We are flying into MCO on Monday morning, heading to the gulf beaches. I'm not changing plans yet. Due to our schedules, the earliest we could move it up to would be Sunday and that sounds worse than arriving on Monday at this point. I'm just waiting it out.So we are in a bit of a different spot than many of the people discussing it here. We are not scheduled to arrive in advance of Irma. Our main package does not begin until next Tuesday. We had planned to actually arrive the night before, but could easily dump that extra night with little to no impact to our plans. So what would folks here suggest for someone who is scheduled to be on the back end of this thing? Is it likely to be done and gone by Tuesday? Is it too soon to consider changing those plans? Or should we be going ahead and moving things?
Thanks.
I really hope dvc has it in effect as well. We can't reschedule vacation weeks but are going to try to swap to Disneyland! So here's to hoping I get my points back.
Unlike TWC.He keeps the hype out and sticks to the facts. I won't panic til he does. He says prepare for the worse, because someone IS getting the worse, and hope for the best. It's a very strong hurricane.

The best thing you can do is not panic.I'm in a very different situation than most people as we're staying in a villa in kissemme, this hurricane has me in full panic mode as we've never experienced anything like this and don't even know how to deal/prepare for something like this. We're flying to MCO from the UK on Thursday so we arrive before it.
Yeah, it cost less to fly into MCO and we're AP holders so we planned to spend the first and last days at Food & Wine. Just watching and waiting...Similar to our plans. We were supposed to fly from Philly into MCO on Sunday morning, then drive to the Sarasota area until Wednesday morning. Then we were going to drive up to Disney for a few days.
I just don't know what to do at this point. The latest models show the hurricane heading right up the center of FL, with WDW right in its path.
Only issue there is flights could be backed up from the priors days canceled flights.. just sucks all the way around..Monday looks like a much better option of flying in versus Sunday.
I think by Monday night everything should be cleared to fly back in if Airports shut down.

Oh ok. That's usually what our evacuation plans consist of, but after last Aug, I'm a little leary if that too!I'm in Baton Rouge.
Fires near DL? You mean the ones in Burbank? Haven't heard they had any affect on DL.

Yeah. Unpredictable forecast just reminds me of Katrina. I lived in BR for Katrina so we did ok. But, friends that we plan to evacuate to live close to Amite River in BR & flooded (just a little) last yr. That had always been our plan but not sure now.Are you in NOLA?
