Going on Bermuda cruise September 9, 2023. What excursions did you do? Any favorites? Did you use Disney's or another excursion company? Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
We just got back. The Island is beautiful, people are very friendly, and public transit was very safe.

We got a 2-day pass for the ferry & bus. We were on our way to Horseshoe bay when we ran into a couple that had been on the Island for a week. They said horseshoe gets crowded & we should get off the bus a couple stops ahead at Elbow Beach.
We did and had nearly the entire beach to ourselves!! Is was stunning!
Be prepared for walking, both up and downhill most places you go.

As you can see, there are just a couple people on the beach. The guy walking is my nephew.
Highly recommend! Bonus we got to watch a couple of local wind surfers as free entertainment too.

Take sunscreen! The sun is deceivingly STRONG with the wind blowing to keep you cooled off! Several of us got burnt!

Public transit was easy, takes you from one end of the Island to the other, and well maintained/clean.

The cost of everything is high tho. My nephews got 4 drinks at the bar near port and it’s was $60+

Agreed on the prices being fairly high... a lot of the staff were planning to go out the night we stayed docked but the next day said they did not, or they came back early. I didn't find it THAT much higher than city prices, but it was still a few bucks higher for drinks than I'd see here, and 5-10 higher for entrees/sushi rolls. Everything we had was very good though!

I paid $25 for a fish sandwich and fries. I did notice that prices at stores I visited were comparable to other islands

We did a private tour the first day with Heidi Cowen of Bermuda Byways. It was a full day tour of the entire island and included lunch. She is a 6th generation native, and her family used to run the lighthouse. Great tour, and there were only 10 of us, which is the most she will take.

We went to Bermuda Fun Golf. A really neat mini golf course that was walking distance from the ship! Each hole is a mini version of a famous hole at a "real" golf course - Augusta, Pebble Beach, etc. We had a lot of fun there.

We also jumped on the bus to horseshoe bay beach that was near the dock. Didn't reserve it ahead of time or anything - I believe $7/pp each way.

We booked the dolphin encounter with Dolphin Quest directly. This is also walking distance from the ship. Was a neat experience to do once, I probably wouldn't do it again though.

We were on the 4/15/23, Fantasy 8-night Bermuda cruise, and absolutely loved it. First time to 🇧🇲 and we booked the DCL Island Tour. It was easily 5.5 hours, and flew by. Our driver & tour guide was a native with lots of interesting stories and willing to answer ANY questions. We stopped at the "worlds smallest drawbridge", the St Davids lighthouse, church and cemetery, downtown Hamilton (45 min to shop), Horseshoe Bay (photo stop), and St. Georges Island (45 min shopping). Couple others Ive forgotten. As an added wonderful twist, our driver made sure we could taste test their national drink, the Rum Swizzle, if we wanted to! It was wonderful! I think we lucked up and had the best tour guide ever! Everyone raved. The Bermudians we met were lovely.
On the second day in Bermuda (raining) we shopped in the dockyard stores, and enjoyed the Frog & Onion microbrewry near the dock. 👍👍

Take the tour to St George. It’s beautiful and very walkable. You can also get horse drawn carriag ride in the square in St George. There were a lot of nice restaurants and shops. It’s a short walk to the museum, the old town hall, unfinished church and Fort Catherine as well. There was a reinactment of a woman on a ducking stool for gossip. If you prefer beach Elbow Beach and Horse Shoe bay have the gorgeous pink sand.
Was this a private tour or through Disney?

Thank you all for your great responses and the lovely pictures. Looking forward to September!

Sorry not a tour. You can see all of it walking I’m St George but since most ships dock at the other side of the island you would need to take the tour that goes there

I booked an island tour excursion outside of Disney which lasted a out 4 hours. In terms of the menu, one of the nights at Enchanted Garden had a menu that had never been served on the Fantasy before according to my server. I also enjoyed the Welcome Reception on the 2nd night which includes free wine and beer
The personal navigator is on DCLBlog and all the menus have been used before

We were on the Fantasy for this cruise as well. We did the Bermuda Aquarium Museum Zoo Cruise excursion through DCL. Overall it was good to do once, but we probably wouldn't repeat it. It seemed way overpriced since it was only $10 per person to get into BAMZ (all connected) and the excursion is $79 per person. It was a nice ferry ride to BAMZ though. We opted to head on to Hamilton to shop and have lunch after the excursion. Then we took a taxi back to the dock. The 2nd day we spent in the dockyard area. We shopped and ate at the Frog and Onion. We had planned to go to Horseshoe Beach the 2nd day but it was chilly and rainy.
There was a new menu that we tried on the 1st night of the cruise. I don't remember much about it besides 1 of the desserts, a Kahlua mocha creme brulee which was delicious.
It was a fabulous cruise and Bermuda was stunning!

Could you rent chairs/umbrellas at Elbow Beach? Did they have restrooms or any place to get food there? I know everyone says to go to Horseshoe Beach, but I'd rather go to a less crowded beach.

Horseshoe Bay was pretty empty when we went, but it was rainy that day so a lot people just didn't go. Almost nobody explored the side beaches through the rocks, either :)

Elbow Beach sounds awesome though and now I want to go again so I can see it!

The vegetarian dahl dish was the best thing I had in the MDR the whole cruise. I wish it were on a regular menu!
I have been on many cruises and have been anxious to get this menu. I am very excited to have it in September. I also hope to get it on the 9-nt Alaskan cruise this summer. So many good items!!!

No to all of those questions. Well there was a port-a-potty but that's about it. We honestly only stayed for about 2-3 hours but that was enough!

Hmm this is all making me wonder if we should do a different cruise than the 8 night bermuda....doesn't sound like it is all that amazing.
