GotG Cosmic Rewind AP previews

How does it work with park reservations do you need a park reservations if you have a preview time?
With the Remy preview they automatically added a Epcot park reservation to your MDE. I was at Universal the week that I did Remy. Don’t know about people with an existing park reservation what happened

DVC Chat is saying that I didn't get the email because my DVC reservation in May partially used resale points (even though it partially used direct points too).

"It looks like, since you used resale purchased contracts to make the reservation, it did not flag your stay as being eligible. You will be eligible to register, if the dates coincide with your stay, once they are announced. Please keep an eye on the DisneyParks Blog and DisneyVacationClub.com for the latest new and announcements."

But I still should be allowed to register.

It is alarming that DVC CMs keep saying that using your direct points is a requirement to receiving certain benefits (some have said the same thing about Moonlight Magic), that has never been the case before.

I'm also an Annual Passholder, so I have no clue why I don't get the emails from them. Maybe will try calling VIPassholder and asking them - but usually they just say make sure you're subscribed to promotion emails on privacychoices.thewaltdisneycompany.com which I am. I even went so far as to unsubscribe from all emails for 24 hours and re-subscribe, which clearly didn't fix the problem.

So are you saying DVC are only invited if they have a stay during the time of the event? So the only way to box in an invited is to also have an AP?

And note: AP holders receiving emails is not consistent in getting it at all, and often rolls out at all different times.

When I use the link for passholder special events as given on page 1 of this thread, it loads up my friends and family that are passholders as options automatically. I suspect that those APs who DON’T get the email (like me) will still be able to register if they are having the same result as me on that link. Just a hopeful hypothesis . . ,

I got an email telling me that I’m going to get a registration email. I’ve got a father & daughter weekend planned for 4/27-5/1. DVC member and AP holder. I’m hoping that this isn’t a false hope. Has anyone ever experienced a preview registration? How does it work?

That’s how it’s worked in the past. A lot of people won’t get the email or will get it late but the link should still work. I will say that for the remy preview a ton of people had errors trying to sign up saying the AP was invalid or something like that

So, are Pixie Dust pass holders not invited?

I just bought my pass last week. No email today.

Two of us are active Pixie Dust and we got ours. My other DS has bought his Pixie Dust but has not activated it, he did not get the email.

When I click the event link on Post #1 it says APs must be activated BUT it has included his AP as one of my guests to book. So total contradiction.

I have never been able to figure out how the emails are sent. We have over 1200 direct DVC points (over half being used for a trip in May) and Annual Passes but never receive the emails from either.

Wait I am confused do you have to be staying on property to do the preview? I know for galaxy edge that was not the case we booked the preview then booked a trip. just curious if this time around is different ?

Do you have promotional emails blocked in your Disney account? I’ve never gotten one before but I decided to complete a survey after our most recent trip in Feb. and I got the email for the offer. I have an upcoming trip in End of april/beginning of May. Is your trip later in May, maybe too close to the actual opening?

As an AP I have not had to be on property. I was commenting on a DVC owner requirements - this post it seems in chat they were discussing eligibility based on their DVC stays/points etc. I was confused and asking if DVC have to be on property to do a preview.

Maybe they are starting with people with hotel ressies and will invite others once they know how many people they get from that group?

For APs, you don't necessarily need the email to register. For Remy, they blasted a notification through the app that reservations were live. (I saw that before I saw the email.)

I'm honestly not sure for DVC members since I've never gotten the emails nor tried to get a preview for DVC. However, it wouldn't surprise me if DVC members are required to be staying on property to qualify for the DVC preview.

I do know that some people who received the email do not have a reservation before May 27th, so if that is a requirement they wouldn't qualify. But it doesn't seem like the email went out specifically to people with a reservation - it just went out to some DVC members and not others (similar to the way some APs get it and some don't).

Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I called the Passholder line to see if anyone can check my email preferences beyond what I've already done online. I've been on hold two hours and 20 minutes as of now. I figure if anyone ever answers, I'll also ask about my pass renewal situation (renewal already purchased, passes switch from Gold - expiring May 1 -- to Sorcerer on May 2).

Please let us know what they say. Dh and I just renewed our passes but they won’t switch until May 9
