Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary

I mean...it would be kind of the last straw if they didn't go right? Maybe only Harry goes as it will be too much for Meghan, but if he doesn't go...that would seem to send a message that it's completely over.
I'm not putting my money on anything till Spare is out. Who knows, maybe it will have new information.

I really wonder what is going on at Netflix and what at Penguin after the reviews of the documentary.

Meghan, well, to me...she *really* seems to be to kind of wear the pants in that duo.
Lol yeah but isn't that well known? Ain't no one disputing that. My Kate musings are just things I've noticed over time long before Meghan became a problem. When Kate had stuff said about her William was not like Harry with respects to outward defense. But William's personality has not really been that way anyways.

Purely my random opinion in some ways Harry may be using people's opinion of his wife to basically finally be able to be heard. Back in his youth it was partying and a lot of ruckus and he calmed down a little bit after a while. I know a lot of people put things on Meghan but at least from the royal experts Harry always had a chip from being under his father and brother and his antics may seem tsk worthy now where people shake their heads pointing to Meghan as the culprit but he did so much stuff on his own before her.

I don't know how close the sibling relationship would be anyhow is what I'm saying irrespective of Meghan, likely worse with her in the picture but not amazing without her either.

Would Harry have left the monarchy had he settled down with someone more like Kate? Probably not and he probably would have attended everything like he was required to do but I'm not sure the brothers would have had the bestest of relationships regardless and Kate IMO more running that marriage if there was any slight there on Harry's part I would have counted Kate to the the one to snub him or at least knowing it was coming from her. Harry just doesn't mind being out spoken and I think there's a human commonality there where we can understand why.

Thank you for this. I don't think it is brought up enough just how mean it is to leave William and his family in the lurch. Prince Philip no way liked playing second fiddle, but he loved his country so much and had enough sense of duty that he considered a life of service to the Queen to be a worthwhile life.
Harry seems to have none of that. William and Kate have had to work doubly hard and to put their kids out front long before they would have wished to do so.

Me, I'd have a very hard time ever forgiving that.

Speaking of the kids...that's another odd thing about the docuseries that was "off" to me. Clearly, early on when Archie was a baby....during the Baptism...and then early on in their time in California, they made the decision that they didn't want to share his face on film. And honestly, I think that was a fair decision....speaking only for celebrities here in the U.S...some put their baby/kid pics right out there, and some don't.

For example, we're big Lin Manuel Miranda fans in my house, and from the jump...he and his wife would share cute content of their children...videos/pics and such...without showing their faces. And maybe because he's an incredible storyteller....the children's personalities still came through. Other celebs (say Tom Brady, the Kardashians..etc) put their kids right out there...and that's great too. I respect both choices.

But this is another example where I feel like H&M are on the fence, or trying to have it both ways. They didn't want to show Archie at his baptism...fair. And then when they moved here...there was the video of them walking on the beach...you see him from behind....clearly an adorable kid, but. no face....all good.

But with this docuseries...there's a bunch of video where they are filming him privately, without showing his face.....and then all of the sudden they do. And then in another sequence...they don't. And then with Lilibet....they don't...until they finally do, and then don't again. I don't know what it is...but I guess I respect Lin Manuel and his wife....for the confidence to at least stick with their decision to not show their faces. It's a weird thing with H&M...kind of....we won't show our kids faces...but here's a peek...and then not so much. They just seem to be overthinking things...a lot. They seem to lack confidence to me.

H&M being invited to the coronation. They continue to be rewarded for bad behavior. Charles is a glutton for punishment and deserves whatever they throw at him. I feel sorry for the innocent bystanders.

I think the only option for the Palace is to invite them. It’s the right thing to do…and it will be viewed by the public in that way. Harry and Meghan will always be the far more awkward position of accepting or declining. It will always feel painfully awkward to see them in that setting….because that’s what it will be.

Also, we don’t know what kind of invitation. If they have very limited access, they probably won’t go. I seriously doubt anyone is going to give them an opportunity to film and record up close.

I feel like they’re kind of “damned if they do and damned if they don’t” invite them. Inviting them is probably the lesser of two evils. They don’t want to give H&M any more ammunition. But I can’t imagine it would be a comfortable affair for H&M at that point. It will be interesting to see what they do.

