Those darn bubble wands

The bubbles wands I saw this trip made tiny tiny bubbles. A few trips ago my DH was sitting a wheelchair under a tree and I was taking care of DGS about 30 ft away in the shade. A family had a wand blew big bubbles and it was like DH was a bubble magnet. He could have be the scrubbing bubbles guy. Again, kid in stroller, parents on phones.

What about the “snow” on main street or in the frozen show in HS?

I loved the bubbles in LM show n HS.

I’m in my 50s also, but I don’t mind the bubbles. I mean I don’t want to be standing in line and a child is aiming them directly at me - but I have never had that happen.
I’m actually surprised that the snow has lasted so long.

If you haven’t had them blown around you and at you constantly then you are fortunate.

I am not 50 yet, but sure am grouchy. I can say something that bothers me worse than the bubbles is the water. I expect it on an attraction and have no issues with it. But just because it is the middle of July doesn’t mean I want want sprayed on me when I walk by your cart. People should also not be allowed to spray it in line if they can’t keep it on themselves.

We despise the bubble wands. Our main issue is my wife is carrying a camera (not just using a phone), a real camera. Every time we see bubbles I have to warn her to protect her camera lense from getting bubbles on it.

As for the fake snow, it usually doesn't bother us, but one time recently at HS while waiting in line for Fantasmic, the fake snow kicked in. We were trapped and it fell for over 20 minutes. A few minutes is more than enough, but 20 minutes!

Didn't realize that so many others were also annoyed with the bubbles wands! It's a really tough call for us - dislike the wall of bubbles we get hit with from time to time. On the other hand, it's usually kids laughing and having fun while doing it! So we tend to grimace, wave them aside, and move on!

I don't like bubbles in my face (obviously), but I think kids should be kids. If they are just shooting them in the air, it's not an issue. I wear glasses and I have never had an issue getting bubbles on my lenses while at DW. Maybe it's just good luck? I also have young kids and we bought each of them a bubble wand ONCE. They got to use it that day and then it stayed in the room. Once it runs out of solution, it's not going to make bubbles anymore and I'm certainly not packing more of that in my suitcase! We are also very aware of those around us and keep them from doing rude things so they wouldn't be spraying bubbles directly at anyone.

I also keep those wands going at home. Pay that much and we fix and repair if need me. One of them has lasted a few years.

We just got back and I wholeheartedly agree with you! You couldn't get away from the bubbles! But the worst was when we were sitting to eat at Casey's and the kid behind us was pointing it right in our direction so it was getting all over our food!
At that point I would kindly ask the parents to redirect the bubbles because ewww.

Most of the time when bubbles are directly disturbing me it’s because the parents are oblivious to it. If they say no, whatever I wpuldn’t make an issue out of it. In the couple cases I’ve had to say something they’ve actually just been apologetic for not noticing.

Nah, you're going about it all wrong.

Get your own bubble wand, but maybe ad a couple dashes of jalapeno juice to the bubble mixture. When the out of control tyke and inconsiderate parents coat you in bubbles you aim your own special bubble wand while loudly exclaiming, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo I return the bubbles to you," then the parents, "and you and you..."

Or just continue to..

You got my old man yells at cloud reference :) OP here and I picture Grandpa Simpson every time I use that phrase - and more and more I start to empathize with him :)

I love the kids that think they're doing you a favor by blowing bubbles directly at you, had that a couple times this last trip.

The bubble wands are annoying but this last time we went to Blizzard Beach and some CM's were out doing the huge bubbles and I was like that's fun, until I popped one and instead of the bubble dissipating it wrapped itself around my arm and coated it in some kind of bubble gelatinous skin... it was gross.

*Gets on soap box*

As a proud dad of a toddler who adores her bubble wand, all the complainers gotta start acting like adults. Seeing her face light up and get excited over something so simple is worth its weight in gold. Yes, I get bubbles on my glasses but that's nothing a quick wipe of the shirt won't fix. Let the kids have their magical moments and enjoy making memories... plus they are a great distraction. If we are that uptight about things, maybe Disney (a kid centered vacation spot) isn't the right choice?

Next trip in Jan-Feb, I'm buying three bubble wants now; one for each of us. Gonna bubble up everything.

As a parent of a kid that owns a Disney bubble wand, I cannot stand the bubbles everywhere. I absolutely hate them on my glasses. And I am extremely annoyed at oblivious parents allowing their kids to bubble up queues, bus stops, and any place that’s packed with people.

These are one of my kid's favorite things on our disney trip every year.... we try to keep it from being annoying to other people but we'll be the people with a cloud of bubbles trailing after us with three kids who adore them :confused3

I can’t stand bubble wands. They were everywhere on our trip. The worst was at the Riviera bus stop where two little boys covered a post from top to bottom at the bus stop. They just stood there constantly spraying bubbles while the parents watched. I’m sure anyone who touched it after that got a sticky mess. I feel bad for whoever had to clean it up.

I’m always behind a kid in a stroller just holding the bubble wand up like a torch and just letting the stream go behind them. The kid doesn’t even see them, but they go directly in the face of everyone behind them. Ugh.

I don't have strong feelings about the bubble wands except for when kids use them in the queues while the parents are oblivious to it or don't care. I saw a kid using one in the bus and that was pretty miserable too. The queues and busses are already tightly packed - adding bubbles into the mix makes it worse. Other than those scenarios, they don't bother me.

They were pretty bad in May and they annoy me too.

The number of times parents encouraged their kids to use the bubble wands in queues was a lot.

The number of times parents just gave the kids in a stroller a bubble wand and let them have it going full blast was a lot. You really can't always get around them especially in crowds. And the CMs weren't any better pointing them towards the pathway so now I've got that competing with kids in strollers moving along just where am I supposed to move to escape them?

Your kids can still get happy smiles from the bubble wands--just be considerate of others and from the behaviors I saw that was the issue not the wand itself.
