do hope you go and enjoy it!!! As an anxious person your post resonates - I love Orlando so much in part because it is known and comforting. Still, the thrill of a new adventure is worthwhile and the universal deluxe equivalent hotels are very nice. Loew’s staff are top notch and we have overall had excellent service at RPR and Portofino Bay. I love their pools!!!

Check over on the UO trip reports board for prolific reports from Schumigirl. They often stay RPR club or are offered courtesy privileges when staying at Sapphire Falls next door (UK travelers that often spend 2+ weeks onsite at UO). Carole makes RPR cl sound dreamy. We have stayed HRH club level and RPR standard - our HRH cl experience was dreadful so I won’t even go there, but the offerings are very different. At HRH club they had water, soda, and packaged snacks out pretty much all day, but adult beverages are limited to a fairly short evening window and we did not enjoy the variety or quality of evening food offerings. Breakfast was much better. CL staff varies by resort of course so you may want to check out Carole’s reports as they love the RPR team members.

Don’t forget you can pool hop at their resorts! Man now I want to head back to Strongwater Tavern for a rum drink of some sort... 😊

I don't have experience with RPR but I really liked our CL stay at Portofino Bay. A small boat (never crowded) took us to the park entrance. I thought the rooms were more 'deluxe' than Disney's rooms and the cocktail hour was also 'better'. (I have also stayed at HRH and the pool was nice but I really didn't like the style/atmosphere of the resort, in general)

Before we went we did a marathon HP movie viewing. We mostly toured HP but my kids also liked the Seuss area. I think you will have a relaxed vacation if you have pool time included, but I wouldn't stay as long as a Disney vacation unless you are doing other things outside Universal.

Hard truth: My family is also more Disney-oriented and we did like Universal but it is not Disney. We enjoyed our trip and Potter world was very fun but don't think we will go back anytime soon. Glad we got to see it. And I really enjoyed the happy hour; hope it's still good.

Dd is a potter fan as well as I . We did HRH for the walkability. Loved the express pass included.

I have friends that do Portofino cl and love that,

Have to say I am still considering moving to Uni for my July trip if they move me to a cabin, or cancel me.

2 days was fun but longer is too much at US. Oddly people would say DL is boring but I did 5 days and loved it and went back the next year.

We love DISNEY!

I have always loved coasters but US make your bones rattle and you feel like you gonna die lol. Nope ! Sorry dd I’m NOT doing those again.

Wwohp? Yep love that!

We’ve actually tried all three Universal CLs and really enjoyed them all. We LOVE the Polynesian, so we gravitated towards RP right away. The breakfast is very similar to what you would find at Disney. The grab and go snacks are super useful and do save money, along with the soft drinks and water bottles. Dinner was okay, I have food allergies so they did prepare me a meal but it was so salty I couldn’t eat it. You can call and get the menu for your days in advance, which I found super helpful. You are limited to a short window for drinks, but they will give you drinks “to go” that you can stash in the room fridge for the next day. No POG mimosas, but these are hard times, after all.

In terms of the parks, we are not “grownup ride” people and still love Universal. The HP areas are amazing and this is the year to go! Usually, it’s so crowded that you can’t even do the wand tricks without having to wait for quite a while. The appeal of low crowds plus Express pass is going to be the best thing you’ve experienced in a while! I think you will all love it. My mom, who is NOT a theme park person (but loves Disney) is even talking about taking a few days out of our girls week in August to go to Universal so that she can see it with the low crowds .

Our first time being there will be July 4th weekend, but this was shared with me via their guest services as their current offerings. Hope it helps!

We are a Poly family that loves USO, too! We have stayed at RP, HRH and PF. We enjoyed the club at RP. Breakfast about the same but more meal like options later in the day. They have bottled water too. The express passes and not having to preplan anything is great. City walk has a lot of restaurants. Cowfish is our favorite. There is a thread regarding APH rates and information which is very helpful and saved us a lot of $$$ as the AP cost is not much more than a park ticket and there is a current promotion. Kids like the HRH pool the best. Pool hopping is allowed.

The draw of low crowds in HP world is strong- and I’m in CA 🤣 I also have become much more interested in Volcano Bay as I’ve never been...

Yes, we arrived Saturday morning and did parks in afternoon/early evening, Sunday morning until 5pm, and then Monday I had planned to do parks until around 3pm but my kids were ready to leave and go over to Disney that morning. With younger kids I think the trip can be longer if you add in a lot of pool time.