Does anyone remember the pics of the ”hidden microphone” outlined on Meghan’s clothes on at least two recent occasions in the UK? Does anyone who’s watched these, um, whatever they are, see that they used any recordings from either of those events?

I am not sure if the public views it as the right thing. H&M are so unpopular in the UK, they can expect a lot more booing then at the jubilee. I would advise them to wear dark colours in case someone brings a box of eggs or tomatoes.

Most likely they will not have a front row seat, and excluded from official pictures.

If that was the case we would have heard of it by now. Maybe she did do it and it wasn't used or she never did it.

Other question about what is in it. When H&M were pictured with a film crew during their charity outings in New York, The Netherlands and the UK, was that used? Everything in NL can end up in the Invictus documentary, but the others?
The Invictus documentary is taking a really long time. Probably it's already done and to be released next year with Germany.

I wouldn't put this one 100% on H&M. Here Netflix/Garbus or maybe PR people have been involved. I think their original plan was to not show their kids till they were older or in Christmas cards pics only. But then came this documentary and I can see them convincing H&M to show everything. Maybe because they said that the personal details are the style of the documentary, or that it would be good PR. Or because it would come across weird to talk about the consequences of their actions on their children without really showing them. Or a combination. I think this was a topic of discussion in the Sussex household during the making of the documentary.

They have just published their Christmas card, a picture of them at the Ripple of Hope Awards, without the kids. It is not the best picture (neither one of them is really smiling, you can see Meghan clenching her jaw) and I am sure this was a last minute change. There must have been a photoshoot with H&M and their kids for pics they had intended to use. This was a strange decision as they bring a glamour photographer everywhere. This picture is not their usual style.

Oh the Times has information about Harry's raw, honest memoir. This is apparently what he meant by how he became the man he is today 🤣

The newspaper claimed that one of the “most extraordinary” disclosures in Prince Harry’s forthcoming autobiography, Spare, is that as a teenager he lost his virginity to a “beautiful older woman in the countryside”.

Good grief, Harry! May be a surprise to you, dude, but some of us consider this way too much information.

I remember her white dress/coat with the funny looking bumps underneath. I have not watched the tell all Netflix stuff but I think it is likely they are saving them in the “vault” for future monetization opportunities.

William couldn't be that "bad boy"....and so I get that he's got some resentment for sure towards his brother. Perhaps Harry could get away with those "bad boy" headlines, but William never could have done that. And perhaps William waited for his brother to "sow his wild oats" so to speak

i think william is simply different from harry in the manner in which he has handled himself over the course of his adult life. i think he figured out that if he didn't draw attention to himself, esp. negative, then he wasn't as interesting for the press to cover as compared to others in his family. charles was never the 'spare' yet he it didn't keep him from being a pretty wild guy back in the day, i'm old enough to remember seeing him (long before diana came into the picture) populating many tabloid pages with stories about his rotating door of women and sowing his wild oats, out partying at studio 54... it's long been known that the marriage to diana was b/c his parents finally lowered the boom and told him that he had to settle down, start a family and cultivate a more respectable life.

the heirs in the british monarchy never seemed to let their 'destiny' prevent them from less than stellar behaviors-charles had his womanizing party boy reputation when he was younger as well as did his great uncle edward who was well known and received extensive media attention for the same in addition to his prolific gambling.

Yes! And Charles was dating Diana’s older sister Sarah around the time they were pressuring him to settle down and start making some heirs. Sarah introduced Diana to Charles at their house one day, and the rest is history.

According to the Express:
Harry and Meghan are demanding a "sit-down meeting" with senior members of the Royal Family, following the release of the explosive Netflix documentary series this week. The Sussexes want the Royal Family to "take responsibility" for the hurt and damage they put the couple through. The couple wants a meeting before attending King Charles' coronation, according to a source close to the couple.

While I think it's a very good idea for these people to have a sit-down meeting, I do hope that H&M also want to take responsibility. ;-)

I don’t understand the “demand” part. What leverage do they think that they have?

Agree that it is a good idea (though should be a private issue).
