Guide says "VGF just sold out"

We were also looking to add on some points here but this evening were told that VGF went “sold out” this morning ☹️. Really hoping that they find a few more points around the back of the sofa overnight 🤞. I’m also wondering what a “sold out” VGF means for current incentives on the other resorts?

I wonder if the speed with which this sold as an add on to an older association without restrictions will sway there decision with Poly 2?

I'm hopeful.... But who knows...

Currently the bookings are not bad. We booked just before the 7 month window and were able to get all our dates in standard view (the only way I can possibly justify booking at VGF given the insane points chart!).

That said, to us, VGF just feels like Disney, and we are so proud to own there! The team under Michael Eisner really understood how to create Deluxe Resorts. I doubt we will ever see anything as magical as Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, and Grand Floridian ever created again!
That home resort priority at these point heavy resorts like RIV and VGF is so important.. like yeah we paid a little bit more per point but at the end of the day we're staying where we want and we're able to book it for nearly 20% off compared to the preferred room categories of the same type.

I do find the timing a nudge curious as it was the last day of the outgoing incentives and this way they don't have to have any special pricing for the next round. Did they really hit a threshold this morning or was it "close enough, let's call it and raise the price to sold out levels" which would let them treat VGF like any of the other non active resorts?

That may be, of course. I truly believe that most (but not all) who purchased VGF when BPK became available did so for studios, not the larger units. 150 points will get you a week in a standard view studio for many times of the year and 5 nights for all seasons except Easter and Christmas- New Years.

I wonder if at least a good share of add-on contracts were purchased by those just wanting a few nights to start or end a longer stay elsewhere. That's what we did - I wanted 2 or 3 nights near the MK before our longer stay in a 1 Bedroom at the BWV. It was our first purchase since 1999 and I am now content. :) We can walk to the MK from a beautiful resort and then after we move to the BWV, we can walk to EPCOT & DHS and enjoy the amenities of a 1 bedroom. Can't wait to see the refurbished units.
I am only 1 person, but we bought VGF2 specifically for the 1 and 2 bedroom villas. We'll likely never stay at BPK in the studios. And we knew that it would be impossible to get into those 1 or 2 bedroom suites at VGF unless we bought there and had an 11 month advantage.

I signed a contract the final week of the promotion (after valiantly fighting addonitis all summer, well, a couple weeks after adding points in early summer…anyway…) and while I put down a 10% deposit in September, I *just* made the first of 3 equal remaining payments and won’t make the last one until early December. I think we’ll probably see strong sales for VGF in Oct and Nov, and maybe even December, that were all inked in Aug/Sept…and I think I read that you might even be able to sign contracts prepared a month earlier under the old deal? Maybe they weren’t keeping track of us delayed pay/closers carefully enough and suddenly realized they were approaching oversold—perhaps that’s why they are ROFRing?

Or perhaps more people in October decided that the $161 for VGF that they were on the fence about looked pretty good after all, especially with Disney ROFRing contracts in the $140 range?

FWIW, we loved the location and design of our BPK studio and I don’t see us staying in 1bed or 2bed at VGF ever. We’re not the type to spend much time in the room when we travel to Disney World.

Not the OP, but I wandered into the Aulani model room for about two minutes and the guide in there told me the same thing (unsolicited) that it sold out today. Clearly they did an email blast to guides internally about it coast to coast+.
The models at DLH?

I fear for my $140/pt VGF contract thats sitting in ROFR right now 😭

It only sold out this fast because DVD put it on sale with strong incentives that put it close to resale.

The summer incentive and the use of the MB program is what got it to selll as well as it these past few months which is what got it to this point.

So, I doubt the decision would not be based on this at all. Prior to the summer, it was not selling a whole lot better than RIV.

Here are the new incentives good until January 29th

Pffft. Looking at today's info now. So this "sold out" shouldn't really affect my consideration or ability to get another 50 pts. It was $230/pt the other day and still is today. There weren't any incentives at this low # anyway either way.

It does affect anyone looking to get 100+ for sure though. Well, 100 pts was a $500 discount that's now gone. So really 150+ is what's flattened.

I am looking to unload a small contract. I'm assuming it makes sense to do this after another price increase happens? Any guesses on what they will move the 230pp to? Thanks!
