Apped for a cic earlier and got the 2 week message. Excited for more UR but not having to meet 6k. Have 2 trips and tux annual check up in there along with my car ins so they should take up enough I don't have to get creative.

I just realizes my dumba** forgot to unfreeze my credit before I applied. That 2 weeks won't be there tomorrow. I'll have to unfreeze it and call.

Sorry you have to be the example of the dangers of booking flights through Chase. It probably depends on Allegiant’s policies. Might be credit with Allegiant.

Chase can’t do anything with it. I called and they said because it’s allegiant we have to go through them. We ended up booking a flight directly with frontier for tomorrow night. Hopefully that one happens. We’ll have to get ahold of allegiant sometime but we’ve been on hold for like 4+ hours tonight

I think this is key. If I didn't have someplace (Publix) that was so close and with a low minimum order I don't think I would fool with it.

I guess I'm going to try gambling using my credits w/ Total Wine and see how that goes, LOL. If it ends up being separate people delivering it, I won't do that again, and I'll look for a different option to use them.

I'm hoping we get the dang snow day tomorrow. 1/2 my students are already gone. I hate the years we're in school till 12/23. Add in I'm not feeling Christmas this year. I have like no presents for my kids, nothing wrapped either. Plus my kids are being @^$@^#*& right now. UGH.

I'm also hoping that Saturday my BFs trip is cancelled. But I don't think I'll get lucky. But maybe I'll get a Christmas miracle.

Our flight to Iowa tomorrow morning got canceled. We booked with chase points flying allegiant. Haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone at allegiant to change the flight and it won’t let us change it online. Dh was on hold for over an hour and they hung up on him. He’s back on hold again

Allegiant was cancelling almost all their flights I think. They only do turns (meaning they don't have crews staying overnight anywhere). So I'm guessing they were cancelling to keep crews from getting stuck. They also don't have the infrastructure for lots of planes getting stuck places. Sorry you're stuck getting your credit back. Did you try chat or twitter?

Dress WARM! Its currently -15 with -45~-50 wind chills. Its going to be a few days before the numbers go positive again. Not sure what airport you're flying into, but everything in Omaha is shutdown or running reduced today and tomorrow. Offutt, Zoo, Schools, ect are all closed, trash pickup canceled for two days, buses are running a reduced Sat schedule... From what I hear driving conditions are worse in IA.

@Haley R will probably have a fight on her hands because she went through Chase but she is absolutely entitled to her cash back by law (Chase can give her points back). Allegiant can send her a check (lol, as if) or refund the payment method used (Chase’s TA’s credit card) and then she goes to Chase to demand points or cash back and she should be able to get points refunded. Allegiant might try to shove a voucher at her by ghosting her but that’s when DOT comes in. If they won’t talk to her after a couple weeks or insist on a voucher file a grievance against them.

@Haley R this sounds like a miserable situation with rough options. Hope you don’t meet any idiots on the road, I swear holidays + snow can bring out some of the dumbest drivers on the planet

I looked into using Instacart and the chase credits as well…not worth it here either with the high minimum order pick up plus additional fees

I don't have any fees with pickup. The items are slightly marked up, but that's all.

I wouldn't wait too very long to pull the trigger on this app, just because it's an elevated offer (90k vs 75k) and reduced spend ($6000 vs $7500), so it's very unique and I'm not sure if there's a firm date on when it will disappear. Don't forget to use a support link from P1.

Good advice. I just went ahead now and did it. P2 was approved. His CL is only 3k, so I'll either ask the Dr/Surgery center to let me pay twice over a few days to pre-pay the 4k or I'll use a diff CC for the 1k.

We've spent a lot in the last month (xmas and a bathroom reno) and are heading to WDW in early Jan, but that's basically pre-paid at this point. After his knee surgery (TKR) our plan was to lay low on spending $$ during his recovery/PT/inability to drive for a spell. I'll still need to find $3-4k to spend before March 22nd, but as someone said above, it always ends up "easier" than you expect.

Thanks everyone for the advice in this thread. I think if we hit this SUB, we'll be at ~500k URs, 170k MR, 150k IHG, 70K Cap1, 100k AA, and some random amounts in RR and Bonvoy. We've just retired and will use this to help offset travel in the near term. I used 140k Avios to book our Ireland flights in June (Biz on way over) and a bunch of Cap1 Venture points for lodging while there. Your willingness to help is invaluable!

I'm not sure if your local stores charge fees but with the Instacart + I have no fees. Unfortunately there is a high limit for many stores. Aldi here is $35 min for pickup but 5% back in credits. Works for me since Aldi is my regular grocery store.

We are scheduled to fly home tomorrow from Miami from our cruise and SW is offering free change due to the impending storm in MD. I am attempted to call an audible and just stay in Miami until Monday and enjoy Christmas in warmer weather. But DS asked to be home for Christmas. Decisions, decisions.
